    Lyrics:
Love me, love me, love me, say you do
Let me fly away with you
For my love is like the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Give me more than one caress
    Satisfy this hungriness
Let the wind blow through your heart
For wild is the wind, wild is the wind
    You touch me
I hear the sound of mandolins
    You kiss me
With your kiss my life begins
You're spring to me, all things to me
Don't you know, you're life itself
Like the leaf clings to the tree
Oh, my darling, cling to me
For we're like creatures of the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
    You touch me
I hear the sound of mandolins
    You kiss me
With your kiss my life begins
You're spring to me, all things to me
Don't you know, you're life itself!
Like the leaf clings to the tree
Oh, my darling, cling to me
For we're like creatures of the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Wild is the wind, wild is the wind
    Wild is the wind
    About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

When I was in the hospital and thought I would die from cancer I would play this song and it would give me absolute peace. Here I am 7 years later and very much alive and still playing “Wild Is The Wind.” Hope you touch Iman like a leaf that clings to a tree.

To be the one he chose to live the remainder of his life with. Would I have been able to fill that void in his heart? Monumental task or if the timing was right, a natural colliding of souls?

Likewise and even more so now that he is gone. I've been literally in tears listening to this entire album tonight alone in my bedroom and for once not picking up one of my guitars, plugging in and playing along with every song as I've done since the vinyl album came out. If it wasn't for seeing Bowie & Mick Ronson on TV in 1973 performing his last show as Ziggy when I was 9 years old.. I wouldn't still be playing guitar today at the age of 59. David & Mick back in 1973 influenced and inspired me to play guitar for the rest of my life. Both of them were musical spiritual gifts to me, to have the ability to learn their music by ear and play guitar just as they did. I love you both like older brothers and my favorite guitar teachers and that includes Earl Slick and Carlos Alomar

I bought the single when it came out back in the late seventies. I was studying for a B.Ed at Gipsy Hill college in Kingston upon hill in London. That’s where I met the love of my life who was Dutch and came over for afew weeks to study. We maintained a strong relationship for four years , keepiing in touch with letters and putting money into telephone boxes. We loved each other so much. I saved up to go to the Netherlands every six weeks and he did the same to come to see me. Travelling on the ferry to see each other. This song reminds me of when I so longed for him and waited for the day when we could be together again. After forty years we are still in contact, and I am glad about that..

Fun fact: Many of Bowie's singles are _very_ shortened compared to their original album versions. Some of the shortenings are reasonable, like this song (5:58 to 3:34), "Heroes" (6:07 to 3:32), Let's Dance (7:37 to 4:08), Absolute Beginners (8:03 to 5:36), Little Wonder (6:02 to 3:40), Lazarus (6:22 to 4:05), and this album's Station to Station (10:14 to 3:40). Then there are others which I just think are unnecessarily shortened, such as Young Americans (5:10 to 3:11), Fashion (4:46 to 3:23), Ashes to Ashes (4:23 to 3:35), Modern Love (4:46 to 3:56), Jump They Say (4:22 to 3:53), Thursday's Child (5:24 to 4:25), Slow Burn (4:43 to 3:55), Everyone Says 'Hi' (3:59 to 3:29), New Killer Star (4:40 to 3:43), and this album's Golden Years (4:00 to 3:29). Strangely enough, however, when Bowie released the song "Blackstar" from his final album as a single, it was not shortened from its whopping length of 9:57. Then again, if it was, the song would probably lose a lot of its effect, as was the case with Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes", and Absolute Beginners imo. I strongly recommend giving the full versions of these songs a listen if you haven't before.

MattCraftDotDerp hi! Awesome fact! I usually only listen to CDs so I hear album versions most of the time, but I have heard a couple of those songs on the radio like golden years and modern love, and I can’t believe I never noticed the change, lol. I think they are shortened trying to get the “sweet spot” of 3-5 minutes for radio play. They seem to try to lean on the side of 3, without taking too much away from the song. Did it truly help his radio play? I guess we’ll never really know. Or perhaps it increased his album sales due to people really liking the singles and wanting to hear the full versions.

I love this song "Wild Is The Wind" by him from 1976 title track album Station To Station on the RCA label. Life can be a Bitch that good decent people who made mistakes from their demons have to leave early while ignorant senseless A-Holes can have a longer Lifespan. Bowie went back to the star ship as his 1972 alter persona ego Ziggy Stardust. Plus he was known as The Thin White Duke and just went back to being just plain David Bowie. He was a Blackstar. Rest in paradise Starman.

This song shows the range he can sing. Something about his voice makes me feel content, sad and reminiscent of my life, probably because his music was part of my life for so long. He has passed on as well as many of my family and friends that I went to his concerts with. So, I feel sad and miss the people who passed (as well as the good times), but the music remains.
