I absolutely love these. I had decided to do some like this for Christmas this year. Giving my most favorite recipes I have collected over the past 50 years, which I'm going to choose the best 12 of them which is going to be a challenge to say the least. They can add whatever they collect over future years. That way I'm leaving a legacy of our best family delicacies I know they will enjoy. Thanks so much for the inspiration. I worked so hard on this tonight! I’m very new to paper crafting and I knew would be a challenge for me but I am determined! I got the book and binding done tonight after only one failed attempt. Going to Michael’s in the morning to pick up those amazing scalloped cards and envelopes! Thank you so much for sharing! My sisters are going to love these. I’m going to include my dad’s “famous” meatballs and sauce recipe and my mom’s potato salad recipe! Maybe they can share with me recipes they remember our parents making!!

Hey Deanna, I have the Tyvek on a roll and it is adhesive on one side. It works great; I made a covered box and I used it on the back hinge. It's on Amazon which also has the 8.5 x 11 " papers, 50 sheets. I love your channel and really enjoying watching. This album is adorable, tfs. LOVED the dance of Mr. Crafty.
Things I have learned from making them is take 2 pieces of your scrap chip bored and glue them together and thats your space guide and 65lb coving chip bored reduces your chances of cracking.

You can make a spacer for the cover between cover pcs and spine using 2 or 3 pieces of the cover thickness-cardboard. That heavy paper you used needs more space, too. So glad for the kitchen journal inspiration! I need to finish one that I started! Hugs!

I found 2 12x12 paper stacks to f this paper from Tuesday morning ... that was my exact idea to make recipe albums for my mom and aunts of all my grandmothers recipes ... thanks for sharing
Another tip to stop cracking, according to Rosa Kelly Scrapbooking, is to use 65# cardstock for the covers. She uses 110# for the pages. I've done that for my albums and I don't get any cracking and they hold up very well. I hope that helps! 😉
That cracking on the corner is such a struggle for me. Even when I’ve allowed some extra space between cover and spine. I also think some papers have a tendency to crack more than others. I recently bought some book binding tape and have been working some with that. Liking so far...

To keep your glue flowing. Put lid on tightly and store upside down so there's no air near the tip. Love the album... Fabulous! x
