I got the Milwaukee power pruner a few months ago to use for out of reach limbs in my tracked aerial lift .. I have used it more on the ground ! I love it 🎉❤😅

Great job the tree looks lovely! Two things to contribute - 1, I’m a fan of grundens deck boss boots for soft feet on delicate barks, and 2, you should give the Stihl PP101 (made by ARS) a try! I got it on a recommend from a colleague (bcma), and I loved it so much I went out and bought a second one. Best extension pole pruner ever - precision. I use it more than just about anything else in my pruning arsenal. Happy pruning! 🌳
The “14 bar from the top handle fits that pole saw and runs flawlessly. No perceptible loss of power. I’ve run a number of battery and gas pole saws and the Milwaukee is the best.
With pruning I tend to be conservative and explane to the customer what can and can't be done. Which two weeks a go let to me removing a tree and they will plant a new one. It was "mangeled" in the past and there was no way I could prune it so the customer would be satisfied with the end result. I explained them from a to z how you would normally prune such a tree species and showed them why that wasn't possible anymore. And altough they were sad because of the end effect that it wasn't going to live up to their expectations, they were very happy about how I explaned it to them. Which let to me removing the tree and in the future pruning the new tree. "I don't want your money, I want your bussiness".

Just pruned a mulberry that was beating up on a couple other small trees. right on about definition and reclaiming.. also a lot of wisteria and english ivy to dig out or cut the leaders- .that stuff sure can make a jungle out of a backyard

I wonder if people are still delaying the big tree work that you usually prefer, pushing you to do the smaller jobs? I greatly appreciate the explanation of the one third rule of pruning. I have personally butchered many trees due to ignorance and agree complete decapitation not only upsets the tree, it also makes it look utterly hideous. I wish I learnt this sooner. With a smaller garden, sometimes we have to shape things just to keep the trees from crowding out all the light - or each other. Tree choice is where i try to start now I have a better understanding, but most of ours were here before us and we have strict rules about what were allowed to remove in sydney. If somethng dies, i am always a bit thrilled i can plant something better! Arent the silky saws great? I have a good collection now and prefer them to my small chainsaw because I am not agile like you! Have a great day!
I will rarely top ornamental trees, but if the customer wants to keep the tree and removal is the only other option, I'll do it. I almost never top a "real" tree unless it's got a dying top and the customer doesn't want removal.

August, I can't believe you would be so reckless. No hardhat, no safety glasses, no road signs, no saddle, not 100 times tied in while holding a hand saw. No 10 ways of communication. Just willy nilly throwing limbs out of the tree. Haha. Great job homie and great explanation.
my dear old mum had what she called a snowball tree in her garden it was on the boundary next door hated it as it at the end of flowering make such a white carpet of flowers on the ground but it was nice any way my dad said give me a hand to prune this tree which ment you cut it i will clean up so having picked the worse time of day to do it the sun was in my eyes i couldn't see a thing so i am up a ladder and dads shouting instructions down a bit more chop this chop that well at the end we had given this tree such a short back and sides its was definitely pruned my mum was less than impressed we had taken far too much out of the tree , well the new growth that followed and the blossom was more than ever before so both dad and i were forgiven ps i am no gardener even now
How well does the Milwaukee pruner work on dry dead branches? I bought a Dwalt pruner a few years ago and it was useless on dry branches. I could cut faster with my manual pole saw.
Tree Removals are straight forward. I hate the ambiguity in pruning. You never know if the customer is completely satisfied, or if you matched their artistic vision. I ask for their opinions, probably too much.

All of the troubleman in my area are using these Milwaukees. Way lighter than a stihl gas rig and plenty of power to prune vegetation.

My mother in law had some huge overgrown bushes. I think I broke some of the rules because she asked me to really take down the height and size.
