    U r god bro :,)
    pd: Today there are more configurations, but just click "Done" and it will work, even if it says "probably will fail." At least that's how it works for me, haha.

    Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot. I faced a problem during the installation of the 22.04 LTS. I had to change the number of processors to 2, instead of just 1 as configured by default.

      That's pretty interesting because 1 CPU is Canonical's recommendation. Did you see any errors in the VM log window?

    A punnet of thanks to you for this excellent tutorial. Your ineluctable confidence and experience gave me the confidence to install the server version. Thank you so much! Garsoon coffee!

    Is better use the comandos ( to realize a minimal instalation (interface only): sudo apt-get install mate-core (apps included): sudo apt-get install mate-desktop-environment) to install graphic interface. But the tutorial is verry good, helped me, more one like

      While I agree that having a desktop environment on the server makes it easier to use, in the long run it hurts. The best way to learn Ubuntu server is CLI only because in the field, the server environment is mostly deployed as a container with minimal specs. Also, once you have setup the server and the applications you will host on, all of those software dependency for the DE are wasted space. The less packages and dependencies you have, the faster and easier it is to maintain a server. Also, thanks for the like! Much appreciated! 😀

    If you get a "Kernel Panic error" on installation, just be sure to have at least 2 processors. that's it.

      Try this:

      I have not had that issue before.

      Yeah! I'm trying to slow down my speech and screen movement but it is difficult to learn. Check out the newer version of this guide and also the site: cis106.com. Almost every video has a written guide.

    hello what the difference between the 22 the last version ?

    • @linuxworkshop6337
      @linuxworkshop6337  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      22.04 is the latest version. I believe I installed 22.04 in this video. If not, I will make a video installing 22.04 but the installation is almost the same. You may want to read this:
      itsfoss.com/ubuntu-20-04-vs-22-04/
      ubuntu.com/blog/ubuntu-22-04-lts-whats-
      new-linux-desktop
      In the desktop, there are a lot of differences but in the server not so much

    Hey can we get full screen resolution in ubuntu server by installing virtual box guest addition?

    • @linuxworkshop6337
      @linuxworkshop6337  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! even after installing the guest additions in Ubuntu server, you will not be able to go full screen because the guest additions package works with a graphical interface (desktop environment). Ubuntu server boots to a TTY terminal CLI only. What you can do is change the view of the VM to scaled or install a desktop environment if you really need it.

    How can this run 24/7 ??

    • @linuxworkshop6337
      @linuxworkshop6337  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you need a server to be ON 24/7, Virtualbox on your PC is only a solution if you are ready to pay that electric bill. For this scenario, you need a VPS (Digital Ocean and Linode are cheap and good).
      The purpose of this video is for local deployment and learning. For instance, if you are a student and need a server to deploy some application, this is great to test.
      You can use a Raspberry Pi, but those are not cheap anymore. However, Mini PCs are affordable; most run Linux with no problem and don't consume a lot of electricity. If you choose the Mini PC route, you don't need VirtualBox; do a physical installation instead. To access your server from outside your home network, use a Dynamic DNS service or port forwarding in your home router. The earlier is a better solution.
