@@thatitalianlameguy2235 i mean to be fair galaxy 2 was mostly just a bunch of leftovers from galaxy 1, Odyssey 2 is probably much bigger. Plus galaxy 1 and 2 was a 3 year gap so odyssey 2 would have released in 2020, but since that was the pandemic it would have been delayed anyways

I dont really care how big it is, i just really want simple to understand, hard to master movement, and a fun game to speedrun, thats what i really enjoyed about odyssey. I hope cappy is back too

@@Konnordawg I'd like to think that too but it's been 5 and a half years since super Mario Odyssey and Nintendo doesn't seem to have any plans to make another 2d or 3d platformer I mean we're getting the Mario movie soon that seems to be the only thing on the roadmap for this year, and new hardware is inevitable at this point in time.

7:02 this have me goosebumps. I can’t believe all those years have got by so fast 😭 I remember when the switch came out, I got it for Christmas and I was in 6th grade. Now I’m about to become a senior 😭 this brings so many memories with my school friends and events. And the saddest part is that it won’t be the same cause I’m gonna be in college by then and my focus is gonna be diff. Man those years were fun 🥹

Honestly, Odyssey is heavily overrated. I'm much more interested is seeing them make something even MORE grand. Nintendo is about innovating their franchises and changing the meta every time.

bruh, I discovered Nintendo directs the exact same way, except when Luigi's Mansion 3 was revealed. I had no idea what directs were, or E3, and then Luigi's Mansion 3 was revealed on September 13 2018 and I couldn't have gotten more invested into it all.

I can still remember my mom coming back home and giving me super mario odyssey. I loved the game. There was so much to do.
I personally think we won't get a new 3D Mario game until the Switch 2. It's usually the case that we only get one 3D Mario title per console. The sole exception to that is Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii, and even that wasn't a completely new game with new level designs and concepts and stuff but just a sequel to the original Mario Galaxy, with Yoshi and a couple new power ups.
Mario 64 was the only 3D Mario for the N64. Sunshine was the only one for the Game Cube. 3D World was the only one for the Wii U, and many don't even call THAT a real 3D Mario title and instead more of a 2.5D one. Although an exception to the rule has obviously occurred before, I'd say don't get your hopes up too much for another Switch 3D Mario. It'd make it take longer for an original 3D game on the Switch 2, and big Mario games like these are typically released within the first year of a new console's life to drive sales. I think if we ARE getting a new Mario game at all this year, it's either going to be another disappointing, rushed sports game, or a new 2D platformer, as the Switch still doesn't have an original 2D Mario to speak of.

I ask this every time. Why would Nintendo release a brand new 3D Mario a year before their next generation? Why would they waste all that development time on a game for a soon to be replaced console? Why would they not have a 3D Mario in the first year of their next console like they have done for every piece of hardware since the DS?

@@arturocastroverde3349 Zelda games just do that. Majora’s Mask released in 2000 and the GameCube launched a year later, and Skyward Sword released in 2011 and the Wii U followed a year later. Also in both the case of the Wii and Switch, the Zelda games for those consoles weren’t even intended for them but were delayed to be launch titles for the system, and that’s why Skyward Sword and Tears of the Kingdom exist so their respective consoles could have a Zelda to call their own.

The new Mario game will be 2D, and will be as fresh and new as Super Mario World, with wacky cartoon graphics.
I played through odyssey in three days when it launched. I still have that save. I guess what kept me going was 'what comes next?' only thing I looked up was a hint on the rabbit mech boss before going to the moon.
Mario games have a thing for getting better with each entry. I hope that whatever this new game is, or if it's even in the works at all, it's something truly special.

It's crazy that I bought my switch on release, when my eldest son was 1 month old. Fast forward six years and he is now obsessed with Mario and Odyssey in particular. I know he will be so excited when the next big title drops!
I feel like a game to go with the movie would work. SpongeBob and others did it before and it worked. Plus the environments, music, and character design we’ve seen in the movie so far would look beautiful in a game.

i remember playing mario on the old NES i also remember my dad bringing home the super nintendo with super mario world. That game was the best. recently i went to watch the mario movie with my kids. wow time flies and mario has been there the whole time. what sets Nintendo apart is they still care about fun. They dont dissapoint. thank you nintendo for helping me build memories with my family.

That feeling of just being happy and having an amazing time with the family came when we sat to watch the "Super Mario Bros Movie" this weekend for my 35th birthday. This was the best moment that brought something truly special for our family and now I want the games, we all do lol. I had lost my joy for gaming, but does something so special with Mario that brings back the memories of younger years and sharing them with my now 8yo son. It's... Fun. I mean truly in a world that has become so dark, this is something that actually peeped up and said hi, let's clash and have a blast! 🎉🎉🎉

My son has played through Odyssey about 7 or 8 times now. He continues to go back and replay it, like I did replaying Ocarina of Time all those years back. It's something beautiful and nostalgic seeing your child's enjoyment in a video game or series you loved. Takes you back.

What's crazy is... I will be 45 in may and Mario was a huge part of my childhood... reading Nintendo power for months about Mario 3...I will always be a Nintendo fan.
From a marketing standpoint, smartest thing to do would reveal it now, and release it shortly after the movie. (By shortly I mean around the holidays)
You forgot that you are talking about Nintendo. They take every bad marketing choice that they could take. The only thing that saved their rep a bit is the Mario movie that's coming soon
They could easily pull off open world Mario .
The world would be about half the size of breath of the wild . There would be seven castles that u must beat to gain enough power to beat bowser . They would be spread about …..a few of them hidden in underground layers ….1 up in sky reached by finding vine .
Areas would be very full of things to do but look organic to the landscaping.
Have huge underground areas and secret paths . Have a couple hidden ghost houses ect .

I think that the teaser for this new Mario game might be when the Mario movie is coming out. April 7th. I was in 1st grade when Mario Odyssey came out, now I’m in middle school!
Mario and Zelda have recently gone hand in hand when it comes to releases starting with Mario 3d world and A link between worlds launching simultaneously, then followed up with Mario Odyssey launching a few months after Breath of the Wild. Right now they're focusing and getting people hyped for the Mario movie but I have a feeling that they're gonna drop a trailer for a new game alongside the movie, maybe after the credits roll, that would be an Amazing surprise. If that's the case then it's pretty much a given that its gonna release a few months after Tears of the Kingdom. Here's Hoping!

Hearing you mention being 25 and the first game you really remember getting was Sunshine reminds me how lucky I was.
I am 40 so I got an NES when I was 5, and the first big new game I got to experience was Super Mario Bros 3. Easily THE biggest game release ever at that point in time, and one of the few to truly get a big hype machine behind it. Having a Movie essentially be one big ad for it.
I still remember needing to go to a local video rental store daily asking when one was finally available, and having to eventually convince the clerk to save it for me when it came back in.
I am the exact same age and basically have the exact same story. 1987 was a good year.
