    Scary to be seeing this in 2024 and witnessed being built. This monument truly looks like something from Singapore it's huge. They've since closed the Treasury and this has since opened. Absolutely wild.

    Queenslanders have heard "world class" from the white shoe brigade ever since the early days of Joh Bjelke-Petersen and should have learned by now not to trust anyone who uses the phrase.

    Brisbane will become one of the most marvelous cities in the world which people living there can be so proud of as a great shopping , pedestrian scrolling area, for relaxation like in Singapore. I have once been there 36 years before. I really want to revisit there to see those new precincts of the new buildings. 😍🗻🗾🌎😘

      The traffic situation is a big problem around the world in major cities in which the Queensland Government, Brisbane City Council, and Redevelopment Brisbane Trust identified, and as such, part of the Brisbane Redevelopment is a major investment into modernizing and making public transport into one of the best, safest, and quickest public transport systems in the world which is also at the forefront of environmentally friendly systems which has been approved and construction is currently ongoing, and due to be completed in 2024.

    I hope they are taking into account those who use that cycle path close to it regularly. Like a proper bike path separate from the pedestrians. If you don't have this into account you are failing into including an essential mode of transportation that is actualy safe for the environment that you need to be able to have people staying in your hotels. As you are going to need a lot of security, train your staff in cultural awareness and safety and train them to improve their emotional intelligence. A private project that seeks to get rich just a few should be able to give back to the community in a better way.

    I’ve lived in Brisbane since 1983, worked opposite that ugly Treasury Building for nearly ten years and I didn’t even know most of those historic buildings even existed! Those I know are not accessible due to traffic and no stopping. I think this is a great plan, I’m too old to appreciate the nightlife and meeting friends for Friday drinks but generations of young people will. It will draw people from all over SE Qld and beyond. Look let’s be honest, this consortium are not fairy godmothers, they are in it to make money, but looking beyond the glossy video presentation the scheme looks a winner for all in my eyes.

      true but it seems impossible to turn the river clean with blue color, I heard. Because of the color od brown mud maybe. Rather be careful of long and big sharks there lol

    • @jimmyboy2
      @jimmyboy2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong. It's dirt but not pollution. There's over 100 contributory streams/creeks and rivers that drain into the brissy. They dump this dirt and mud into it. The brissy river itself is a sand bottom river, sand from Moreton Bay. Sand in storms is deposited along the river banks. The dirt cannot (should not) ever be 'switched off' as it provides nitrogen and nutrients for the sea grass in Moreton Bay which feeds the large Dugong population. It's mostly brown in summer, the wet season and in winter (with little rain) it turns dark green/black. The council is spending 10s millions on river sustainability projects, incl planting trees around creeks/streams, landscaping along degradation susceptible river bank areas, stopping drenching, etc

    The Ritz Carlton in Melbourne that's under construction is much nicer than this one. Better view, better designed building. Melbourne has much better architecture than Sydney and Brisbane and I'm originally from Brisbane.

    LOL. That. is. hilarious. I get why some people have to live in this town, but why anyone would go there without any coercion defeats me.

      @Spew Sideways You feel trapped in BrisVegas. I moved away 15 year's ago and never looked back. I miss Bardon and Toowong a bit but definitely not the CBD 💩 hole

      @Spew Sideways I heard that. I felt always better in summer. Was going to visit Australia this year but covid happened. I came across a list ‘pros and cons living in Australia’ and all the cons were pros to me. Dunno, maybe it’s just me but feels like that country is the best on the earth. The more videos I am watching about the beautiful places and lifestyle, the more I like it. Unfortunately I believe I won’t be able to visit it even in 2021.
