I miss the action features. Without that a couple of extra tongues that that as you said could wrap around a figure would have been nice and pretty cheap
Thanks for checking the review out! Yeah, the action features would be really cool to see today with Origins and the newer articulation. But we live in different times than the 80s with the tooling, manufacturing, and assembly costs of these figures. The 80s, a figure like Tung Lashor, was probably around a few thousand dollars to sculpt, tool, and manufacturer. Now, the same cost for a similar is between 30 and 50 000 dollars. Never mind a completely new figure with all new tooling like Mantenna. He was probably 100,000 dollars in costs. Mattel can only change so much Then, you add tool engineering and assembly an action feature to make it work correctly for mass production. That's very expensive! I'm happy we got a tung lashor in the line finnaly. It would have been cool to get different tongues. But that's what customs are for or even 3d printing today👍

I appreciate you stopping in, bro! Thanks for those leaving comments! I was so excited to finally get a Tung lashor in the Origins line even though he doesn't have that vintage inspired action feature that I grew up! Times and toy costs are different now with making toys work with mechanics. I know that Snake armor Skeletor is showing up now in areas in California. Many collectors of the Origins seem to be interested in him after watching reviews on him, including mine, from what I get in the comments! But others don't care about another Skeletor Variant or a figure that wasn't in the vintage line going back to the nastalgia. As far as a peg warmer! I would say yes if they produce and distribute to many! Figures like Tung lashor will be hard to find and go quick, I think! I just wanted to put the snake armor on him in the review to show he has that extra large buck design going back to the vintage Tung Lashor. The classics slimmed his buck down and disappointed people when that figure came out in the classics line. So it was a plus the Origins made a new one. Not just reused a Skeletor body. Plus, it was fun to see some kind of armor on Tung lashor as he never had one 👍
@@Themanchlid Oh yeah... I have the Classics version too & you're totally right. I was disappointed with TL's skinny body too. Classics made quite a few goof ups like Leech skinny arms & legs, NA Skeletor's overlay on top of regular human torso etc. Can't wait to get all of these.
@Shiva Kumar The Classics was an awesome line! I have most of the figures! Of course, it was designed for adult collectors who grew up with the vintage inspired MOTO line and now could have all those favorite figures again but reimagined with better sculpts, paint and articulation to feed that Nastalgia we were looking for! The Classics did a great job on many figures but also made some strange or lazy design choices for certain figures, too, like Tung Lashor with that typical Motu Classics buck instead of the Bukly Wide body like the Origins got right!

Yeah I hear you bro! It is what it is! I try to just be happy seeing the remastered version for the Origins. I too think it sucks at heart that the iconic action features are cut! But Tooling, Engineering and Manufacturing costs are four time what they were in the 80s just to make moving parts in a Hollow buck. So Mattel is cutting that expensive option and adding a cheap mimic effect instead! I miss the 80s.
Kind of sucks that they're taking the original gimmicks out and using effect parts instead. Still, I get it's because of costs and everything. Looks cool though.
Thanks for watching the review on this figure! Yeah, I understand totally what you're saying about the action features being removed or replaced with fixed gimmick parts. But the Tooling and Engineering costs today to add this in simple figures is really expensive then when compared to the 80s. We live in different times with inflation at an all-time high, and workers' salaries plus manufacturing costs are quadruple today. Mattel can only change so much for a figure and make a profit. So it's more economical to simplify these remastered versions of the vintage figures us collectors are supporting, yet try to replicate those action features with a simple gimmick attachment.

Yes, unfortunately, it's the times we live in! Of course, we want the Origins to be close to the vintage and have the action features with the update sculpt and articulation. But toy designing, tooling, and engineering to make a similar action feature work like the vitage counterparts in the 80s is 4 times the cost today with inflation and Tooling. Not to mention factory assembly. A figure like the Origins Mantenna, for example, costs anywhere between 50 and 100 000 dollars in Tooling and manufacturing costs today. Back in the 80s, the Mantenna figure was probably a few thousand dollars. Of course, it was simpler. But I had the Bug eye action feature that the Origins did carry over but in the head earlier. If they did it with the switch in the back like the vintage. That's now a whole new tooled buck that is Hollow and has to be engineered for working parts. I'm appreciate the line like the Origins is a thing today. It sucks that iconic action features are missing, but they try to include some kind of plug-in or snap on mimic effect. Plus, many of us are used to the classics that took the Vintage inspired figures to another level but had no action features for the most part. Depending on the figure again, like Origins. It's all personal opinion at this point, to be honest with us collectors who make videos. I'm telling the. truth that I miss the action features, but I'm ok with most of the newer Origins with just plug I effects. I think complaining in my review isn't gonna help or make Mattel add action features to the line. If someone even ever watched my reviews or even care from the company. I think they will just end the line if there is not enough support or sales before they put more Tooling money to newer figures. It happened to the Classics! The original team walked away because of the constant complaining or people that didn't like many things. So they just ended it from what I read!
@@Themanchlid fair enough. But then if that's the case I think they should do what they did with grizzlor and just keep those with unique gimmicks/features on Mattel creations. To be honest finding these figs now in the wild is next to zilch, might as well keep it solely online and through Mattel directly.
@Maverick I think as the Origins and Masterverse go forward, they are gonna be phased out of retail l and mainly found online! Places like BBTS, Entertainment Earth, Target online, and Mattel Creations! I'm sure other places as well! The brand is not doing great at retail and is always on clearance. Or one month places like My Target has very little. Then, two months later, they're have a bunch of Masterverse Two Bad figures sitting there, for example! A month before that, I had to hunt one down, uncertain of the release. Many other people couldn't figure it out either who hunt for this stuff or want it early like me for fresh content on my channel. Now it's a Target exclusive, and many collectors already found one. The rest are peg warmers! This is the trend with most Masterverse figures. Aside from that! The missing action features that many of us wish the Origins had! We still really like many of those figures and can never find them in stores or many places online now! Or preorders go up and sell out quickly for popular figures. This is another trend I see with the Origins that is not improving much either with each wave. So it tells me there is a major issue still with distribution, or Mattel is making limited production runs to cut costs with certain figures that have higher production costs.. Going back to a figure like Mantenna or Grizzlor. They sell out fast on preorders and Mattel Creations because they are limited in production. Then we see certain figures like the comic book Statos or He-man and Skeletor all over the place sitting there on pegs. They made too many of them, and they were cheaper to make. But they sell! So the manufacturer or mattel has to make up that cost through discount at places like Target! Then if the line or boring figures dosent move. They won't order more or the next Wave to stock. In the end! There's a team like the Classics who grew up with the Vintage brand and is very passionate about the Motu Origins and Masterverse. However, they get a very limited budget to make stuff. So, the Mattels investors and CEOs need to see some kind of profit to keep pushing the line or allowing more design and tooling money to the Motu Brand managers and team. Part of that is, unfortunately, re designing the figures to hold a certain level of play value and Nastalgia for the Collectors, buying, cutting expensive action features, and replacing them with the cheaper mimic effects. I think we will definitely see more figures from Mattel creations as time goes on with less vintage action features.
Thanks for stopping in, bro! Yeah, I would have liked a longer Tung or alternative head like the classics with an open mouth and tung. As far as Roboto, I'm mixed! The first release goes pack to that childhood nastalgia with the blue arms and color gears. The new one goes back to the comic book colors. But it looks like they gave him the mechanical heart, but clear gears which the first release didn't have. I have the wave 12 Roboto coming in soon. I'll review him, and then we can decide which one is cooler👍
Adding sunman figures into the minicomics is irritating. It makes the whole story seem like a fan fic crossover. Shame about the loss of the action feature.
I stopped collecting the Sunman figures! I got the Main Sun-man and Pighead. They go well with the Motu figures. But I don't need the rest of them. I wish they would just stick to MOTU and finish up the vintage core characters for now.
Thanks for stopping in, brother! Yeah, that hole in the face looks funny without the tung handing out like the vintage. I'm just gonna keep mine in! Lol
I’ve said it before, I’m not a fan of some of these newer figures not having their iconic action features intact, mainly because I’ve been collecting Origins to share with my son when he gets old enough, and it would have been nice to have him experience these characters similar to how I did. The plug-in tongue just seems kind of silly and can easily get lost somewhere if you’re not careful. I can take some consolation in that I managed to pick up a vintage Tung Lashor at the Central Florida Comic-Con last year (the legs are a bit loose, but everything else is intact). Showed it to my son (who is now a little over 2 1/2)…he loves the retractable tongue!
Yeah Mattel it's cool to see all these figures in the Origins line once again but many action features are being cut unfortunately! I guess it's very expensive for tooling, assembly and enginerring today to to add action features that were so common on the 80s and very cheap to make happen. I would like to see the action features, buy I'm ok with the snap and moc replacement personnally as a collector. However that's not practical play values for kids as you mentioned! I have a feeling as the Origins line goes forward, We are gonna see more of this because of the direction Mattel is going with these figures. So I guess the best option is to look for the vintage figures that are in decent shape as you did👍
Yeah I loved the vintage Tung lashor! It's so cool seeing this figure in the Origins even know he dosent have the Vintage action features. I'm still very happy to have him in hand! I hope you can get one soon when these Officially get out!
Great review! I also can't wait for Sy-Clone figure . I have a feeling he may be a deluxe or exclusive . I am really surprised BBTS or EE has not dropped pre-orders for 3 of the 4 remaining wave 12 figures . Any why only Snake Armor Skeletor since i think early october .
Thanks for checking this review out and sharing your thoughts! Syklone is a must-have and high on many people ls collectors lists. But he will be a whole new retooled figure, and that's expensive. So, I guess Mattel sees how each wave is doing before they spend the time and investment. Yes, Snake Armor Skeletor has been on preorder for a while. Some did come in but sold out. I'm not sure what issues are or why places like BBTS and ETE don't have Preorders up yet. Maybe because this is a slow time of year with factories in China producing enough figures to do to the Chinese New Year around this time and many workers get the month off.
@@Themanchlid Thank you so much for the information in general!. Oh no i was thinking Sy-Clone a mattel creations especially like you stated with new tooling and stuff lol 😂 oh god help us please be a walmart exclusive like Moss Man
@Robert Alessandrini No problem with the info! Yes, I have a feeling that if they get out of Syklone, He will be an exclusive or maybe a Deluxe card figure with extra accessories to make him more the Vintage or 200x style. It's possible he could be a Mattel creations figure. But im thinking more and exclusive! We can see what Mattel has planned this year at Toy Fair online coming up soon this month!

@@Themanchlid Great Minds think alike! Now i just need Modulok and Two Bad to be announced, my other 2 favs. Good news is the chest of Frog Monger is likely that of Modulok's. I was thinking maybe that's why they have such a thick piece around his neck, to cover up the long neck that is likely needed for Modulok.
@@dividendz I need Two Bad, Modulok, Syclone, and Spikor to a few Other Origins I would love to see. They are All new Tooled figures and very expensive to make. I have managed to resist picking up any Origins so far... I am focused on masterverse (I already have all the MOTUCs and have no space for two new lines) but this guy really hit me in the nostalgia... I will try my best to resist getting him haha
Thanks for checking the review out! I hear you on that! After I collected all the classics, I never thought I would ever get into the Origins or Masterverse! Almost two years later, I have most of both lines. The Origins are as close as you can get to that childhood vintage nastalgia! Some figures are hirlt or miss! But a figure like this tung lashor really hit me in my gut once again and gives that childhood rush of excitement and memories. He is hard to resist as a Motu collector who dreams about that past Nastalgia on those vintage figures we had!
Long tongue and rotating object do not mix well, LOL. I'd keep clear of Syklone and let Kobra Kahn deal with him. Hopefully we'll get Syklone in the next wave as well as Spikor.
Lol, true to that comment!'👍 Spikor was already teased and announced for some time this year.ni hope wave 13. I haven't heard anything about Syklone yet! But he is high on the list for many people👍
Mattel creations had them up for sale and sold out today! I'm guessing we might start to see some of these figures in places like Big Bad toy store the end of this month or early March. Distribution is still a mess with this line.
This video pops up as soon as I just read an email from EE cancelling my Mantanna order due to Mattel telling them they are no longer manufacturing them even though I had it on pre-order :( Oh well hopefully this figure comes though for me
Thanks for checking the video out after it popped up! That sticks your Preorder got canceled from EE. It seems the production numbers are small or very brief with certain Origins figures. Mantenna came out a while back, and now they are no longer Making more because of Factory costs, and they need the space for newer Tooling to make the newer figures. Mantenna was probably very expensive to manufacture, so they had a limited production run. I guess you look on Ebay for one. But unfortunately they are expensive! Maybe Mattel might run another production run down the road or a variant, being they invested so much money into the new Tooling of that figure. Tung lashor is another popular figure I can see that will sell out fast. I hope they ship more of that figure out down the road, and you can get your hands on one soon. I would also like another one on a card!
All these Snake Men figures look great. That’s an awesome collection you got. I just recently got into toy collecting and Masterverse was the line that was starting so I picked that one. You make it awfully hard not to pick up some of these Origins figures. If only they scaled a little better with the Masterverse.
Thanks for stopping in to check the review out! I totally get your what you're saying with this line! They are so hard not to want to collect or pick so many figures up if you grew up with the Vintage brand or just really like the Masters of the universe characters or franchise! Yeah, it would have been cool to see them scale better with the Masterverse or Classics line. But the Origins is going back to the Vintage nastalgia for many of us who grew up with those 80s figures. The Masterverse is going for Something between the Classics and The New Revelation cartoon.
different times whatsoever...but i kinda have it up to here to see the best action features of these figures/charakters getting strippe of...so this plug in tongue stinks!
Yes, I understand what you're saying! In a perfect world with a line like the Origins remastered today, we should see over the top details, articulation, action features, and accessories. But these figures, Tooling and Toy Engineering today, to make a simple action feature work like we had in the 80s is quadruple the cost. Mattel can only make these figures so much money to make a profit today. Tooling a figure like Mantenna in the 80s was a few thousand dollars. Of course, the vintage was more simple then the Origins one. But the Origins one today or larger figures like that in toy form with the action feature that Mantenna got again but was all in the head instead of a switch in the body costs around 100 000 dollars to sculpt, Tooling, and Manufacturing costs. Then shipping, packaging, etc! I don't even know what the production numbers is today or units sold for that figure. He sold out and other places canceled preorders because they stopped making him. Its probley because he was to much to manufacture large numbers and retail didn't want to carry a bunch. Not to mention kids were not interested like the small number of collectors. So yeah we live in very different times then the 80s with costs and manufacturing numbers. This is effecting future figures on how they are made, how far they go with features or accessories and production numbers. Not to mention is it worth keeping the brand going for Mattel! They need to hot a certain profit margin. I know my stores have older Origins figures no one wants on clearance. They were cheap to make and now sitting there. That hurts the brand unfortunately.
I may be in the minority here but I can’t see myself playing with the action features more than once. I’d much prefer it the way it is currently. I’d rather have the articulation and modularity that is Origins.
Thanks for checking the review out! Yeah, I'm also ok with a plug-in action feature and the newer articulation. It's fun to have action features for the nastalgia if we can. But I understand why they are cutting them today. I'm just happy this line is around, and we are getting many of our favorite childhood characters remastered with little better sculps and articulation👍
It would have been cool if he came with Two heads like the Classics tung lashor did. One closed month that looked like the vintage and And Open mouth with the Tongue hanging out. But I this is what we got in end! It's still cool to see him in Origins!

I think a extra snake should come with him....great review bro.... question what ro-boto should I buy ?
Thanks for stopping in, bro! Yeah, I would have liked a longer Tung or alternative head like the classics with an open mouth and tung. As far as Roboto, I'm mixed! The first release goes pack to that childhood nastalgia with the blue arms and color gears. The new one goes back to the comic book colors. But it looks like they gave him the mechanical heart, but clear gears which the first release didn't have. I have the wave 12 Roboto coming in soon. I'll review him, and then we can decide which one is cooler👍
Oooooh yeah...can't wait to get him! Excellent review bro
Thanks, bro! Yeah, he is so cool👍
Yeah from your video he looks better then those first pics with neck gap.. He actually looks like one of the best origins yet 👍
I appreciate you watching as always! He definitely looks way better in hand. Especially around the neck and head compared to certain early images👌
Solid snag, bro! Question - and I wanted to confirm; his hands are different from those of Frog Monger? Still waiting on that to reach here
Thanks for stopping in, bro! Yes, his hands are very different from Frog Monger. But they still have similar Three finger toad hands.
Excellent
Thanks, man! He looks awesome👍
Maybe I missed it, but are the hands for Tung Lashor the same as Frog Monger?
Thanks for checking the video out! No tung lashors' hands are different, but they have similar three finger Frog hands.
@@Themanchlid You'd think they'd have tried to cut corners like that, but cool. Keep bringing the MOTU awesomeness!
Without the tong, he looks like he's trying to blow a kiss, 😂 Great job brotha 👊 Can't wait to get mine
So I guess the best option is to look for the vintage figures that are in decent shape as you did👍
Great review! Hopefully BBTS will put up pre-orders soon!
Thanks for checking my review out! I'm surprised they are not up yet for preorder on BBTS! Hopefully they go up soon l👍
Man, can’t wait for this one! One of my figures that survived my child hood and one of my favourites. Can’t wait to have this one in hand.
We can see what Mattel has planned this year at Toy Fair online coming up soon this month!
i love tung lashor, absolute must have. great review as always! he goes very well together with frog monger and the snake armor looks pretty cool on him as well.
Thanks so much for stopping in to check out his review! He is one of the best snakemen, yet because of his colors and strange looks! He is definitely a must-have once these start to get out there in retail or places like BBTS. He looks great with Frog Monger and Snake Armor Skeletor, not to mention alongside the other snakemen where he belongs👍
They butchered this figure 😢
@@geekillustratordad4982 They unfortunately cut the action features. I think as the Origins go forward were gonna keep seeing this because of the High tooling and Manufacturing costs that are so different from the 80s.
Tung Lashor vs Frog Monger, who wins?
Lol. Tung Lashor with one touch of poison from his tung!✌️
@@Themanchlid Nice. I have some Frogs Mongers, now i cant wait for the Tung Lashor. He was one of my favs as a kid!
@@dividendz Congrats on getting a Frog Monger! I really liked the way he came out for the Origins line. Tung Lashor is another Awsome looking figure. He was also one of my favorite Snake men figures as a kid!
But hopefully we can see something by Toy fair this month. Yeah I heard someone else mention Frog Mongers Buck could be a tease To Modulok coming. I only have the Classics one and that was really redisigned from the vintage. So from what I remember. I can see that buck used for that! That would be Awesome👍
Great figure, most wanted to me
Thanks for checking the review out! It's one of my favorite snakemen as a kid! He came out great for the Origins👍
But he is high on the list for many people👍
When is the whole Snakemen coming out
Mattel creations had them up for sale and sold out today!
Aqui no Brasil esse personagem se chama: Lança língua 😝 😝 😝
Lol. That's a funny name for this figure👍
@@Themanchlid yes... here in Brazil many characters had their names changed and they were funny.
Where did you order this guy from ?
The paulmart store had a couple but they all sold out!
Did you get it on ebay?i did👍
I found one on the paulmart store. But they sold out!
Time for someone to make third party tongues I guess.
Yes, definitely! I'm gonna make a longer one with a piece of flat cord, I think👍
I can live without the action feature but I don't like the the tongue clips in and out.
It would have been cool if he came with Two heads like the Classics tung lashor did. One closed month that looked like the vintage and And Open mouth with the Tongue hanging out. But I this is what we got in end! It's still cool to see him in Origins!
@@Themanchlid I agree, really good to get him. His head sits on the body better than I thought it would. I'm excited for him.
@@jzachery Yeah he's worth the pick up! I'm very glad they designed the head to sit on the body like that!
