Saw Junior in Memphis at the Gibson Showcase several years ago... Buddy was the only other member of the band there that night... with just a snare and a high hat... awesome show...
@Vintage1976 I spoke with Junior, and confirmed that he did teach Jimmy, but not Stevie Ray. Age has nothing to do with it, I learn daily from people youger than me!!!
I just love Junior Brown..always have.. always will..but what does Albert King have to do with Buddy Miles? I assume they must have played together...maybe a lot? I think more of Hendrix.. Band of Gypsies etc.....and I dont think the Tele really does any justice to Albert King...just sounds too thin (to my ears). Anyway... sorry to hear Buddy has passed away...may he rest in peace.
Fuckin' drunks man... Soo annoying. Junior played this tribute at the Iron Horse in Northampton, MA around this time last year, but it seemed more soulful. Live music doesn't come across as well on youtube, but I also think he was able to get into the performance more at the Iron Horse (with the quieter crowd.)
Junior Brown with the blues and soul!!! Thank you very much Mac!
I saw Jr. Brown w/Buddy Miles on drums @ Johnny D's Somerville, Massachusetts. A memorable performance!!!R.I.P Buddy
Robert Lowney I was there, too! It was a mind-blowing show! I seem to recall they did a medley of "Them Changes" into "Day Tripper" into "Foxy Lady"

Junior Brown was SRV and Jimmy Vaughns guitar teacher back in the day!!!
Great Video, thanks for posting

His tone may be in his hands but that is some damn glorious Fender tone! Sounds like its straight into a cranked up Twin!! must be M*F**NG loud!!

Also, I'm seeing him again tonight at the Iron Horse!
@HomelandConspiracy
That's a really, really good question. IMO, it's like visiting a museum and drawing on the pictures !
The crowd at Antone’s Is well lubricated as usual.
Yeah, there was this drunk couple there that thought they were alone! He was the one you hear trying to sing along!
@mikeinbako This IS TH-cam. People would bash a video of a puppy playing with a squeakie toy.

Everybody learns from Jr. Lesson # 1: Tone ain't in the guitar or the amp. It's in the hands.
@mikeinbako
THe operating word..."Crowd" Always the untruth.

Buddy released TEXAS many times most notably with THE ELECTRIC FLAG And of course BUDDY MILES EXPRESS around 71.
Too bad some jerks in the crowd can't shut their traps.
