I dont get it. Why is it funny? Edit: watched it again as part of the whole mr show episode and it was funnier on second viewing. Still not even close to being untouchable IMO
I’ve watched this sketch at least two hundred times over the last 25 years and tonight was the first time I caught the “radio” part and realized the absurdity of it. Mr. Show is the gift that keeps on giving.
@@deboneighr4201 this episode is their magnum opus. I met David Cross at a pub in Boston after a Spoon concert in 2010 and I introduced myself by asking if he wanted to see my “Pit Pat” tattoo. He laughed and we ended up drinking together for a couple hours. He was a madman, he’d finish a pint then just drop his pint glass in the corner. I’ve even got a photo of us together.
i swear that when I was young I saw a commercial that I think this was based on. in fact there was a guy who came on Carson I believe that did trick shots that were kind of lame like this. If anyone knows the guy this was really based on, let me know. In much the same way as Bob's british informercial character was based on a real guy I think this character was as well.
The phrase “If Mandy Patinkin Was a Horse” resurfaced in my memory today and I just to hear this again :-)
Krystalnaught ,batman the horse
This pops into my head fairly regularly
Nothing will ever eclipse this in variety comedy. Pure absurdist satire. Untouchable.
one of the best comedy skits ever.

Batman the horse, is not waiting for anybody!
There is nothing like Mr show. Greatest comedy sketches ever done. Close second key and Peele and Monty python.
dont diss my homies. one of the funniest mr show skits
And that's my man.... nitrogen!
I lovvvvve the "old timey" voice Bob uses in this skit.
I still love to yell: "It's time for the awards...THE HOLLYWOOD AWARDS!" randomly, on the street.
I love the emptiness of the phrase "hollywood awards"
"The three crack-ups, Moe, Larry, and Curly. Hahaha, stop it, gentleman, you're gonna screw everything up."
You’ve seen him perform feats of unparalleled skill on TV and Radio.
God so many pieces of this to dissect and laugh at
Thats when lincoln said "don't diss my homies!"

@@Flannelsurfer agree! Seem to often pick up on something Ive missed before

Mr fast horse not living up to his name, going all slow like
Bob's a good candidate for "funniest man alive" as far as I'm concerned.
Agreed.
And now we know he's fantastic at drama too!
The best part of this whole sketch is that Bob Odenkirk very clearly is not good at pool.
+TheBrianJ He's still the best teaching by billiards instructor.
When he is in the corner and tries to sink the 8 ball and fucks it up whilst looking at the camera haha
This is also why Bob singing is one of my favorite things.
I think of this every time I see the name Judy
I love how the TBB Gold Seal is actually purple.
"Thirty-seven people died in a massive triple-decker bus accident in London, Britain, New Hampshire and WAAAAALES!"
"You'll receive a new tape every year"
Damn, there's like a decade's worth in that commercial!
This might just be my favorite Mr Show sketch! Love it!!!
I like that his terrible impression of Humphrey Bogart is a terrible impression of Cary Grant
It took so long for me to get that "Judy Judy Judy" wasn't a Humphrey Bogart line at all, what a brick joke!
He can’t keep getting away with it!
"The Hollywood Awards" has Scott Aukerman written all over it.
Batman: The Horse was later disqualified when it turned out it was just Adam West and Burt Ward in a pantomime horse costume.
The "snaps then palms out" move is a ritual at the office when an issue is solved. You should all do it too, RIP Van Hammersly
as david said in the commentary "every shot sealed with a clap"
"Kristallnacht"
"Stinkfinger"
"Ol' Felcher"
"Batman: the Horse"
LMAO
If Mandy Patankin Was a Horse
I love that the gold seal is magenta.
Of all the times I've watched Mr. Show this viewing was the first time i've ever noticed that
Humphrey Bogart "Judy Judy Judy"
And that's why we have nitrogen. Lol! Classic!
Is there a funnier line ever than "The Hollywood Awards!"? Only "Thirty seven people died!"
London, Britain, New Hampshire and Wales!
Thanks to HBO for putting the Mr. Show back on On Demand. I just watched this sketch and had to say it's one of the funniest they ever did
@jert38 "If Mandy Patankin Was a Horse", oh man.... gold.
Oh man, I was bettin' on, "If Mandy Patankin Was a Horse!"
Batman: The Horse
Never gets old
Judeh, Judeh, Judehhh!
Bam bam, and that's why we have nitrogen!
Batman: the horse isn't waitin' around for anybody!
I got real good at pool from this guy's videos
one of the instructional videos is billiards
If I were to ever find myself somehow owning a racehorse, I’m definitely going to name it Ol Feltcher
I clap, snap and pose whenever I do stuff.
*snap, clap, 'tah-dah"
Clap. Snap. Hands apart.
Van Hammersly became Vance Hammersly on Eric and Simon.
Dat meta life
i want those tapes!
Ol' Felcher!!!! LOL!!!
They cut off the end where he falls down on the table...
37 PEOPLE DIED IN A MASSIVE DOUBLE DECKER BUS ACCIDENT IN LONDON BRITIAN NEWHAMPSHIRE AND WALES!!!

+redshiftexperiment Minnesota Fats?
+Peter Ferdinando not sure.. Did you see Minnesota Fats in a commercial promoting teach you how to do trick shots or play pool?
Adam Harrington Huh?
You're probably trying to remember this one th-cam.com/video/vt6qYU9bVaI/w-d-xo.html
batman: the horse
Better call Saul!
...and radio
Corn futures?
Krystallnacht
...I can't help but do this when I play pool...
I believe that man's gay
Well, more power to him, Mother.
December 7, 1941….Prescient prediction of the movie “Pearl Harbor”
It's always bothered me that they misspelled Mandy Patinkin's name in this sketch.
its how i got my ged
Saul is good at billiards
Better call saul?
poor jimmy
So funny
2:26
krystalnacht? hahaha
Not to be confused with Krystal Knockers!
teaching by billiards gold seal
the original didn't have a laugh track, did it?
My parents did, and I have an IQ of 692.
hahaha
Today is the Kentucky Derby. Everyone watch this.
If viewing this tape qualifies you for a high school diploma, then you'll automatically get into Harvard by watching Rick and Morty.
