- Spring is here and summer is around the corner. Warm up and join us as we journey to Gold Lake on an overland adventure from last summer. We will be off-roading, camping, paddleboarding, and cooking steak for two nights in the Sierra Nevada at one of my favorite places to camp.
As Always, Nice job! I appreciate the clarification at the beginning. As a NorCal overlander, I was thinking, "There's no way he's gonna make it through all the snow! " :)
Great content! This was my back yard for six or seven years, watching this brings back many wonderful memories. It's an some absolutely beautiful region.
one of my favorites for sure! thamks for watching
What you are doing is what I want to see. I want to see the adventure, the landscape, the route. Too many channels start out doing this, then branch off into product reviews and other low effort nonsense. Please just keep doing what you are doing.
thank you so much, adventure is everything
100% agree. Here to see the exploring, the camping and yes even the coffee making 👍 refreshing to not have the heat reviews.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I am going to have to make a trip up there it looks peaceful.
Good stuff, like always !
Glad that you were able to recover footage to share! That trail was no joke; hopefully, you and John can get out and do some more exploring together soon!
We are heading out very soon!
How you don't have thousands of subscribers is flabbergasting.
heart...
Love the video.
I share your goal of finding remote Sierra lakes that you can drive to. I'd like to think that there are some out there to find. Crater Lake, just east of Carson Pass and Scotts Lake a couple miles north of that. Or Lost Lakes just south of Carson Pass. Still, not an overlanding/remote feeling like you get in the vast desert. Seems like the forest service is concerned with human waste fouling the pristine waters. So, they either close the road short of the shore (like at Deer lake) or they put in vault toilets which require nice roads for the pumper trucks.
FYI - google maps / satellite shows the surface of Snake Lake all covered with floating weeds. Maybe that is all good for the garter snake population, not for fishing or paddle boarding.
we will keep searching. That's the fun anyways right?
@@losburrosoverland It's all about the journey and discovery.
You or anyone ever think of doing a make a wish for alduts? Was thinking about that when I was isolated for a few days while on top of mesa planting a flag for a few people on the 8th…. Didn’t see or talk to anyone for over 48 hours. Hiking up a clearance trail of rocks and small boulders. Place called little creek in Utah
That sounds pretty special. very cool.
How do you like those Faulken Wildpeak A/T's?
LOVE them!
What breed of dog do you have? Seems big.
He's a 170lb Bernedoodle
What awning are you using?
Now I am using the Bush Company 270 but on this trip I was using the awning that came with my roof top tent.
