Nice guide! I add the user by doing a sudo gedit /etc/group and add the user to both dialout and tty, works for me. Looking forward to getting back on the air with my FT-817ND and my Linux Powered HP Elitebook soon... 73 de MW0DCM Dave

Don't forget to log out & back in after you add your account to the dialout group.
