Wow...good haul. I never tasted beaver jerky before...how does it taste. Do you mainly do jerky with most of them or do you do other meals with them? I was told stew was good also...but never made it either...then again I never had the meat before. Have a blessed day my friend 💞👍
Josh we have put up more fur than you know. You must not trap if you don't know the work involved in what was done just to get these animals to the house.
@@lazypondfarmfishhunt I totally understand the work. My pride and appreciation for the critters won’t allow me to not continue the work. I’ve trapped 38 years and have never sold an unfinished fur. I guess it’s a different world now. I’m seeing that more and more every day. I just thought some people have the same passion, until they show that they don’t. I’m an old Top Lot guy. I guess videos pay more than the fur now days. Passions have definitely changed.
Would you mind giving a sale (ballpark) number? I follow traplines & inlines & I believe his best yote pelt from an auction hit $177.00 (US I think maybe canadian) He sells mostly skinned and fleshed dry pelts. I didn't realize buyers would take whole frozen carcasses. Saves a ton of work. Do you lose $ on frozen animals? TFS
Yes money is lost but in order to make money some of our buyers will only take whole animals.... or a mix. Good size whole beaver sell for 12. Southern yote we are lucky to get 20.
@@ronsmith1364 Gotta have a buyer lined up and know what they want. Thats why we have switched gears to start chasing Raccoon, our buyer wants 500 whole so that's what we have started chasing. Some buyers may not want whole, all depends on their plans for the year/room to hold work in their freezers.
You hunt an trap been makeing lire an bait an also hunting lure....makes I ng for 25 plus years....shoot me your address an I will send u some to use......they are the deal deal
That would be awesome! We would love to showcase a sample from you. We are in full swing trapping now and would put it straight to use! Kevinwsibley@gmail.com
We actually get paid more for whole animal than we do skinned out because our buyer sells skulls and uses glands. We are happy with what we do but thanks for your input.
That's very interesting. Good to hear how other people do things. Hear In Canada 🇨🇦 we get more for pelts done up ready for auction. If we want to sell skunk essence, skunk glands or coyote glands for example we can message lure makers to buy them
Amazing. Great job guys.
