We have these lights and I love them! Transformed our house! We love that you can turn off each light individually. Most of the year we just have our peaks and corners lit!
Thank you so much for this great informative video! I love the structure of your video and that you don't talk so fast I had to keep rewinding lol! I just purchased these lights and getting ready to have my handyman install and I sent him the video. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this it's very helpful!😇👍
You should be able to change each light, but there might be a bug in the app. I was only able to see the first 26 or so LEDs in the chain. I will ask my friend if he can see all of the lights now.
Question on installation point. Looking at the video install look like the lights oxlip of eve and pointed back on wall, versus couple inches from wall and pointed down. Can you give insight into why the difference?
We decided to point it back at the house because that is what Jay (the owner) wanted. Because of the bright white color of the house, the reflection looked better pointing back instead of down. On every other permanant light installation, I have them pointing down (I am now upto 5 installs). Does that answer your question?
Let’s say your roof line is layed out in such a way that you need to go down a side but then back up to connect to another roof line. Are you able to just shut off some of the lights so it doesn’t look oddly brighter at night in that area?
Went outside, looked at my roofline wondering how this would work, myself. Hoping you get an answer. BUT, from what I've read, you can control each light individually.
They include an exension section that is just a wire. You can use that to "jump" the gap if it is long enough. If you need more length, you can always cut and add more wire along the extension section. Just use a larger gauge wire to combat voltage drop!
Can you please show the installation from roof line to gable? The straight lines are easy but what’s makes the look is having everything look like it’s not connected but still in sync. There are no videos available.
Basically you can cut off the last few LEDs on the last string. There is no impact on brightness. If you are asking about joining up to 200 ft together, that is just using the regular connectors. Which only let's you use about 75% brightness. Does that answer your question?
This was a very thorough and comprehensive review! Thank you very much. You answered all my questions and even covered several items I did not think of so thank you. Are there instructions on how I can add the 10ft extension to run a line for separate floors?
Great job with the video and thank you. Just a quick question, Do you have any videos on using customization of maybe the two lights and can I get them to blink or do something like the wave or the several other mode specialty modes? thanx
Glad it was helpful. I don't have any more videos on the Enbrighten products. But I know the customization options are limited. What are you trying to do?
@@ThisSmartHouse I am trying to customize the 2 to 6 lights every other lights to maybe blink or any of the other cool things it can do in the mode section when you press the Christmas or Fourth of July theme. I'd like to put effects on the customization? Effects like twinkle, chase, flame. I hope this is possible?Thanx
I was planning to just use the existing strand, but cover any dangling LED with electrical tape so I wouldn't have a light visible laying on the roof angle.
Can you please show the installation from roof line to gable? The straight lines are easy but what’s makes the look is having everything look like it’s not connected but still in sync. There are no videos available. Everyone just shows the straight lines installed which are the easiest part.
Did you ever find out how to program all of the lights individually? I am looking to program the lights to be G-G-W-W-R-R-W-W-G-G etc. and was wondering if I could do this.
I have stucco eaves does anybody recommend how to attach these to that? My fascia is wood and I guess I could put them on the back of that facing the house directly but that would look very different?
I’ve been thinking about installing these an after watching your video I’m still curious about something’s. 1. After you cut the extra lights off, are they junk or can you attach them to another set to get the correct length? 2. As long as there are 4 or more can you slice and reconnect wherever.? That’s my only concern is cutting and what becomes waste? Also how does two separate lines sync to flow? Ok. That’s all for now. Great video by the way, very helpful.
Good questions. 1. Theoretically, as long as you haven't added the max number of sections you would be able to splice those lights back in. (Total guess, but based on other lights). 2. You can only do this on the last section (remove). Like #1, I would assume if you want to take the risk you could add gaps in with extra wire (larger gauge). 3. If you have two separate controllers added as a group, then it only syncs when you start. What I mean is, if you start an effect both strings of lights will start with the same effect, but if your strings are different lengths, then you will see "drifting". They will fall out of sync. Glad you liked the video!
Hey sir You gained a new follower. You are awesome! I have a question for you. I ordered to boxes of these and I have a Christmas light installer company coming to hang them (roof is high). Do the hook up to each other light regular lights or do I need to have an extension cord so they both have power?
Let me know if I am not understanding your question correctly. The controller needs to connect to a standard 120V outlet (usually found in an eve for Christmas lights). Then each of the lights strings connect to each other with the twist on connector. If you ordered two boxes, then you can either connect them together as one string with one power connection (note that you only get 75% brightness like this). Or connect to two 120V outlets. Also, make sure your 120V outlet is protected with an IN USE outdoor cover, not the "flip close" style!!
Does anybody make a Y-splitter that would work with these? I have a large triangular section with a straight section on either end and splitting the run seems like the easiest solution.
@@ThisSmartHouse My biggest struggle is I am not sure where to start my install. Do I just do just the front of my house or also do the sides up the roof line. what is the best way to do that and the jumps. I'm sure I will need at least 200 ft. I want to do this so bad but seems complicated.
Question I would like to know is can you add extra strands AFTER the initial strand has been installed. Will the new strand and the old strand synch? My first strand is 30' off the ground and not easily accessible to "reset" with new strands
It isn't just "more power" it is also the voltage drop in the lines. 200ft is a long way. The only way to solve it would be to split the power at the power supply and "re-inject" the power approximately 100ft in. That would provide the right voltage further up the string.

My buddy loves his and it looks so good on his white house!
Finally a company that gives a good solid mounting bracket
I know I thought it was really clever. Even though we ended up using Staples for most of the install. 🤣

Can you control lights individually? Not changing colors lets say I want some lights to turn white to accent the house?

Thanks for doing this. I’m glad to see someone who has installed them on the fascia. Will do this with mine!
That was 100% Jay's idea and I think it came out wonderful!

Are you talking about the 2nd floor? That is one continuous line on his house. We just stuck and stapled the lights up the gable.
Are you saying you can’t butt splice and heat shrink in an area that you need to make a clean transition? I know it will void a warranty. Thx
Can you sync music to these lights? I have them up and love these but I want to sync music.
Can you explain the splicing part does it work or it has issues with brightness?

Jus got my boxes yesterday….. jus concern bout cutting them!
Wouldn’t it cut the power going to the strands?
You only cut the last strand. So the power will still flow down through each LED on its way to the cut. Hope that makes sense.

We live in a single-level duplex and don’t have an outdoor outlet. Do you think it’s possible run an extension cord inside the house for power?
It's pretty easy adding an outdoor outlet
So with 2-100 ft light sets I can or cannot sync the two cords with separate power sources?
How do you terminate a line from a roof pitch, then have to move up 3 feet to start the next section?
That’s what I’m currently researching, have you found anything?

Finally, a less expensive option to mount on Stucco.
Still have to drill into the Stucco... Not fun.

@@ThisSmartHouse He did say in the video you can't splice a cut cord back with another cord.
Yep, these lights won't be falling down like Govee's lights. Probably won't have any diodes burn out either! Getting 3 sets for my house!
I always staple my installs up! Gave me an excuse to buy a Ryobi stapler.

You can't really split them that way. Because the data line has to run in series (one light to the next).
Do you like these over Govee or Eufy?
I think they all have strengths. But govee is the most flexible and mature.

Just unplug the controller. When you plug it in it does a self test (light pulse). It will automatically add the new strings.
I like jasco
There Z-wave switches have been pretty solid. I have lost 2 over about 10 years.
@ThisSmartHouse they had one bad run one time of bad capacitors but that's all
plain and simple we need a more powerful power supply so 200 foot sync together and we get full available lumens
