@@aspjake123 In competition, they use the warm up to, well, warm up the motor and set some parameters but some crews slap the throttle to help seat in the clutch plates. Not all teams do burps.
@@stevespenscom Thank you Steve. I thought the throttle bumps were to kinda clear out the motor and scare the crowd! I really do remember my first TB!!
I noticed all the time when they do a start up, they always rev the idle up before shutting it off.. is that to burn out anything in the combustion chambers?
There is no way to even describe the amount of noise that these things make. You can kind of get an idea from the way camera moved with the throttle snaps but it still doesn’t do it justice.
I’m driving that one day and I’ve been dreaming about this for a long time that’s the funny dragster car I want. The color I want, Black and orange. $ millions of dollars in caaassssssshhhhh. I am super spool I want everything. I want 12,000hp top speed 300mph
The economy even takes a toll on large teams. Nirto Methane was never cheap, but with the economy, it's price has sky rocketed even further. Can't afford to hit the throttle. In fact, just in 2007, Nitromethane costed about $60 a gallon. Now, it's closer too $100 a gallon.
what a shame, i still love the sport and always will but i do miss stuff like this, long burnouts, and the quarter mile length. i guess even the cost of nitro methane will make it more unlikely to bring back the quarter mile

No they wouldn't do because the gear ratio is too low and more importantly If you run the engine at max power for more than 15 seconds or whatever you will turn the whole thing into a ton of dynamites ( and fireworks)

If it seats the clutch then the teams that do not do that are not seating their clutch? That seating the clutch idea is a myth.
oh, you race a Honda? that's cute....
XD
I race a geo metro m8 get fucked
LMAO
@FAKETAXI SRT4 show me a Honda that runs 335 mph
Thats worth millions and pays big bucks

I love the way the camera went kabloowey when he whacked the throttle!
wholly fuck. did you see the camera distort when he gave it a rev
DAMN. Love how the camera distorts

I noticed all the time when they do a start up, they always rev the idle up before shutting it off.. is that to burn out anything in the combustion chambers?
They turn off the fuel supply and it leans out, but yes it burns the excess

It’s actually the lense of the camera attempting to absorb the shockwave FYI
i thought he walked by and stopped that tire with his hand lol
How much does the engine cost? Maybe a nice work of art to put in my living room
Thanks, i think might have an issue with my thin wallet ;-(
