Wild Chickens in Hawaii 夏威夷的野雞

During recent hurricanes, domestic chickens scattered when their coops were damaged from high winds. In many instances, domestic chickens bred with the wild chicken populations across the Hawaiian Islands.
It was interesting to watch chickens on the Big Island of Hawaii, on Kauai and even in Oahu where chickens were everywhere…… In fact, they were also in downtown Honolulu. Many local residents do not like these wild chickens because they eat food crops and the roosters are noisy with their calls to their flocks. On the other hand, they tolerate wild chickens because the tourists enjoy watching them so much.

近幾年夏威夷的颶風摧毀了許多養殖的雞籠。大風令雞籠裡的雞四散各地而家雞與野雞就這樣混合繁殖。
在夏威夷大島、考艾島，隨處可見雞野群。連檀香山市中心的公園都有牠們的蹤跡。許多當地居民不喜歡這些野雞，因為祂們吃糧食作物並且公雞的叫聲很吵。另一方面，基於遊客非常喜歡觀看祂們，居民也容忍野雞並製作許多有關野雞圖案的紀念品 ;)
