I really want websites to stop saying you CAN’T grow cherimoya in a pot, and that you CAN’T grow them here or there. I love seeing channels like yours.

You can basically grow anything in pots
But you need to give fertilization and have good draining soil
      That's it

Thanks for sharing this information. I have a small 1 year old seed grown cherimoya, I used to have older plants but they died. It's very slow growing. I notice mine does not require much watering and its root system in a small container has not expanded much either. Is this normal. Should I repot in April as we head into spring?. I'm in the UK and growing it indoors.

Did you have to prune or chop the tree down lower to promote lower branch growth for growing in a pot? Or did you just let it grow and do some pruning but nothing serious?

Hi! Thank you for making this video; what size containers are you using and where did you get them? Is it best to use a rigid plastic container or the fabric kind? My mom gifted me a cherimoya seedling that’s about a foot tall and I want to make sure I can take it with me when/if I move. Please advise and TIA!

do you put any stones etc for drainage in the bottom of the pot ? I'm potting some up today. and do you mix any fertilizer at potting time or later ?

I wish youtube allows us to share pictures in comment section. My what I thought was Sugar Apple from seed is I think Cherimoya and now about 5 years old in container. It is about 6feet in height but maybe only 2 or less inches in diameter in the base. No fruits yet. I am thinking on pruning. It goes inside during Winter ( zone 5b, IL). I only fertilize with fish emulsion.

What variety r u growing? Some varietyies r more sensitive than other. Also this is the season for leaves to drop and new growth. Give the plant some fertilizer. Dig about 2 inches in the soil, 3-4 different places make sure the water soiled dirt properly. Water the plant regularly and consistently, for example I chose to water every Monday and Friday. I use Kellogg potting mix from Home Depot. It drain very well. I hope u tree get better!

My Atemoyas are also in 15gal containers but the fruits are tiny, about 1/4 lb. it’s a grafted tree. I haven’t been fertilizing them. Maybe that’s the reason for small fruit?

Give it some osmocote fertilizer 14.14.14. Make sure to water regularly. I water my pots 3x a week. I use Kellogg potting mix to its drain very well. I noticed pots with less watering, fruits r much smaller. Best wishes!

My honey heart cherimoya hardly gets any sun and the fruits are very sweet even with minimal shade. Atemoyas and cherimoyas are so easy to care for and doesn’t need much care.
