So here we have Loco Roco. For me this was the first game I have ever associated with the PSP, it looked nothing like I had ever seen before and it played so weirdly. The game itself is a physics based 2D platformer where you have no direct control over your character the Loco Roco's instead you literally tilt the world and cause earthquakes to get them to their goal. The whole artistic direction is so cute it can barely be described with words. Not only is the game colorful as fuck with almost everything being rounded like a baby's toy but also the Loco's sing the BGM which changes depending on how many you have on the screen at the time as they can divide in order to get past obstacles. It's perfect for car rides as the main story gives you good 5 hours of fun not counting replays. Now onto bad things, the joy and bane of physics based platforming is that it's utterly unreliable, plus the camera in this game conspires against you at all times as your Loco will slide to the edge of the screen where you literally don't see what's up there, you can fall or jump into spikes or whatever else is there you had no chance to see. Plus the on rails uncontrollable sliding sections will sometimes make you lose your Locos on the way and you cant do nothing about it. Still the game's perfectly beatable just... nobody should subject themselves to trying to 100% it as the collectibles are really meanly hidden very often with absolutely no indication and trying to get them can often make you lose more than you gain as a reward. BTW to Nerds who care, I recorded this puppy off an actual PSP and played the game from a real UMD like a caveman.

It's not great cause it basically displays the tiny PSP resolution within the standard TV resolution with a huge black border around it. I managed to get it to look nice thanks to ossc upscaling it and cleaning up the image.

Yes, the remaster is more or less emulated PSP game with updated 2D assets, Hackers were even able to reverse engineer a PSP emulator for the PS4 based on this and Parappa
