I think the big challenge with the history of a people who didn’t have a written history until relatively lately is that myths are mixed up with facts

This is a great program. Unfortunately, this great Prince Ademola Adelabu man is an example of people that many ijinles of Yorubaland got lost that we have perpetually lost. Why wouldn't he by now pass to his child or children his none to second of what he knows, or put it into writing (book)? Suppose he passed suddenly, that would be the end of whatever he has. It's a pity. Please Baale Agbaletu, advise him to do something about that.

I am listening to this in 2024. I stopped at 19:20 to write this my comment. The narrator made a statemen that it is from Ile-Oluji kingdom that people that use to disturb Ile-Ife back then came from. I am an indigene of Ile-Oluji kingdom. Before I drop my inference, I want to say this " it is difficult for us as people of unwritten history to ascertain our history perfectly since it is from mouth to mouth but if we are analytical then we can join together the different pieces of history to make common sense ". Now my inference, there is a popular king in Ile-Oluji kingdom that history claimed was so powerful and reigned for 60 years. The name of this king is "JEGUN- IGBO". It is a matter of fact that there is no letter "i" in the dialect of Ile-Oluji people, in view of this the correct spelling of that particular king is "JEGUN- UGBO". Therefore it could not be a coincidence. What I am saying in essence is that, by critical analysis, the narrator is correct. People have not just connected the dots. The name of that king is strange to the people of Ile-Oluji, because the people did not know their ancestors where the Ugbo people disturbing Ile-Ife. This is critical analysis and it takes a sound mind to understand it

Some of this guy’s stories have credibility issues especially the Jesus stuff. The fellas that sold us the bible/Jesus story are questioning the credibility of their story and I find it quite hilarious that we Africans are still clinging to such. Our own history can stand on its own without adding the Mohammed or Jesus dimensions. Still a very good talent though.

Yoruba's were part of ancient Egypt (not the present day Arab Egypt), Mecca is rather too young and not a geographic location... Presence of some Arabic words happened as a result of trading interactions between our forebears and Arab traders. We need to invest in history and archeology to unravel more mysteries

Although I have tremendous respect for this gentleman's talent, however, his historical accounts are suspects. His assertion that foreign religions are superior to yoruba divination and spirituality is totally wrong. He's more of a traditionalist than a Christian, but he has to cover it up for fear of being ostracized.
