Hello, Joe! Thanks for teaching us! Because of your video I bought a copy of 18MS, that I received a few days ago here in Brazil. I am newbie in 18xx games and expect starting play with my family and friends very soon! I know you published this video in 2021, but I let my statement recorded here.
Excellent video! Just played my first 18xx this weekend (18 New England) without knowing these games existed. Now falling into this new sub genre of tabletop gaming, and your videos and playthroughs are extremely helpful.
Another fun video to watch! Notice you haven't gotten the family together for an 18xx recently. Hope you are able to swing another game again some time!
It has been a tough year for illness here. However, summer is coming and I will have some time, maybe able to convince the family for another recorded play. Thank you for watching.
Thank you so much for this video and please keep them coming! So many other 18xx channels do not have good playthrough or teaching videos. This is one of the best I’ve seen. The camera placement allows full vision of the board and components, great use of text scrolls for rule reinforcement and you are not not being talked over by other players. Excellent!
Nice video. It''s good to show an 18XX that can be played complete in under two hours WITH explanations. One thing though, since I live here. It's Mo-BEEL, not Mo-BILE
Thanks for letting us see how this shorter 18xx works; it looks great for introducing new players to the system! I did notice one small error: At least two of the players appear to be counting their president's certificates twice for the purpose of the certificate limit. They should be counting the number of certificates, not the percentage of ownership they represent. This means those two players could have purchased addition stocks if they desired.
I know I'm super late to the party but, In my mind the only reason to buy in P1 and/or P2 in OR1 would be to block your opponent from New Orleans and get the Station token bonus in OR1. In this instance, where there was no completion for New Orleans, it would've been better to purchase both P1 and P2 in OR2 for 1.5x face value. Since there is no way to run trains OR1 and the private companies can be purchased before running trains, there are no other benefits for laying the extra track in OR1 (unless you really need a specific piece, but so early in the game modifying plans are relatively easy).
Thank you for watching and commenting. It has been awhile since I posted this video. You may be right, but normally the competition for the New Orleans token is highly contested. This is a very short game with only 10 ORs, so two extra early builds are quite important to establish the ability to run two train as well as claim the off board bonuses. Again thank you for watching.
Hey, I’m thinking of setting up a rig to do time lapses of whatever 18xx games I’m going to be playing in the future, would you mind sharing insights for how you set up your camera rig for these videos?
Thank you for watching the video. Sorry for the delay in responding, I was at the World Boardgaming Championship in Seven Springs PA. The rig I use is a lighting tripod with an extension rod that puts the camera about 2 feet above the board. I just use a simple 1080 webcam and an adapter that allows me to attach the camera to the extension rod of the lighting tripod. I hope that is descriptive enough for you. Sometimes I just use my phone to capture the picture and then edit it into the video using iMovie.
Loving the video! I am relatively new to 18XX, so I was hoping for a rules explanation. At around the 1:15:30 mark, you run a 4 train owned by light purple through Selma which appears to be to be tokened out by L&N and the IC. You do it a couple of times in later ORs, so it makes me think I’m missing something. Is there a reason the Western can run through Selma from Montgomery?
I think this is more straight forward and easier to teach due to the lack of the private company auction and definite ending. I enjoy playing them both.

Thank you for watching. I will be starting to make more this summer.

@@18xxtraining625 Oh, I'm very sorry to hear that! I hope everyone made it through and is getting back on their feet!

Thank you for the kind words. I just posted another this morning. We played Friday and Sunday this weekend.
Excellent video with a great production. My copy is otw from AAG, and I'll hopefully use it to introduce many folks to 18xx.
Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to watch. I hope you enjoy your copy.😃
Thank you for watching, my abuse of the English language is only exceeded by my lack of knowledge😃

First thank you for watching, just for curiosity sake, could you give me a time stamp for the error you saw?

indeed!
How do you feel this one stacks up to 18chesapeake? Just watching through now

It is also a shorter title.... so more plays
