Fabulous video! I don’t know how I missed it! Loved all the flip throughs. I can’t choose one favorite haha, but at the moment I’m loving the Italian decks 😍 the Edoardo Dotti is my current love. I also love the Golden Tarot Visconti Sforza, the large one you mentioned. That’s my Christmas deck, I can’t wait to play with it again ❤ In terms of books my favorite is Tarology by Enrique Enriquez. “If you want to understand Marseille tarot, please observe the following: read poetry and about poetry while assuming it is all about the tarot”. That line sold me on reading it 😍🔥
Tarot Del Toro is my favorite. I have not read with it yet since i don't know the Marseille style just yet but the art work is gorgeous even if you're not a fan of Guillermo Del Toro. Will probably check out your book recommendations since this video got me excited to bring out my deck.
My favourite Marseille decks are the Estrella and (bias coming in) my own Marseille Prendre Vie. Despite being modern both keep directionality and mine keeps other symbolism in it. Both are diverse and that makes them more loved than others.
Thank you for this wonderful video!! And hmm...very tough to choose a favorite Marseille. When pressed, I might say the Vieville -- I love its colors and flavor, and how its fun deviations from the "traditional" Marseille style show the history and evolution of this lineage.I also have a special place in my heart for the Noblet, and that's a whole 'nother conversation if you want to go there. 😂💛💛💛
Such a fun video to watch, love what you said paraphrasing- essentually read tarot your way no matter the deck-your way is right don't let anyone say different. Some of my fav's are Trionfi Della Luna- not illustrated pips, Tarot Sirene, Marshmallow Marseille Tarot, Tarocchi Vintage by Mr. Friborg. A slightly different take on the pips is the Eudes Picard Tarot and/or the Universal Wirth Tarot. A rabbit hole I went down investigaing the Picard minors/pips. I found it interesting.
I've got the Tarot del Toro sitting in my shoping cart and this video felt like a sign to just go for it while I have the Jonas Jaus which was inspired by Marseille it's not really a Marseille deck and while the Tarot del Toro pips as fair as I know don't fit the traditional placement the majors just screem Marseille which I think is so fitting given the fandom for the deck.
Thank you for showing us this feast for the eyes! If I had magical powers in real life I would 100% use it to just cast, "Find in Document". Oh my gosh. Yes. Thank you for reading that snippet from Tarot of the Drowning World. Coming from a fundamentalist background alllll my red flags go up when people start talking like that. As for my favorite TDM...unfortunately I have to go with the Trionfi Paradoxical 😂 It just works for me. I like the Illustrated Pips as well but whenever I want a really direct but comforting reader I go for the Paradoxical Pips.
I have the Seventh Sphere TdM and love it. I’d like to try the Trionfi Della Luna at some point and if the Gay Marseille goes up for sale after the kickstarter deliveries, I’d love to get that one too.
Oof! I lost Tarot of the Drowning World in my last move. I’m trying to live without it because of money. Damn! I’m gonna have to wait but I still have the guide book! Love this video. You are so fun!
Alejandro Jodorowsky is supposed to have joined up with Camanois family and delved into Marseilles history. I just bought a deck that is OOP by the both of them.
Ohhh love this, I just am starting read like the devil. I’m excited to see what I take from it. For marseille I LOVE pole ka tarot, the vandenborre, and tarot de’l’etoile de cachee- this one I found surprisingly modern in an unexpected and humorous way
٩(⁎❛ᴗ❛⁎)۶ I really enjoyed watching this and getting to see your lovely collection! I’ve been slowly stepping into TdM myself. What I’ve been playing with are the Marseille Cat Tarot by Lo Scarabeo (**Note** It has my absolute favorite ‘Death’ card in any deck! You seriously should check it out, the deck just makes me laugh and brings a smile to my face!), and the Squid Cake Marseille (by Rockpool), but I’d love love love to get one of the Swiss decks at some point, too. I really like Francios Gassmann’s art style; the faces are so sweet and the colors are so soft and pretty! 💕 I’ve also had my eye on KittenChops’s PipSqueak Marseille deck. 💖 I might treat myself for my birthday, but I want to get more comfortable with the system first. 🥰
Seriously though, hit me up with your best TDM recommendations! I'd LOVE to hear them. xx -Theia
Tattoo Tarot: Ink and Intuition by Diana McMahon-Collis & Megamunden (Laurence King)
My favourite TDM in my collection is the Fournier Spanish Tarot. The colours and especially the greens in it are lovely.
Honey Badger don't care! Tarot don't care! I needed to hear this. Great video. Thank you. I love the Tarot de Maria Celia.
Tarot Classic is gorgeous! I love so much!

Oh yes wow I love that, Tarot is Poetry and Poetry is Tarot. 100%. I've gotta read more from that guy! xx

I love that Eros tarot, hopefully they will reprint it in the future.

After I listen to this I should be able to decide what deck to buy ….I hope 😆
One way to use the tarot de Marseille is on the pips use the numbers for the divinations

Jean Dodal is lovely also I love the Piatnik for its messiness.
Thanks for sharing. 2024 feels like it is the year of TdM.

Soprofino. I know, I know, its Italian but I love it and read it like Marseille.

My favorite TDM is Trionfi Della Luna Paradoxical. Always and forever 🖤🖤
A classic, and SO you! I'm still rumbling around in my brain about getting it to accompany it's sibling the Illustrated Pips version. xx
