I love the Meyer Products. I almost bought the fall scented ones last night at Target. Now that I have seen you use them I may purchase now. My least favorite chore is laundry, by far! But I also have a family of 4 to clean up after lol. I’m so OCD about my house but it’s sometimes a never ending battle with children.

I totally agree on having your haven all set up and cozy. I’m currently on a short business trip (which I love traveling!) but lighting a candle and relaxing at home will be more than welcome at the end of the week. Although, right now my apartment is much more chaotic than this hotel room. My ceiling leaked pretty badly last week during a rainstorm and there was water on the floor and pieces of ceiling. I had to move everything out of my closet, so the rest of the apartment is super cluttered right now. The landlord will fix it “when he feels like it, but is going to be a lot of work.” 😑 lol I almost prefer my old apartment. It was small but oh so cozy and clean. I love where I live now, the location is perfect for me, but might just have to order from Grove so as soon as the ceiling is back in business I can just enjoy having my own haven back.
I had to google HSP, since I hadn’t heard that term before (we do HRPs at the gym - hand release pushups - not the same 😂). My search lead me to a video introducing HSPs with Susan Cain’s book Quiet: The Power of Introverts - which has been recommended to me. I’ve done Gallup’s StrengthsFinder and that has been a game changer for me over the past four years - learning about myself, my work ethic, and my quiet tendencies!

Glad to see you in better spirts it seems! I feel like I have some HSP traits but not severe, overstimulation can definitely make me uncomfortable and I love to be in my room cozy. And yes coming home with a bunch of new cleaning supplies tickles my fancy 😂😂 and also hygiene products, I LOVE buying hygiene 😍😍🤣

Blair, I found you via your Disney vlogs and videos and the more I watch the more I realise we are kindred spirits! Honestly, seeing how unapologetically organised you are and how much you geek out over cleaning products/home products has made me feel less embarrassed about being the same way! The people around me in the UK are not like me and can be a little mean/belittling about it and I always feel the need to call myself silly or over the top before they get the chance. But I will stop from now on since I know my life is more organised than them and I'm happy, so that's all that matters! I'm sure you didn't expect such a heart felt out pouring on this video, but thank you and you're great! X

I love grove! What’s nice is that almost every order you get something free in it. Like last time I got hand sanitizer, chapstick, and something else. It is a good feature because it lets you try stuff that you normally wouldn’t buy, for free. I love everything you got! It all works really good. 2 other things I recommend is the method toilet cleaner and the foaming shower spray. We have really hard water and the foaming spray does a really good job of cleaning it. Also that Apple cider is a dream!!

You should try the method rhubarb anti-bacterial spray (all purpose) great cleaner and smells so amazing

We are at the tail end of finishing our basement, so all the things we normally store down there are filling my dining room and living room. I cannot wait until it is all done and I can give everything a new home (and stop looking like a hoarder)! Maybe when that is finished I will have more calm. That citrus press from PC is easily one of my all-time favorite gadgets! I've used it weekly for years. There is something very satisfying about getting all the juice out of a lemon or lime. We love everything PC. I have quite the collection going and buy from everyone's parties, ha! If you ever host an online one, I will totally buy from it! Also, I feel you on the salt... I am very sensitive to it and cannot stand over salted food. Bless Riley and his tolerance, haha!

I've had great luck with the Method daily shower spray! We go through it pretty quickly, but even just spraying it on the metal hardware in our shower has made it clean/sparkly/removed any film on it without scrubbing!

I love the after shower spray- I also HATE cleaning the shower. The spray helps for that in between time to drag that out a little longer ;).

You mentioned the apple cider spray in a different vlog recently, so I ordered it a few days ago via Target pick up. Also got the apple cider hand soap and some apple cinnamon Glade plug in refills. Thanks for mentioning the spray - all of these items put together makes it feel a little more like fall despite the hot Florida weather!
I love Grove! I know that you usually make your own homemade laundry detergent, but I highly recommend trying Molly's Suds, it comes in a peppermint scent that I absolutely love, and it works great!

I clicked this video so fast when I saw the HSP part of the video title! I have the book as well, I am an HSP and the first time a therapist said to me "you're very sensitive, aren't you?" my mind was blown and my whole life suddenly made sense. When I dove deeper and learned about HSPs it all became clear as to why I can't handle things other people can =) Homemaking isn't a hobby of mine like it is for you, but I can certainly see why HSPs would tend to be more focused on having their home be "just so". Clutter just fries my brain and I really feel uncomfortable in my home when things aren't as minimal as possible. We have no basement or storage in our current house so it's been a challenge, my living space drives me crazy, I'm currently redesigning the whole place so we can put everything out of sight and have a lot of folding/stacking/storage-containing/multi-purpose furniture so my home can finally stop over-activating my nervous system. You are very brave to be on youtube as an HSP - good job! You have built good boundaries I can tell.

I have to first say I love your new chandelier! And I can feel your excitement over the new cleaning products! I've heard so many positive things about Grove Collaborative lately, so I'll have to check them out. I'm already a fan of the Method products. And lastly, I made the mac & cheese this past weekend and it was sooooo good! That's a shame that you accidentally over-salted your latest batch, but at least Riley thought it still tasted good. :-)
I have 2 things, 1: you moving that chandelier was great. I had thought at one point it wasn't center, but I though maybe it was the lighting. and 2. I hope you add more homemaking videos soon. :) They're fabulous.
HSPs are hard to parent, Dr. Linda Silverman was a huge help to me for my daughters (both HSP, and very intelligent ). She recommended I read that book to help them when they were teens, she has several other resources for you. Just Google her.

I'm with Riley! I'm unfortunately a salt girl! Funny story. My husband and I have been married for 27 years. Right after we got married, I invited my Mom and brother to dinner. It was the first time we had company. I wanted to make my grandmother's meatloaf recipe. It has a little bit of sugar in it. I don't know how I did it but I ended up doubling the sugar. It looked delicious and smelled awesome. We sat down to eat and I tasted it first. It tasted as sweet as cake! So awful!! So, after I cried a little bit, we ate sides, bread and dessert! Not at all what I planned for my first dinner party but at least it gave us a good story to laugh about all of these years later! 😊😊

I've got the book on hold. I'm interested to read it. I feel like I am a HSP but not sure. I feel like after 10 years of teaching middle school I've gotten better...but still have moments.

Oh hello hsp here! The book sounds interesting, I may have to put it on my list. I love the new chandelier, looks great. We have the same issue with our dining room chandelier. I actually want to replace it as well, more because my son has discovered if he pushes it, it will swing. Yikes! I was laughing out loud at Riley eating the salty mac n cheese. I can't take any salt in anything so I'm with you. :-)

Grove’s Customer Service is also great. Only once has something arrived and had leaked (very unusual). I emailed them and they responded within an hour apologizing and letting me know that they had added another bottle of cleaner to my cart for $0. I have loved my experience with them.

I actually can’t sleep, so I have just been watching youtube videos and I got a notification that you posted!! Haha... I actually have messed up my sleep schedule lately. I am a night owl too and usually stay up til like 12 but lately have been staying up til 3am and it has been making getting up so much more difficult in the morning but then I just repeat the cycle. Maybe it is time to put the phone down! Haha! Maybe you could make the cheesecake and post a recipe vid of it!

Haha I would pull a Riley and eat it. I love salt. No sugar, can’t stand sweet stuff. But I could just lick a salt brick like they give to farm animals.
