I agree. Kinnporche is really bold move. They should have started with Sotus. I mean, if any BL cp can get you hooked without wanting you to run away.. It would be KongArt
KinnPorsche being your first BL experience is WILD! 😂 Welcome to the club, because once you start you can't stop lol. Thai, Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese/Chinese BL are absolutely top tier, and each of them does so well portraying stories in their own styles.
I would not lump Taiwanese and Chinese into the same BL group. Taiwan has awesome BL shows since they were the first Asian nation to recognize same sex marriage and to have marriage equality. Whereas China actively censors BL and has bans on showing same sex relationships in media. Also, don't forget Vietnamese BL, especially from Ō2 Productions! 😁
actually the only top tier BL making countries are Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand. I cannot believe you added Korea AND CHINA? in that list absolutely notttt did u forget what happed with ADDICTED (2016)
@politicalblink Korean BL isn't as ... how to phrase it ... intimate ( Not really what I'm looking for, but it'll do I guess) as Japan, Thailand and Taiwan but that is also them being true to their culture. Korea as a whole is significantly more reserved as a whole and their BL media reflects that. However, we can't say they don't make some good ones. They're are some wonderful Korean BL's out there!! I'm not going to look up anything to remind myself what I've seen, but off the top of my head I can recall Light on Me, Semantic Error, Long Time No See, Just Friends, Eighth Sense, To My Star, Roommates of Poonduck 304 ... just to make a few. 😊 And budget is much lower in Vietnamese BL, but there are a few excellent ones from there as well. Most everything from Ō2 Productions, Follow My Sunshine, Tien Bromance, My Monster in Law ... I know there are others, but I'm too lazy to look up anything. 😂
I think BL's aren't always about the queer experience the way they are in the western media. Sometimes they are, but often times it's just a regular romance but gay. Take any highschool/uni/office romance story and make the main characters both male and that is BL. A lot of BL's only have queer relationships, nobody is straight. They also often don't have homophobia in their worlds. And you also have a separate genre called GL, it's not as popular as BL but very up and coming
I would respectfully like to disagree that BL's "don't have homophobia in their worlds" as you claim. Just look at the mess that homophobia made for the characters in Until We Meet Again. Also, in Tonhon Chonlatee. Another few examples would be Long Time No See, The Eclipse, Bed Friend, To Sir With Love, His, Together With Me, Your Name Engraved Herein, History 3: Make Our Days Count... and so many others! 😊
@@kajiraangel166 i think what OP said that it "often doesnt have homophobia in the world" is definitely true for older series, but I think we've seen a shift in media coming out of the BL genre in thailand/taiwan/japan addressing more "real life" stories or issues so to speak for sure
@@kajiraangel166 "Often"... I never said always. There's many with but I'd say more without. A lot of the simple highschool, uni shows homophobia is not portrayed. It's shown more in the newer stuff but like 2021/2022 they made a lot of shows with no homophobia
@Heleenvk Just for the record, I didn't use "always" or even suggest that you said "always" either. I just think that homophobia is more prevalent in BL than many people think. Sometimes it's only one parent or a couple people, but it's quite prevalent.
BL originated from Japan where in otakus fantasize about 2 males being in a romance. Later then in Thailand, it went mainstream and 2 males became "in a real relationship" than it being an otaku's fantasy.
8th sense is a masterpiece! I've never watched a BL where I was so anxious every episode! That wait every week killed me. Can I also please add I Feel You Linger In The Air as a recommendation???
I’m so excited! Thank you for doing this reaction! This is the perfect time too, Thailand just passed Marriage Equality in their country this week, the first country in South East Asia to do so. 🎊🎉💖
I am a 77 yr old grandma from the US. I was introduced to bl when my trans grandchild asked me to watch it with him. Wait for it! It is coming!! Enjoy! By the way there is an uncut version also.❤️🤟
People/reactors always said why Kinn need a body guard when he was so good fighting himself? Well, if you got a higher chance at surviving without risking and tiring yourself then why not do it.. Why bother fighting yourself when you're literally more than capable paying for bodyguards😅 Looking forward for next KP reactions!
I'm so excited you are reacting to this. Kinnporsche was my first BL. I've been watching western queer media since the '90s, but had never heard of the BL genre before seeing Tik Tocks about Kinnporsche. I checked it out, and was hooked instantly. Can't wait to see your reactions!
Watching KP as your first BL is less jumping into the deep end of the pool on your first swim and more jumping into the ocean lmao this is about to be wild
Also, KP is probably the most expensive Thai BL made to date, I believe. So don’t expect the same production quality for other BLs going forward (doesn’t mean others aren’t great tho)
There's so many good bls out there!! Just looking at Thailand alone, Bad Buddy (2021), Manner of Death (2020), The Sign (2023), Triage (2022), Not Me (2021), and Moonlight Chicken (2023). There is a growing GL industry, especially in Thailand. Out of dramas that are currently out, GAP (2022) and 23.5 (2024) are probably the best ones, but there are a lot currently in development and airing! Increasingly more BLs have side and supporting characters of different identities too so you can find representative of most common identities these days (tho it bears noting that there is sometimes a different cultural understanding of gender and sexuality that doesn't always align with the common western ideas). A lot of bls (and now gls) are directed and/or written by openly queer creators as well. Off the top of my head there's Aof, an opnely gay man, who wrote/directed Bad Buddy (2021), He's Coming to Me (2019), A Tale of Thousand Stars (2021), and Moonlight Chicken (2023), Jojo another gay man who wrote/directed 3 Will Be Free (2019) (technically a poly show with a m/m/f relationship), Never Let Me Go (2022), and Only Friends (2023), Golf, who was the first trans MP in Thailand and also was the first to introduce the marriage equality bill that just got passed, and they directed The Eclipse (2022) and Wandee Goodday (2024). Another fun feature of Thai shows in general, is that a lot are officially available for free on youtube! GMMTV is the biggest for sure. They have a lot of shows on youtube. Idol Factory is another! The episodes are usually split into at least 4 parts, breaking where commercials would go. I will say one more thing as people who are new to this type of queer content, probably hold off on anything made before 2020 for a bit. While there are definitely some really good ones, unfortunately, the genre as a whole was definitely lacking as much queer input and engaged in some more problematic and negative tropes. I think there's still a lot of good shows from this era, but I think you would be better served watching things just from the past couple years first to understand where the genre is at right now before seeing where it was at beforehand. Anyways Thai queer media is one of the most diverse genres plotwise I have ever encountered. It's got everything from dark crime thrillers to cute fluffy highschool romcoms. If there is a genre or type of show you want to see with queer characters, I can almost guarantee that Thailand has got you (provided it's a genre that exists in Thai culture lol)
Another thing to be aware of when watching Thai Bls in particular is the sponsorships! nearly every show out there will have at least one sponsor, resulting in at least one blatant sponsorship plug. how these get integrated vary by the show, tho Kinnporsche has some of the funniest (you'll see when they show up). actually the one scene where you joked about Porsche doing poppers was one of them (it's nasal spray brand that's supposed to boost your energy, they're fairly common in Thailand). anytime you seem some branded product with the logo facing the camera, especially if it feels like the plot just kinda stopped for a moment or the characters start talking about how good the product is, you can be fairly certain that it's a sponsorship deal. One of the cool things about that though is that you can really tell how the genre has become more and more mainstream as bigger brands are doing deals nowadays! Anyways I hope you continue posting your reactions to Kinnporsche! I can't wait to see y'alls reaction to Tankhun XD and everything going on with Vegas! And I hope you'll be watching more BL (and GL) in the future!
Glad you mentioned how especially nowadays there are so many openly queer people working on these series, because that 'made by straigh cis women for other straight cis women' is still so prevelant way to discribe BL. And we have a lot more openly queer actors/actresses as well within the Thai QL and in Taiwanese too I believe. Not that any of the people working on these things own the fans their gender identity or sexuality, but it is still very nice to see more and more people are comfortable to come out and leave their mark to these series. (And of course depending on where they live coming out might not be even a viable option at all.) I also agree, there's so much diversity within the stories - BL/GL/QL as a whole but also specifically in Thailand in these past few years. It is wonderful to see, now the only thing that's really lacking is older main characters (give me love story of middle aged men or two grandma's falling in love) and more diverse body types. But of course the industry is still quite young, not even really a decade since it all started. The growth since the 2014-2016 early series is quite shocking to think, in a very positive way. And one thing with Thai QL is that nowhere else have I seen as many trans/non-cis characters and actresses/actors as in these series. Sure at the beginnign they were often the comedic relief without much depth but thats not the case always. That as well is so wonderful to see and I hope we will start to see more main characters as well who are trans.
@@nevergiveupbozo oh it's the best. And by the midpoint of the show somehow it's also the least shocking thing about it? Pit babe the wildest ride ever
I am glad you are reacting to a thai bl series but wished you started with an older series (the bl genre has grown over the past few years, due to popularity and international viewership) Same sex marriages was legalised a few days ago in thailand. Fantastic news!
I'm so excited for your journey into thai BLs, I am once again recommending I Told Sunset About You and its sequel: I Promised You the Moon, it's a masterpiece with 5 episodes each, it's a coming of age story and one of the main actors is queer in real life. Recommending My School President too for a good vibe show with great singing involved.
BL is all over East Asia, not just south. 7:02 Remember this is Thailand so unless they mention it being something else it's Thai Baht they talking about when it comes to money and 50K THB is less than 1400 USD. 1400 USD is of course still a lot of money especially in Thailand but he did not ask for 50K USD, GBP or EUR.
Just a clarification : in many countries over the world family names like "uncle" or " auntie" are used as termes of respect and indicate closeness. It doesn't necessarily mean you are blood related .
I laughed out loud seeing your reaction to the kidnapping (and the "popper") - you two are actually perfect for reacting to this show since you're hilarious and I can't wait to see your reaction to certain scenes. Just keep in mind that it's a mafia show so it keeps on being toxic and problematic (there's also cute moments) so try to not watch it through the lense of watching a high school drama or something.😭😅 And yes, I adore Porsche's Attitude as well. 🙏🙌
@@marionyanez4870well that s their style. And the show is longer than most Bls. Anyway we have all rewatched it many tmes, it's not like the episodes are new to us.
Just a heads up when it comes to Thai bls most of them have that very dramatic over the top cringe comedy and sound effects so you’ll have to get used to it😭 also so glad to see you guys reaction❤
Thai comedy in general is very slide whistle heavy. When I showed comedy movies in my culture class I went with stuff that had a bit of slapstick because it was far more likely to land while also getting the greater issue - usually the variety in English accents - across. My students really liked Princess Bride and Singing in the Rain, for example. I showed those for YEARS and they were consistent crowd pleasers despite being older. (On top of having great practice listening to accents and lessons on language practice hidden in entertainment, lol)
Yes this! When I first watched KinnPorsche the second episode threw me a bit with the comedy. But the whole experience was fantastic and set me off on my thai bl obsession!
KinnPorsche as a first BL is INSANE. Also I need to know peoples opinions on the theme song because KinnPorsches intro is my favorite intro ever I think the main reason that I started watching KinnPorsche was because Jeff Satur is part of one of the side couples and I go absolutely insane over him and his music. Honestly he's one of my favorite Thai music artists and I'm so happy that he's back in the tv industry again
SO happy you're reacting to this fabulous but also quite wild show! :D Many morally grey areas in this show. But well, they are the mafia, haha Maybe a few things that will be good for you to know. Some context but no spoilers, I swear! 1. Calling someone aunt or uncle in thai doesn't mean that they are necessarily related by blood. It can also be another adult friend of the family, or someone older you're close with 2. Many/most BL shows has sponsorships, which goes beyond just product placement but they are written into the show. Like the thing you joked about being poppers. It's called an inhaler which can like freshen/wake you up 3. For some odd reason, the translator for the subtitles for this show, sometimes "censor" the swear words. So in future episodes they are not saying fudge or fricking, but regular words which would translate to shit and fuck :D
I hope you keep watching, everybody in this show is queer, it's a little campy (I love camp) it's super fun, and OH BOY, you guys haven't met Vegas yet...
As an ammeter movie reviewer from Hong Kong, I would like to share with you my top 10 BL TV dramas. 1. I Told Sunset About You 2. I Feel You Linger in the Air 3. More Than Words 4. Heartstopper 5. Gaya Sa Pelikula (Like in the Movies) 6. Young Royals 7. KinnPorsche the Series 8. Light on Me 9. Love, Victor 10. My Love Mix-up
Awesome! It seems that you have watched a lot of BL TV dramas. More Than Words is from Japan and it is NOT a typical Asian BL TV drama. It feels realistic and the director takes the plot seriously. It is simply very different from other BL TV drams, like a breath of fresh air.
Gaya Sa Pelikula (Like in the Movies) has a good cast, a well written script and memorable songs that match each scene. It deserves a lot of attention indeed.
Love that ur delving into Thai bl, there’s lots of super talented people and queer individuals both in front and behind the camera. Kinnporsche has become a corner stone of the genre but it is definitely a mafia show with a lot of mature/ potentially triggering themes so just a heads up to be aware. Some stories can still fall into harmful/questionable grey areas with some themes, especially older shows. Personally I feel Kinnporsche is relatively responsible with its take, considering its setting and tone. Other Thai bl that handle their themes well, and have interesting explorations of queer and Thai culture, I’d recommend Moonlight Chicken (ensemble drama about intersections of poverty, disability, adulthood and queerness) and Not Me (political action about class division, law and societal change).
Lol I’m a simple girl…. I see any KinnPorsche reaction I automatically react.😂😂 Hopefully you guys enjoy. KinnPorsche is definitely a interesting series fr . Whether you like it or not, still glad everyone’s hardwork is getting recognized.
After Kinnporsche I'd highly recommend watching also some BL romcom such as the *My School President* , *Wedding Plan* , or the currently airing *Wandee Goodday* ! BL and GL have their own history as a genre - they are queer stories obviously but as a genre there are a lot of things specific to BL for example that differ from your typical western queer series. QL as in Queer Love has also started to pick up momentum within the fandom. And in recent years we are getting more and more variety in the series from Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, South-Korea and some from Viatnam and the Philippines as well. And China is it's own entire thing.
@@Cookie_moonlove Well that's a personal preference. It's just part of the storytelling style, just like there's certain comedic styles in western romcoms. I'm totally embracing even the possible cringiness and enjoying the positive queer stories as well as the serious ones^^ I love that nowadays we have _both_ more mature series like Manner of Death, I Feel You Linger in the Air and Moonlight Chicken as well as these heartwarming romantic comedies that sometimes do also have actually more depth than they people give them credit for.
1:38 bl usually covers those genres because they usually have a lot of side stories. But specifically in thailand they actually call these Y-Series for yaoi and yuri so its now evolved into covering all queer stories ❤
'Not Me' is my absolute favourite Thai BL. I'd absolute love a reaction from you two. It's not a coming out story, it's more of an action series, where a twin steps into his brothers footsteps to figure out who hospitalised his brother. It has some romance, but mainly focused on social activism and corruption. (Also it has a life drawing scene, that will forevermore be ingrained into my brain.) The series is completely on youtube. So with easy access. I am not even going to harp on about how Gun (one of the main actors) slayed his role as twins.
bl is a tricky industry cuz it has a lot of pink money and straight people (authors, actors and producers) involved BUT there are some really good works in the middle of that. besides, each country has its own style of bl. japan for example makes great stories but are a really straight-based industry, while thailand makes a LOT of shows that sometimes aren't that good or expensive but are much more queer-oriented, produced by queer people, with trans and gay people featuring and even directing and all that
Don't know if someone already said it but the "popper" 😂 is actually an Eucalyptus pepper mint inhaler, very common in SEA and Thailand because of the humidity
welcome to the world of BL! i think the very best show to watch as an introduction to the genre is Semantic Error. its very high budget, well shot, and the story and chemistry is on point. its one of the best bl i've watched and the one i recommend to people just being introduced to the genre
Sorry but if they started with KP I don't think any bl would be the same level😣 Semantic Error is good but not THIS great(imo) NOT ME would be great to follow KP
I'm just gonna leave my favorite BLs here lol: Manner of Death (2020) Not Me (2021) Triage (2022) To Sir With Love (2022) Until We Meet Again (2019) Grey Rainbow (2016) Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul (2022) *edit: i wasn't gonna add this one bc it's a bit chessy, but the leads in this show are the same ones from Grey Rainbow and their chemistry is great* I've watched many BLs (KinnPorsche included), but the ones I listed stuck with me the most 💛Just a warning tho, most of them include a slow burn romance between the leads. Manner of Death may be the only one where you know there's attraction right away
So happy I found your channel so I can come along for the journey ❤ I'd highly recommend Last Twilight or Not Me for your next show because just like KinnPorsche, they don't feature queer relationships as the main attraction, instead it's treated just like any other relationship and I appreciate it so much compared to mainstream western media that seem to think the only important trait of someone queer is that they're queer!!
and u really decided to start with one of the most popular BL shows and also one that kind of changed the whole BL industry forever. GOOD LUCK hahahaha
Guys, you had me at " KinnPorsche. " I subscribed straight away. I loooove that you have so little idea what you are getting into. I could wax lyrical about this show, and I wouldn't be the only nor the last one. It's addictive, I warn you. Messy at times, sure, but Apo and Mile have great chemistry, Jeff Satur's OST turned him into a star ( cue the reaction vids on YT), Bible exploded with this first time acting part, and Tong is going to give you PLENTY of Queer. I love that it's your first tme watching a BL. KP had a big budget and its making is a whole saga in itself ( long story short : don't expect a season 2) so it is a bit atypical, more westernized than the average Thai bl. BL industry is the country soft power, the production has really acxelarated in the last 2 or 3 years. Anyways, I'll sure be back for episode 2.
kinnporsche as a first bl is WILD 😆 now it'll either be hard to find the next series to watch that will keep you excited as much as KP or seeing this genre/theme will make you think of another that you would want to see 😆 JUST REMEMBER: if you have any genre/plot/pairing you'd want to see, name it and we'll have recommendations for it, be it slice of life, romcom, angst, more action, university life, thriller even fantasy 😆 we have thai, korean, filipino, japanese, taiwanese, chinese. (but i think i, personally, could only recommend few that would be on par with the cinematography of this one, bc dang KP is such an art, my photography-editing obsessed ass went crazy as much as my pan self watching this 😆) new subscriber here, excited for your feaction to this and maybe for a future bl again!! much love!!
It’s so funny that you’re watching this as your first bl, like I’m quite astonished but I hope u enjoy it. Like there is nothing to compare this bl to, it stands alone!! It’s that’s good. I will say with thai bl and a lot of bl it is quite fictionally written and not as realistic as western queer media, so it can be a bit “laughable” at times but that makes it fun.
on one hand, i agree that starting with KinnPorsche is a bold move, but on the other, i am kind of glad that you chose a series that doesnt sugar coat queer relationships and has a plot that is aided by the relationship drama, not the other way around. a lot of BL content, coming from thai media specifically, is very top/bottom and stereotype based. granted, things couldve changed by now, ive taken a break since KinnPorsche finished. but KinnPorsche is one of those unique series that stands out as far less female-gaze oriented than other BL dramas.
I do want to say if you are getting started into BL. Be. Careful. Don't go treading into dangerous waters without a life jacket because shows like this can get triggering. I had to stop watching KinnPorsche for a while because of that reason. I highly suggest looking at trigger warnings as you go on because the show gets DARK. It's an incredible story with so many incredible characters (Tankhun my love ❤) but it is a dark romance for all three main couples. So, all in all, have fun with these shows and do it safely. A couple of BLs I recommend: Only Friends (if you like gay mess and drama) Bad Buddy (If you want a conemporary enemies to lovers) Not Me (If you'd like activism and brotherhood) Semantic Error (For a short comfort enemies to lovers) A Boss and A Babe (If you'd like a humorous office setting) Cherry Magic (If you'd like a cute office setting, I do prefer the japanese version tho) Never Let Me Go (Somewhat like KinnPorsche except make them teenagers in high school) My Stand-In (Currently ongoing, but its another dark as hell romance. Please look at TW's before watching) Love In The Air (This was my first BL, and if you want something that's contemporary but a whole lot more mature, this is the one. The first few episodes are... something but when you reach the second couple, your whole view will change. Please look up TW's for this one as well, it's not a dark romance (ish) but there are themes that are potentially triggering.)
There are indeed girl love dramas although they are less common. Plus the thai BL's often have trans characters who are just part of the cast- its not made a big deal off (most of the time its not even mentioned). Also the thing he sniffed was product placement for menthol inhalers things that are supposed to give you energy- it was not poppers😂
All the best your finally entering into THAILAND BL. Hope you guys do bad buddy next also just an info Thai bl have episodes and OST released as well OST played a huge part as its usually sung by the lead or leads or one of the cast. Wud be amazing if you react to the songs as well as kinn Porsche and next bad buddy has some super duper hit songs
This is definitely on my top ten list of favorite BLs. Some of my other favorites aren’t the most loved by others but it’s usually main couple chemistry that really sucks me. Some of the stories aren’t the best but the main actors are what draws me in. For example Cutie Pie and Naughty Babe, kind of annoying stories but u love the main couples. I also love Love in the Air, which was the first BL I ever watched, and Between Us. There are others that I love but these are just a couple of examples.
Kinnporsche is a wild first BL but that's awesome! It's one of the first I got my husband to watch with me all the way through. They only aw bits and pieces of ones I reacted to on tiktok before that. I will definitely be watching your reactons to this. I gotta give you some recs for BL shows from different countries later.
UPDATES: My recommendation list: - Bad Buddy - Last Twilight - Vice Versa - A tale of thousand stars - A boss and a babe - My School President - Cutie Pie - Naughty Babe - Wandee Goodday (still airing as of right now) - Semantic Error - Light on me - The eighth sense - Moonlight Chicken - Only Friends - Manner of Death
Wow choosing KinnPorsche as your first BL. You guys jumped head first into the deep end. I can’t wait to see your reaction. A few shows for you to consider…Unknown (Taiwan), Old Fashion Cupcake (Japan), Bad Buddy (Thailand), Word of Honor (China). So many more good ones out there.
I love how this whole thing is reminiscent of when anime was starting to take hold in the west and people were super into DBZ or Akira. KinnPorche is definitely the right "big thing" to pick as your first foray. I hope you will do more BL in the future and explore some of the bigger non-Thai ones. Some of your observations and commentary are much more about Thai society than BL and seeing you react and respond to how it is similar or different in Korea or Taiwan will be interesting and insightful.
I love this series! After you finish watching this series I would like to recommend 'My Stan-In' that shares a director and screenwriter as this one. it's worth to give it a try, good production, storylines and talented actors.
Kinnporsche is a great series but you do have to keep in mind that there will be a lot of toxicity but that's just inevitable in the whole mafia genre. Still a really good series so glad you are reacting to it. Other ones I would recommend are: -semantic error (korean) -not me (thai) -our dating sim (korean) -cherry magic (japanese, there is also a thai version and they're both good but the original is japanese) -if it's with you (japanese)
Bl is a big industry now. It’s not particularly geared towards gay audience but more for the female audience. Many bl actors are very internationally famous. Watch Last Twilight. It’s one of my fave bl series 😊
@@issey1456 yes like Khun Oaf who directed Last Twilight. He said that he had decided to come out to his mother so he would understand the character in his series more
Wow, you decided to start watching BL on the week equal marriage has been legalized in Thailand! 🎉🎉🎉And Tong (the actor who plays Tankhun in this series) is one of the activists who has been fighting for equal rights the most! A piece of advice: beware of spoilers in the comments section. Many people tend to talk too much in the BL/GL community 😑
KinnPorsche being someone’s first BL is literally diving from a beach into a lava pit 😂 This show also went through so much controversy after airing its wild. I’d recommend Until We Meet Again or The Sign in terms of good Thai BLs
The way you choose kinnporsche as your fave bl is CRAZY 😭 Loved the video, i was laughing so hard to your reactions and cant wait to see more! Won a like and a follow🫶
Not you guys reacting to my favourite Thai series😍I can't wait to rewatch all the episodes with you. Kinnporsche literally raised the bar for all thai BL's and MileApo's chemistry is no joke❤❤
@@anuugooNo, not at all.. Mile and Apo still work together. They did ManSuang after KinnPorsche, and they will start filming Chai (Shine) really soon, in late July/early August, to premiere at the end of the year. And BoC is already on the lookout for their next project too. There was some BL story that fans have been saying they would be perfect for, but upon requesting the author, BoC found out another production company already reserved the rights. Mile and Apo are just doing their own things in between duo projects too, like Apo is currently filming in a secret (not BoC) movie that will be out next year, and in the meantime Mile has been working on a solo concert that he did 2 weeks ago. Apo participated in it, sang a duo with Mile. So they have not broken up at all, but have had more individual fashion events, as they are collecting individual brand names endorsements (they're both presenters for Bento and Brand Ambassadors for Dior, the rest is individual).
This wasn't my first BL by any means but it is by far one of the best I've seen. If you want more drama BLs you should check out Moonlight Chicken (the side couple is devastatingly sweet) and The eclipse. They're both incredibly well written and the characters FEEL like actual queer people. And if you're in the mood for something more ✨scandalous✨ Only Friends is a really good one.
Omg I squealed in excitement when I got the notification!💜🙏 Kinnporsche is one of my Top 2 all time Thai BLs- the other one is "I told sunset about you" - it has an entirely different vibe and kind of a coming of age story with an indie movie vibe, incredible cinematography and a realistic approach. (And it's story is inspired by how the two actors met in real life) I can't recommend it enough for you to react to as well!🙌💕
The way this series had me on a chokehold while it was airing; it will make you experience a rollercoaster of emotions in a span of minutes. ♥♥♥♥♥ so so good
I am so excited to see this series through your eyes - what I'd do to see this for the first time again 😍 I don't normally comment but since this is KinnPorsche, I *had* to!
This was one of the first BLs I ever saw too. Definitely does not disappoint. Since your first choice was a bit of a wild one, you should check out Pit Babe next.
Omg!! I saw the title and clicked so fast. This was my first BL and my introduction to the BL world and I've never looked back. I've only watched Western and European queer content since QAF came out. This series for me holds so much to my heart. It's just a phenomenal series. I hope y'all love it like I do. I'm so excited!! ❤❤
As your first Thai BL KinnPorsche is …something 😂. You are in for a wild ride with this series, there are quite controversial topics/events that will take place in this series. It could be rather triggering so just a warning. It’s still a good BL nonetheless, it’s on the other side of the spectrum of Thai BLs as there are some that are still cute, fluffy, and light hearted. I would say there are definitely Thai BLs that do have main leads discover themselves and come out but most of the time they are out. As for this company that produced KinnPorsche, they definitely focus more on the plot/storyline and production like another series that is Dead Friend Forever (definitely recommend you watch it too) that they produced. It definitely had plot, and the bl romance is secondary. The romance in KinnPorsche will increase gradually. GMMTV is a big company in Thailand that produces BL as well and while the series are very different from Kinnporsche, they are still very good. Ones I recommend are definitely My School President, Vice Versa, Bad Buddy, Only Boo, Not Me, and Fish Upon The Sky. The storylines are great but also more cute and light hearted if you want to watch something different when finished with KinnPorsche ✨
KinnPorsche omg yall starting a masterpiece in the BL world. I also recommend “Old fashioned cupcake” a japanese BL. There are so many amazing asian gay series, i’m excited for your journey through them
There is GL as well! The offerings are sadly just not quite as varied but it is starting to get more popular, just not in the same way that BL has yet. You've definitely picked one of the most extreme shows to start 😂 Happy viewing! And also, be prepared for a ton of product placement 😅
One thing about Thai dramas is that product placement is SO blatant. It's not subtle, they aren't hiding that this is a sponsored product. That thing he sniffed was a sponsored like, refreshing air thing that's gotten into the genre recently. In like 2016-2019 it was a specific brand of tea that you absolutely couldn't escape. You get used to it after a while.
Love that KinnPorsche is your first BL watch. Its an incredible show and I hope you watch more episodes because it just gets better. Your reactions were amazing ❤
It kills me that you thought the entire time that they were talking in dollars.... its in baht, 37baht are 1 dollar, so when porsche asked his other bartenders for 1k baht, thats roughly 27 dollars (and yes, in thai's economy thats still a lot of money but not 1000 dollars)
Oh my GOD!!! Finally!!! You are very late, but still I'm happy you start reacting to KinnPorsch finally!! One of the high bidget series! Great chemistry! Best actor choosing! Everything about this serie is different! I mean, KinnPorsch brings BL drama in the higher level! Thank you
No freaking way you chose KinnPorsche as your first BL 😂 i'm screaming. I'm so excited.
Yes, they should have started with something lighter and less moraly gray...
@@Jia21 I agree. But at the same time, they're kinda being chucked in the deep end and let's see what they think
It's the best bl out there (and Manner of Death)
@@veronikakorcakova742 i agree, but some aspects of it may be hard to undersand if you are not used to watch BL's.
I agree. Kinnporche is really bold move. They should have started with Sotus. I mean, if any BL cp can get you hooked without wanting you to run away.. It would be KongArt
choosing kinnporsche as first bl is mad crazy, it's literally like starting from 100 😭 this show set the bars, changed the bl industry forever
@@iranad2713 omg I'd love to know those series with this level of production. right now I can only think of my stand in, i'd love to watch more.
@@kajiraangel166 thisssss
actually the only top tier BL making countries are Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand.
And budget is much lower in Vietnamese BL, but there are a few excellent ones from there as well. Most everything from Ō2 Productions, Follow My Sunshine, Tien Bromance, My Monster in Law ... I know there are others, but I'm too lazy to look up anything. 😂
I want to know BL Thai, Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese .Which country is the best?
Thai: I Told Sunset About You, Bad Buddy

Kinnporsche is a great first BL. It has a more realistic storyline and doesn't have too many sound effects 😅

Looking forward for next KP reactions!
Every boss needs a mini-boss
Oh. My. God. I have been wanting you to react to this FOREVER. I hope youre watching the uncut version 😜

(And of course depending on where they live coming out might not be even a viable option at all.)
I also agree, there's so much diversity within the stories - BL/GL/QL as a whole but also specifically in Thailand in these past few years.
Part of me wants to suggest PitBabe just because.... Watching people experience that show is almost as good as watching it for the first time
Watching people react to the omegaverse aspect of the show when they have 0 knowledge about is hilarious 😂

SO happy you're reacting to this fabulous but also quite wild show! :D Many morally grey areas in this show. But well, they are the mafia, haha
Maybe a few things that will be good for you to know. Some context but no spoilers, I swear!
1. Calling someone aunt or uncle in thai doesn't mean that they are necessarily related by blood. It can also be another adult friend of the family, or someone older you're close with
2. Many/most BL shows has sponsorships, which goes beyond just product placement but they are written into the show. Like the thing you joked about being poppers. It's called an inhaler which can like freshen/wake you up
1. I Told Sunset About You
2. I Feel You Linger in the Air
3. More Than Words
4. Heartstopper
5. Gaya Sa Pelikula (Like in the Movies)
6. Young Royals
7. KinnPorsche the Series
8. Light on Me
9. Love, Victor
10. My Love Mix-up
Great list! The only one I haven't seen is #3, I'll go look that up. I think they would enjoy Gaya Sa Pelikula
Awesome! It seems that you have watched a lot of BL TV dramas. More Than Words is from Japan and it is NOT a typical Asian BL TV drama. It feels realistic and the director takes the plot seriously. It is simply very different from other BL TV drams, like a breath of fresh air.
I'm so glad someone mentions Gaya sa pelikula because it's one of my favs and I don't see enough praise for it 🧡
Gaya Sa Pelikula (Like in the Movies) has a good cast, a well written script and memorable songs that match each scene.

And China is it's own entire thing.
oh no those are all so cringe and full of weird sound effects etc. I think more mature and serious series are better to recommend to these guys.
@@Cookie_moonlove Well that's a personal preference. It's just part of the storytelling style, just like there's certain comedic styles in western romcoms.
I'm totally embracing even the possible cringiness and enjoying the positive queer stories as well as the serious ones^^
I love that nowadays we have _both_ more mature series like Manner of Death, I Feel You Linger in the Air and Moonlight Chicken as well as these heartwarming romantic comedies that sometimes do also have actually more depth than they people give them credit for.
@@Cookie_moonloveyeah if they'd enjoy KINNPORSCHE, the better option after that is NOT ME (it's so underrated 😭it's one of my favorite along with KP)
I am not even going to harp on about how Gun (one of the main actors) slayed his role as twins.
bl is a tricky industry cuz it has a lot of pink money and straight people (authors, actors and producers) involved BUT there are some really good works in the middle of that. besides, each country has its own style of bl. japan for example makes great stories but are a really straight-based industry, while thailand makes a LOT of shows that sometimes aren't that good or expensive but are much more queer-oriented, produced by queer people, with trans and gay people featuring and even directing and all that
this is literally the best thing i’ve woken up to i love kinnporsche so much it genuinely changed thai bl forever
Im usually not a fan of BLs to be honest but KinnPorsche I’m obsessed with. You’re in for a wild ride!

welcome to the world of BL! i think the very best show to watch as an introduction to the genre is Semantic Error. its very high budget, well shot, and the story and chemistry is on point. its one of the best bl i've watched and the one i recommend to people just being introduced to the genre
Sorry but if they started with KP I don't think any bl would be the same level😣 Semantic Error is good but not THIS great(imo) NOT ME would be great to follow KP
Manner of Death is great too.

Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul (2022) *edit: i wasn't gonna add this one bc it's a bit chessy, but the leads in this show are the same ones from Grey Rainbow and their chemistry is great*
I've watched many BLs (KinnPorsche included), but the ones I listed stuck with me the most 💛Just a warning tho, most of them include a slow burn romance between the leads.

(but i think i, personally, could only recommend few that would be on par with the cinematography of this one, bc dang KP is such an art, my photography-editing obsessed ass went crazy as much as my pan self watching this 😆)
new subscriber here, excited for your feaction to this and maybe for a future bl again!!
A couple of BLs I recommend:
Only Friends (if you like gay mess and drama)
Bad Buddy (If you want a conemporary enemies to lovers)
Not Me (If you'd like activism and brotherhood)
Semantic Error (For a short comfort enemies to lovers)
A Boss and A Babe (If you'd like a humorous office setting)
Cherry Magic (If you'd like a cute office setting, I do prefer the japanese version tho)
Never Let Me Go (Somewhat like KinnPorsche except make them teenagers in high school)
My Stand-In (Currently ongoing, but its another dark as hell romance. Please look at TW's before watching)
Love In The Air (This was my first BL, and if you want something that's contemporary but a whole lot more mature, this is the one. The first few episodes are... something but when you reach the second couple, your whole view will change. Please look up TW's for this one as well, it's not a dark romance (ish) but there are themes that are potentially triggering.)
This series will never not be legendary.
UPDATES:
My recommendation list:
- Bad Buddy
- Last Twilight
- Vice Versa
- A tale of thousand stars
- A boss and a babe
- My School President
- Cutie Pie
- Naughty Babe
- Wandee Goodday (still airing as of right now)
- Semantic Error
- Light on me
- The eighth sense
- Moonlight Chicken
- Only Friends
- Manner of Death
Also Manner of Death. 2020?
@@lisamichel6548 YES, ABSOLUTELY
PLS WATCH MY SCHOOL PRESIDENT IT IS SO CUTE HEARTSTOPPER VIBES
OR BAD BUDDY
SECONDED. Msp is the cutest show ever
Just be aware it'' s really a teen show , with a lot of fake kissing. Best enjoyed if you are under twenty in my opinion.
They will need to after watching this show 😂
@@issey1456when did they fake kiss? It was really believable!
Kinn Porsche was MY first BL as well. VERY good choice, guys; you got a new subscriber!
Kinnporsche is a great series but you do have to keep in mind that there will be a lot of toxicity but that's just inevitable in the whole mafia genre. Still a really good series so glad you are reacting to it. Other ones I would recommend are:
-semantic error (korean)
-not me (thai)
-our dating sim (korean)
-cherry magic (japanese, there is also a thai version and they're both good but the original is japanese)
-if it's with you (japanese)
Bl is a big industry now. It’s not particularly geared towards gay audience but more for the female audience. Many bl actors are very internationally famous. Watch Last Twilight. It’s one of my fave bl series 😊
Many of the redditors on BL related subs are queer,bi, gay or lesbian. Just so you know.
@@issey1456 yes like Khun Oaf who directed Last Twilight. He said that he had decided to come out to his mother so he would understand the character in his series more
@@RojSangkasaba oh that is a really interesting info, thank you.
as a fellow uk queer, i am living for the mix of uk queer culture and kinnporsche turning me outt
„Until we meet againe „ your tears will not stop for a moment 😢 just wonderful.
Thai bl are on another level and kinn Porsche is on next level
KinnPorsche being someone’s first BL is literally diving from a beach into a lava pit 😂 This show also went through so much controversy after airing its wild. I’d recommend Until We Meet Again or The Sign in terms of good Thai BLs
There are so many plot twist that you will be shocked .
"Until we meet again"
You have to watch this!beautiful and a legend!
Josh need to watch Ghost so he can see the clay molding scene. That movie is great as well.
Not knowing that scene is like not knowing terminators "i'll be back" or "hasta la vista baby" ahahahaha
MileApo broke up right?
This was my very FIRST BL drama, I'm SOOOOO happy you guys are reacting to this. You just opened pandora's box❤❤❤❤
KinnPorsche omg yall starting a masterpiece in the BL world.
I also recommend “Old fashioned cupcake” a japanese BL.
There are so many amazing asian gay series, i’m excited for your journey through them
10:20 it‘s common in many countries to call people you‘re not related to auntie/uncle or grandma/grandpa. So they don’t have to be related
There is GL as well! The offerings are sadly just not quite as varied but it is starting to get more popular, just not in the same way that BL has yet.
You've definitely picked one of the most extreme shows to start 😂
Happy viewing!
And also, be prepared for a ton of product placement 😅
This is wonderful. I plan to follow along with this. KinnPorsche is one of my favorites. This is great. Hope you continue.
They are inhalers.
PLEASEEEE don't stop to watch kinnporsche, it's amazing, you'll be surprise!!! ❤
Love that KinnPorsche is your first BL watch. Its an incredible show and I hope you watch more episodes because it just gets better. Your reactions were amazing ❤
bad buddy is a GREAT one that yall need to watch.
Thank you
