Is it 16 for license in other states? Here in NJ the earliest you can take your road test to get the license is the day you turn 17, so I’d think most people would get their license as a junior, right?
At our school 85% of kids who drove were lil rich kids. If you were a sophomore and drove then your family had money, not a single non rich kid drove until they were a junior or senior, most not until half way through junior year. I could've drove, my parents had enough vehicles (we were far from rich, my dad just always has had multiple vehicles, even an older safer SUV that was hardly used anymore and they still wouldn't take me to get my license until I was 18 and graduated! Because I didnt read enough! Like really, you gonna hold me back and hinder my learning and development in preparing for the real world because I wouldn't spend enough time in a fake world? Lol and it's not like I didnt read, I just couldn't stand only ever reading, they would ground me to my room and I was only allowed to read (and this was even with me having my AR points for the current semester and some and it didnt matter. Anyways, then my not necessarily rich but well off, quite comfortable grandparents go to a cheap ass auction and buy me a $1200 SOFT TOP cavalier, first off, I'm a guy, so nah... second, the soft top was broke from the day I got it. After just under one year later, we had piece by piece almost replaced everything and had spent an additional $2400 on top of the 1200 or so that it cost. All the time they were still getting it for me she kept saying that they were getting me this "newer" car so itd be something that would be reliable and newer so I wont have to work on it constantly, ya see, she said this because my dad had finally helped and gave me his oldest most torn up vehicle, that's fine I thought because it's a suburban and an oldschool, so gma thinks hez just giving me more work, well, that was 12 years ago, (mind you, at the time we'd had the truck in the family for about 10 years and after we used it as a family vehicle, dad used it as his work truck, so needless to say, the truck definitely looked like itd be a constant project, but it was only just retired this year and it still runs with over half a million on it, just too much body and other issues. Point is, the car she got to help me out because she thought the truck was unreliable, ended up being more of a problem than the truck ever was. So anyways at my school those were the rich kids and us cool kids rode custom built, custom painted pro bmx bikes to school... although mine had to of been the best/coolest cause it was mine always getting stolen or attempted to... hell, one year I had done some good finds and builds over the summer and traded up and had a bike worth more than half the schools cars. My senior year I had a shed full with thousands of dollars worth of rare and vintage bikes that had I wanted to at the time, I could have sold em all and bought a used Mercedes or something lol

It all depends, when he graduates sure there will be *tension* for him, but it also depends on age of consent, but if both of them hold off on it like they should, given that they would still be together, there’s nothing else illegal there. I know people who graduated with me and one was already dating a girl two years younger and kept on so, and another started dating a girl still in high school. First year for AP classes for me and I totally underestimated how hard those things are ughhhh. Straight A student before now I've got like three Cs and two Bs. AP classes don't even count for 5 on the four scale they are still just 4. There goes my GPA honestly.

As a Freshman, it's like walking into a person's mansion. It's starting a new year to a fun and enjoyable start As a Sophomore, it's like finding more opportunities in life and getting more engaged with others and trying out different class courses. As a Junior, ur pretty much just not giving af abt school. You know grades aren't gonna matter as much to college as if they look at what activities you did throughout highschool and maybe middle school for some colleges. This can also apply to college. Grades are important depending on your major but ultimately it's the experiences and connections you make that can help you after college.
Sometimes if Seniors don't have many of their credits left and don't want to take any electives then they can just have free periods or do a half-day schedule

Idk my school was small, graduated like a year ago, there was about 10 people in my grade who were depressed, so 14%, the rest were actually happy most of the time, obviously there are hard times where everyone is feeling down such as finals junior year. things are different when the school is small, everyone know's everyone and thier family so there was no bullying to speak of after grade 6 and 7 but even then its quickly stopped, clicks dont really exist outside of basically the strange ppl who were into crazy colors, loud outfits and slightly unstable they formed a group of 10 but no one was particularly mean to them they just were separate, the girls are always mean to eachother, never understood that but the boys we all played video games together and we would have our groups of who we liked to play with more but we played with everyone who wanted to play. I guess tribalism doesn't work when there isn't enough people to form tribes

It goes like Freshman go to this abbey in state, the Sophomores go do service work somewhere, the Juniors go to Rome, and the Seniors go hiking in a mountainous region in America-Colorado, New Mexico, places like that(we are Americans by the way)-and every class says that Rome is the best(for obvious reasons) but Sophomore pilgrimage(that’s what we call it) is the one where they bond most and, since it happens in October, they are close for the rest of the year. Then Senior pilgrimage brings them closer. I’m going to be a junior so I can say for certain that this is how it goes with Sophmore pilgrimage and I was close to the Seniors and they said the same thing even after New Mexico

My school: Freshmans: wow the seniors noticed me. Kendall just waved to me in the hallway. Sophomore: basically the freshmans cuz covid happened. Juniors: chill, cool, gives off senior vibes Seniors: worshiped because of their skills (in my case band/choir/and drama), but in actuality they are or almost are adults who still act like children. Just an update (no one asked but im a theatre kid so being overly loud and giving unwarranted details abt my life is part of my personality now so,) : Half the year has passed and a lot has happened in my first year of high school. I found a lot of great friends from all different grade levels who are willing to dote me with attention. I also gained a new flare of confidence as I discovered my strengths. There were many sad days, even weeks, when the workload gets too much (my school offers AP World to freshmans so I took on the opportunity to make myself miserable). But, I’ve also learned a lot. From accepting that dumb people exist to knowing that it’s ok if I don’t have the “god-given” privilege of competent parents. And I’ve learned to let people come and go. Because, in the end (meaning that if I die tomorrow), I’ll have done what I could to live my life. Even if I still haven’t figured out my favorite color or my exact dream career. I could be a Disney storyboard artist, or a screenwriter, or a voice actress, or a broadway star. Various hopes and dreams aside, I’m just trying to get through each day and stay alive. And I guess that’s enough for a freshman in high school.
The depressed juniors. I've been out of highschool for 25 years and that was accurate even then. However, seniors were way cool. Very chill especially after they were done with SAT/ACT testing or decided to head to tech school.

As a college student I still can't believe I woke up early for 12 years and was in class by 7:30am. High school seemed like misery but I wished I appreciated it more when I was there because college is not fun
I've always been slow and bad at managing my time but the amount of work I get now is insane, pulling all nighters every Sunday to Monday and Wednesday to Thursday, while all the other days I only get 5 hours of sleep. Not to mention the final deadline of a project, I'll have to stay up for 2-3 days finishing my work before I have to submit them In the afternoon. And it'll be even more hectic every year. Sometimes I regret choosing the study program that I was so passionate about as a kid, I just hope it'll all be worth my time and effort. I miss being dumb and oblivious while fucking around with my friends in highschool and middle school.

Idk my school was small, graduated like a year ago, there was about 10 people in my grade who were depressed, so 14%, the rest were actually happy most of the time, obviously there are hard times where everyone is feeling down such as finals junior year. things are different when the school is small, everyone know's everyone and thier family so there was no bullying to speak of after grade 6 and 7 but even then its quickly stopped, clicks dont really exist outside of basically the strange ppl who were into crazy colors, loud outfits and slightly unstable they formed a group of 10 but no one was particularly mean to them they just were separate, the girls are always mean to eachother, never understood that but the boys we all played video games together and we would have our groups of who we liked to play with more but we played with everyone who wanted to play. I guess tribalism doesn't work when there isn't enough people to form tribes

It goes like Freshman go to this abbey in state, the Sophomores go do service work somewhere, the Juniors go to Rome, and the Seniors go hiking in a mountainous region in America-Colorado, New Mexico, places like that(we are Americans by the way)-and every class says that Rome is the best(for obvious reasons) but Sophomore pilgrimage(that’s what we call it) is the one where they bond most and, since it happens in October, they are close for the rest of the year. Then Senior pilgrimage brings them closer. I’m going to be a junior so I can say for certain that this is how it goes with Sophmore pilgrimage and I was close to the Seniors and they said the same thing even after New Mexico

The first half of my senior year was virtual and it really ruined the year for me. I switched back to traditional for second semester and I was excited, which then switched to me just wanting the year to be over already
That's probably cause going to school virtually for so long was starting to give you anxiety. Now you know why older adults with a brain demanded kids go back to school. It truly can have an impact on a child's mental health.
To everyone entering high school: please don’t overwork yourself, pick subjects you enjoy, try your best, and go to sleep at a reasonable time!

As an incoming freshman. I can say that this was how my first week went. The sophomores were annoying and made fun of the freshmen. The juniors were all depressed. And the seniors did whatever they wanted to do

Seniors: worshiped because of their skills (in my case band/choir/and drama), but in actuality they are or almost are adults who still act like children.
Just an update (no one asked but im a theatre kid so being overly loud and giving unwarranted details abt my life is part of my personality now so,) :
Half the year has passed and a lot has happened in my first year of high school. I found a lot of great friends from all different grade levels who are willing to dote me with attention. I also gained a new flare of confidence as I discovered my strengths. There were many sad days, even weeks, when the workload gets too much (my school offers AP World to freshmans so I took on the opportunity to make myself miserable). But, I’ve also learned a lot. From accepting that dumb people exist to knowing that it’s ok if I don’t have the “god-given” privilege of competent parents. And I’ve learned to let people come and go. Because, in the end (meaning that if I die tomorrow), I’ll have done what I could to live my life. Even if I still haven’t figured out my favorite color or my exact dream career. I could be a Disney storyboard artist, or a screenwriter, or a voice actress, or a broadway star. Various hopes and dreams aside, I’m just trying to get through each day and stay alive. And I guess that’s enough for a freshman in high school.

The depressed juniors. I've been out of highschool for 25 years and that was accurate even then. However, seniors were way cool. Very chill especially after they were done with SAT/ACT testing or decided to head to tech school.

I've always been slow and bad at managing my time but the amount of work I get now is insane, pulling all nighters every Sunday to Monday and Wednesday to Thursday, while all the other days I only get 5 hours of sleep. Not to mention the final deadline of a project, I'll have to stay up for 2-3 days finishing my work before I have to submit them In the afternoon. And it'll be even more hectic every year.
Sometimes I regret choosing the study program that I was so passionate about as a kid, I just hope it'll all be worth my time and effort. I miss being dumb and oblivious while fucking around with my friends in highschool and middle school.
