I was surprised just how good GB were because the Aussies had a great team and this was a very hard fought game full of tremendous intensity and courage allied to great skill under pressure.

What a great game of Rugby League & GB were a major part in that.

Dale Shearer's penalty try. Maybe more tries should be awarded. It would certainly stop illegal moves by the opposition team. In this action it's the pommy's usual illegal tackle to prevent a possible try.

Andy Gregory playing at scrum half made a big difference. Lewis scores on the 7th tackle .

Not one Bradford Northern player, the team with arguably the best pack in British Rugby League at that time.

Yes previous comment you noticed this v well. Wally Lewis's try was on the 7th tackle. No one said a thing on the telly. Shouldve been a handover. Ok would prob still have been aussie win but by only 18-15.

In an era when being successful in the Challenge Cup got you a GB Jersey. Tony Marchant in the first and second tests springs to mind...

Chris Burton should never have got within a country mile of a test jersey. Shocking!

5m back in the day! Haha They talk about the players having to be fitter and playing longer minutes back then, ha! They’d have died if they had to get back 10m like they do today.

Who the hell, other than maybe Greg Inglis, kicks a field goal when you're down by 4!
