Well, technically Singapore is still one of the safest countries to be in because the government takes screening very seriously and our community cases hasn't spiked at all since the Circuit Breaker started. Dormitories on the other hand, the numbers are rising because the government is screening all foreign workers to make sure that they all get treated if they have covid-19 and treatment is free for everyone regardless of nationality. Up until 7th of march 2020, if you had covid 19 in Singapore, you wouldn't need medical insurance. The free medical treatment right now only applies to Singapore citizens, Singapore residents and long term pass holders. Having said all that, in times like this, it's always good to be back home, close to your family.
Free medical? Are you talking about your own citizen? I'm an expat working in IT sector only time I can only feel free medical is my company insurance.. not all get free especially if you're foreign worker
Jiel Manabs Yes, Free Medical for COVID-19 only. Perhaps you should read my comment before ranting about not getting free medical services. Free medical services only applies to Covid-19. Even Singaporeans rely only their company’s insurance, Medisave, their own money or their own medical insurance coverage when they fall ill, go for a surgery or when they require any medication for any sickness in normal times regardless of what sector they work in. So if free medical service is what you want, go get covid-19. The fact that you mentioned foreign workers, just goes to show that despite the fact you work here in my* country, you don’t have the slightest clue of what’s going on. Who do you think is paying for the medical treatment for the 28k foreign worker that test positive for Covid-19? Don’t read something without understanding it and try to write a smart arse comment.

It isnt a big deal. I'm living in Switzerland right now. Before the entire pandemic I received emails almost weekly from the STEP program. It was about protests that was happening in Switzerland. It got so annoying that I stopped the STEP program. When the virus ess happening I did enroll in the program again. I've been receiving daily emails about the coronavirus in Switzerland. They were just repeating the same shit over and over so I dropped it again.
Protests in Switzerland LOL I bet those are super polite affairs. They could have stayed put in Singapore. Singapore is managing the problem better then Trump could ever do. No one is protesting lockdown. It is already a VERY clean and safe country unlike the US where people are often pigs in public throwing trash around. In a pandemic I'd prefer a population interested in keeping everything clean over one focused on the alleged taking away of civil liberties.

I see daily updates from around the globe, and they range from public transport strikes, demonstrations, natural disasters and acts of terrorism. Considering you have made a career from travelling, you have been very lucky not to have had plans over the last 4 years seriously hampered by uncontrollable events. Keep safe and enjoy your time back home. Until things improve, why not focus on some US-based journeys as we don't see too much of your homeland. You guys are an inspiration.

They wont bc they tax dodge by staying out of the US and only coming home for the maximum amount of days allowed each year to be considered "living abroad". So they pay 3% in taxes in the US on the whopping cash they make on TH-cam and other ventures without paying taxes on it (I know the rate bc I'm an ACTUAL expat)
They can actually do that this year. US is getting rid off the lockdown like crazy, all they need to do is go to all the natural and man made wonders in US.

I love Nate's last line..."it's like we're adults." Thank you for this Vlog. I was telling Kim how it reminded me of how much I miss traveling. For many people, travel days are a hassle and they dread the airport, planes, lines, etc., but there is something about all the energy of going somewhere new, all the people going from one place to the next, that makes me feel like a kid again and creates excitement and anticipation. And of course we think about the both of you and how the last 4 years have been nothing but travel and how there must be a void right now for you and how weird that must feel. Love you both and we're excited to see what's next for you and look forward to the day(s) we can all hang out and travel again. We keep saying how grateful we are to have had such a big travel year in 2019 which culminated in our trip to Thailand and eventually Myanmar (and that was because of the two of you). Thank you both! But for these two guys (K&N) it's a different story, they don't live abroad, they just travel and at one point some safety net will start to break down (in this case, their health insurance).
Most governments cover covid treatments for everyone to avoid people not getting identified due to lack of insurance. At least in Morocco and Costa Rica I know they are covering even tourists.
Jeffry Syam I got that same notice in Japan, and I’ve been living here (Japan) for at least 15 years. My thought was “Let’s see. You want me to go back to the US. There’s a much higher Corona virus pandemic in the US than in Japan. Unemployment is much higher than in Japan. People are fighting for toilet paper in the US and even crossing into Mexico for toilet paper. I can get toilet paper and masks in Japan with no problems and they don’t fight for it. Let’s say I leave my job in Japan for unemployment in the US. Will there be at least a comparable job or higher for me, and can you guarantee that in writing by a non trump supporter? No, I think not, nor do I trust him and his idiotic goons in government. No thanks! I’ll stay in Japan.”

I wonder why all these travel couples are from flyover states and places like Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, etc. You never see a travel couple that from Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Miami, etc.
In Canada you can only fly/travel here if you have essential reason and you have to declare your plan of 14 day quarantining upon arrival. Where you will stay, how you will get there, how you will obtain essentials, how public health can contact you etc. If you don't have a plan you get taken to a hotel to quarantine for 14 days.

Guy tested positive and refused to quarantine in his house.. they had a cop stay there 24/7.. 2. In the 2nd batch of reparation in California there was a guy that after a few day's started showing symptoms and refused to continue the government quarantine for 14 days.. Having said all that, in times like this, it's always good to be back home, close to your family.
guitarfrozenintime Also the Singapore government doesn’t allow illegals and foreigners into their country.
rolback illegals definitely not but foreigners? 🧐

You guys are the best travel TH-camrs ever! I’ve been watching y’all for 3 years now🤩
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” This was a quote in a book I’m reading. I thought it appropriate for you.
Why am I teary eyed? It felt like the last chapter of a really good book! Gawd I hope I am wrong! 🥰 Do give us an update on your life back at home! US being the new epicentre of it all, makes me worry.
Keep vlogging even in quarantine. We love you!! It really feels like we're all in this together! So, please keep vlogging :)
For the people saying they were better off in Singapore, I’d rather be at home with my family than locked in to a foreign country. God forbid something happens to a loved one back home (good or bad) and you don’t even have the option to be with them. Also, I believe in God and I believe that God has a plan for all of us and the fact that they are home and safe proves that this was the best decision. Lastly, they explained why they couldn’t stay in Singapore because of the visa. Kara and Nate, thank you for taking us on your travel journeys. I am praying for you guys and i wish you all the best
I’m so glad I discovered you guys in quarantine! I’ve been around the world and I haven’t left my bedroom. Next, off to Africa to watch your Kenya videos. Thank you for all you’ve done. Stay safe Kara and Nate. I almost called Kara, Kate, lol, just finished watching the Antigua videos!
At this moment, I have been stuck in a city for over 2 months now since the government in India stopped commercial flights. Trust me, I pray each day and each moment that atleast some flights are allowed in my country so that people like me can be back to their homes.
Felt so good seeing you back to your home. I hope i get to have this joy soon. Love for K&N 😊😊
Basim Khan how is the situation in India. We are quarantining in Japan and it is a safe and pretty good place to be during all of this.
@@DjusLife Now its okay here. There are places that are completely open, while some are still under strict lockdown. Cases are increasing day by day. I guess we still haven't hit the peak as yet, or maybe we are at it.
Its good to know you are happy and safe out there. Japan is a beautiful country and one of places I will tour sometime in life.
Take care :)
I left Japan around the same time y’all started heading to the US as well. It always felt weird when I would get to an airport and it was empty. When I got back to my home state it was like a ghost town. I watch y’all’s videos back about this time because it feels so relatable.
When you were talking about how you can’t touch your face I started touching mine aggressively.
Don't talk about fight club. #rulenr1
it not the end of the world
glad to see how well you’re following lockdown restrictions even being 5 mins from family but staying away, it is tough but it’s for the best
You two are great. You both handled that Crazy Experience with Grace, and Laughter. I’m so glad you made it home safe and sound. You’ll be back before you know it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄☃️🎄☃️🎄☃️🎄
Your "new" home is amazing! Hope you have a nice time together as well as room for yourself❤
Woahhh I’ve never been this early lol. But I recently discovered your channel and I love you guys. You have the cutest relationship, and your videos are so entertaining and so well filmed. I’ve been binge watching them because they’re so entertaining!
This video is so weird watching after 4 years. It’s extremely fascinating to see how the world changed so much whenever Covid happened. Now 4 years later, covid is still a thing but not as big as before and vaccines also happened. But man, this is like a historic video to see.
Its absolutely incredible that border checking are not done when entering the US
You totally flew over / filmed my house coming out of Dallas, lol 😂
So? You wanted them to drop you a trophy?? Cake man

Nice to hear that you are back in your home. At this time staying at home and staying with your loved ones is the most important thing. I wish your 2-week quarantine also goes by smoothly. Stay safe and stay healthy. God bless you all.
Aw, I teared up when your friends let you borrow their truck and had soap in it. So thoughtful 😭💕
