Theres no shame in vanlife!, Vanlifers are some of the happiest people in the world!, No rent or mortgage, no electricity bills, no bad neibours and no lawns to mow!. Go and apply for the un-employment benefit, its nearly $800 per fortnight and you are entitled to it, with no rent and no utilitys costs you will be living quite well off and can retire early, travel and chill out and relax and enjoy life, let go of all the past shit in your life and leave it all behind you and Van Halen as you drive off into the sunset for new adventures and new people and things in your life, get a little dog to travel with, it wont ever betray you or rip you off. Im on social security in my sprinter van and i live like a king, i got rid of all the fuckheads in my life and ive never been happier!. Support and respect from Melbourne!.
Thanks for your awesome tips and authentic share, I totally agree. I’m actually not stuck in the past, but just sharing my story in the hope by doing so it will inspire someone else to live their best life too. Instead of getting hung up with material shit we will never take with us, only adding to the demise of our planet through landfill destruction.
Right on Man, totally agree with you. Some people, not all, will take advantage of you, you just have to so protect yourself with the economic system which has been created as the all mighty dollar as god.

Since you paid rent--sue her for back wages for cleaning the air BNB. She owes you money for your labor in the business. No judge will look kindly on her for that.

2.5 years living van life for me. Extremely high rent pushed me to find other ways to live. I purchased a van for 7k and have been in van ever since. At first it's an inconvenience but you find ways to adapt. I work full time and able to save a lot of money, I have zero regrets.

Thanks for sharing Donna-Leigh - betrayal of trust is quite sobering as I’ve experienced at the hands of car salesman, real estate agents and the like to the high sum of thousands of dollars - I’m still breathing oxygen, have my own place and privacy but trust very few now in my senior years - greed is now so prevalent via scammers I don’t even answer my mobile now - but your enthusiasm for new projects demonstrates your resilience and tenacity for life - safe travels.
John I want to say a BIG thank you for your encouraging words and support. You are definitely right when it comes to scammers. Just had one on my credit card today.

Perhaps suggest a trip to the ato and advise them of the income your friend took as I'm sure they would be interested. Also, any capital gains the property made because it was run as a commercial business. Just saying.

Where do people go if their van home breaks down though 😢 that would be my main concern
I guess stay with a friend or relative, or book an Airbnb until it was fixed. There is always a solution.
Hi Donna I’m so sorry about what happened your friend wasn’t a true friend she was just using you & your daughter right from the beginning if any opportunities ever arise always go through a lawyer no matter what it’s most important that you protect yourself & your belongings never rely on trust & verbal agreements put yourself first also if you have a few thousand dollars you can join the Liberation Movement & start your own franchise business which is a really good way to become an entrepreneur

So how was your friend paying the mortgage? You got 3 years rent free. Not much to do air b and b. Still got free rent.
I paid rent. At the end it was $800 per week.
She didn’t have a mortgage

800 a week? So $3200 per month? Times how many months? I would sue the arse off her!! No paperwork might be a problem though! Verbal agreements are the worst thing to ever do to yourself and now you know why. I’m sorry that you’re going through this! You sound a lot like me! I use to get myself into some terrible situations and ended up losing so much money, because I’m a trusting person. But I’ve learned my lesson too many times to count.
I really hope you go after this horrible person and get $100k back or MORE from the pain and suffering that it’s caused you and your daughter!
You’re a beautiful woman and I think you’ll probably do well on TH-cam if you can edit videos and make interesting content for your viewers! You can make a lot of money off TH-cam if you know how to do it.
I just bought a van 🚐 and getting it ready to hit the road. I’m going to try and be ready by August bc my lease expires then. I’m starting to sell my personal belongings to raise money for my travels and to make sure my van is safe to drive long distances. It’s a 2010 Ford Transit Connect but has a lot of miles on her! So mechanical stuff is my first priority right now. However, I’ve already started to finish the build out but thankfully it was partially done by the previous owner. So I’m just changing a few things that will make me more comfortable and make it feel like “me”.
I wish I was in Australia! That would be an amazing place to do van life!

No it’s definitely not a problem. It just wasn’t expecting of the way I would’ve chosen to do it. Being ripped off by anyone never feels good.

Yes that’s how life should be but it doesn’t always work out that way. If you have seen my 30 years in Australia now living in a van video you will see what I mean.
