I also make all my sounds in my songwriting. I have 10000 init sounds I REALLY need to save. Ray you're honestly a real inspiration to me. Im glad there's someone else who's actually a legend that also doesn't have a super tech approach. Love you man. Seen you about 3 times now and you're always dope. Your set at bass canyon 2023 was awesome and then I saw you at thunder dome 2024 and you were the set that really got me into the show. You make really dope mixes live. At one point you got frisky and went off script and it was some nasty quarter note riddim bass you looped and accidentally dropped the drums in off time. I went fucking BANANAS 🍌 the most grimey hood riddim shit I've ever heard from you. And THEN you got on the mic and said that's proof of live djing as if it sounded bad. You're a good person and I appreciate you. You sir are a legend in dubstep. You've inspired so many people. You must learn to know this.
I really like that Ray Volpe gives his team the equal spotlight and says how much he appreciates them. I often cringe when I hear big artists(especially singers/rappers- most have producers and mixing/mastering engineers supporting them) take all the credit when they have a bunch of people helping them with their projects. Think about all the people doing visuals, marketing, mixing/mastering, live visuals for festivals.
Can't lie. I became a huge ray volpe fan in 2016 when i first heard the marshmello Ritual remix and Overflow. Outerworld and Bermuda, Mind Games, and ESPECIALLY the remix with getter for GTA are still some of my fav songs in the entire genre. I still loved his music just as much through 2019-2021, but right now i feel like he's just doing festival briddim by the numbers with a bit more style for the sake of commercial success. I love to see that he's growing so much as an artist but I feel like his music has lost its personality and energetic touch that made me and many others such a massive ray volpe fan for so long. It felt like he was the only guy still making dubstep in the style that i loved throughout the 2010s and i had so much respect for that. Kinda torn on that idea because obviously that won't get you anywhere in this scene at the moment. Idk man i love to see him get the success i have always felt he deserved but i can't stand the circumstances in which it came. The stompy distorted style of dubstep that has ruled this scene for the last half decade is just not good or interesting
Gotta disagree. his stuff has gotten immensely better over the past few years even just the sheer quality of it alone, an artist cannot stick to the one style for decades and expect to make a living - people grow, evolve etc.
Great pod guys! I don’t listen to bass music in general but I’ve seen a lot of huge bass artist in festivals & I can definitely say that I’ve had so much fun at a ray volpe show!
When Ray Volpe talked about people being afraid of appearing cringe in social media posts it made me think of Salvatore Ganacci. Now I don't think he is cringe(absolutely hilarious actually) but some people may think he is. Point being is that the quality of cringe is subjective and even then the cringe aspect may have some charm to it that people will regardless be fascinated(just be confident in what you choose to do). In the same way Salvatore Ganacci has gained a lot of attention towards his music and his branding. Also you don't have to be liked by everyone and at times having somewhat of a cult following is better than having surface level followers.
These interviews are so great. The producers are always so down to earth and cool and I’m so happy for their success. I love learning about the details of their production process too. Really motivates me to keep producing. Y’all gotta get Isoknock on here at some point!
It would’ve been super dope for him to get on some CDJ’s and show us some tricks at the end. Kind of like some guests do with Ableton but with CDJ’s. Hearing him talk about DJing was cool.
Ray, keep be authentically you and you’ll keep rising. I promise you dude, you connect with people. Your music is dope and your sets are wild. Can’t wait to see you at Lost Lands!!! ❤ Remember that you got yourself where you are. Hearing that you grew up 15 minutes from me is inspiring as hell and makes me want to push harder to “make it” ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Pressure makes diamonds homie ❤ Happy belated birthday🎉
The thing about subtronics or excision is their brand has very little to do with their name. So if you have a name make sure your brand is also in place :)
Yoo I commented on your last vid that I can't access the sample packs I bought on your site. You told me to send you an email. Over 2 weeks and few emails later I didn't get any answer. Can you just answer and let me download my packs please? :|
@@XLNTSOUND Did it "get buried" again? Are you guys trolling or what? Why don't you put a download link for people in their profiles so they can download the packs they bought freely? I'm sure I will not buy from you again just because you don't care at all.
thanks for having me on to chat boys! y'all are the goats 🫶
Really inspirational hearing your story! Love the fact that you used to make cod edit as Ive recently done the same transition! 🤓👍

Ray, you know how to make music. The fact that you think you can’t is proof
this video is awesome!! Literally what I needed, keep up the great content guys :)
I absolutely love this show i really hope you guys keep doing it and do it more often with a ton of different artists and producers

the open honesty was refreshing

that comparison with adobe and ableton is so accurate.
Hands down one of the best interviews. So many nugs of knodge and I'm feeling so inspired. I needed this! 🙌🏽💚

This was a VERY informative pod. Really like the topics you all managed to talk to about. Insightful comments from you Volpetron
When you get a really talented producer and also a really intelligent guy, Volpe is what you get and thats why he's blown up now

Amazing Video with Volpetron 🔥 Hope to see Skrillex one day on this podcast 🙏
Thank you!!❤
Best one by far
I highly believe ableton and Adobe have been long lost family members.
He’s great.
This was funny😂
SHOUT OUT DA SCIENTIST VOLPETRON
Haha hearing dubstep DJs explaining doubles is funny, check out some drum and bass, most sets are doubled if not tripled majority of the time
Is this podcast on Spotify? If not, it should be. I couldn’t find it
Scratch that. I found it!
can someone explain the value of putting a high cut on your master? how does that any make sense?

Shout out to the 2012 Skype days
I thought it was Volp😂😂😅😅
Can we get Good Times Ahead on here though🤔
We had them already!!
Would love to have em back tho!
Danny got an upper-decky lip pillow?
Is that Oliver tree on the left!?!?😮
