Van Morrison was Classic 70s, my high school era. What we really loved back then was that most of the great bands not only had guitar, bass guitar and drums BUT they had an entire Brass section: trumpet, trombone, saxophone and clarinet. We had local bands that were so good BECAUSE they would imitate bands like Van Morrison's with complete brass section. Another band with Great Brass from the 70s is Tower of Power (a Calif band) -- you should review them 👍

I have always loved this song. However, if you really want to hear the flute in rock, you're not going to find much better than Jethro Tull. Certainly other bands use the flute to some degree, and do so very well (Traffic, The Moody Blues, etc.), it is the chosen instrument of Jethro Tull's Leader/Songwriter/Singer Ian Anderson.

Chod is one of the few reactors I think would really understand Jethro Tull well, because of his jazz background. He understands development, transitions, and underlying structures of music better than most.
Start with "Aqualung" for a taste, then dive into "My God" to see what they can really do.

Great reaction! You should hear Van when he stretches out. Try Summertime in England or Listen to the Lion.
