    Most people leaving comments on Amazon that their USB 3.0 flash drive is slow is because they either put it in a 2.0 port or don't have their usb 3.0 driver installed or working.

      As IT tech I've run into this many times especially on slightly dated OEM machines with Windows 7 that can heavily rely on the USB 3.0 driver.

    • @JoeLamOfficial
      @JoeLamOfficial  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's normal. When there's activity the light will blink. The thing is even if YOU are not using it, its' likely that the computer is accessing it every now and then when it does background stuff automatically.

      That is why I can here, to see if there is an activity LED. A close examination of the video suggests there is an activity LED as JL mentions in his reply to you but it definitely should have been pointed out in the review as these LEDs are now uncommon. A thumbs down for the video as the review missed an important distinguishing feature. A thumbs up for Enuf Ots for asking the question!

    Hi! I bought this USB couple of days before working good but before formatting and after formatting its showing less space 28.9 GB of 32 GB. Can you tell me please is it normal or not?
    Waiting for your reply.

    • @JoeLamOfficial
      @JoeLamOfficial  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Bilal Malik Hi, formatted actual capacity is always less than the indicated space. The extra remaining space is used to store directory files so the USB stick knows where the files are stored on the flash drive. Imagine the 28.9 is purely your own data, the rest 3.1 gb is the index telling the computer where each file is stored on the flash drive. Does that make sense?

    • @vishalsrivastava3656
      @vishalsrivastava3656 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Sandisk has a Serial Number written over products, call Sandisk support from your mobile or visit their site and do a chat and tell them to verify that the pendrive is fake or original, they will ask the SERIAL NO , tell them and they will confirm it. Long process but worthy if your product is not looking original or behaving weirdly.

      It's not Windows that's the question. It's your hardware, laptop or desktop. It depends if the hardware supports 3.0 USB. Even if it doesn't support the full speed. It's backward compatible with USB 2.0 so it'll work 100%, not at the full speed. But it's future proofed if you upgrade your computer.

    • @LordLab

      not really , when you do small test only begging of the NAND used , there is full speed tests like program will write data from 0-100% of the NAND , it will take time to write 32GB , then you run test again and rewrite data and compare speeds , this is a proper way to do full test . for example = i.imgur.com/XomzNqu.png

    I actually purchased this flash drive a few weeks ago and I am very dissapointed in the quality. First of all it's very cheaply made, but that wasn't nearly the biggest issue when I recieved it. It was when I actually slotted it into my usb drive on my lenovo laptop that the meltdown happened. My computer sparked up, I heard electrical noises, and to my horror, everything suddenly stopped working. The keyboard, the display, my word documents were in shambles. I had to actually pay GeekSquad to fix it for me and they said that the computer had been infected with a malware. I suspect it was the flash drive. I can't believe that would happen. I needed badly the extra 32gb to store my photos of my dog Rufus. He's a good boy, but I fear worse has come to worst and all of Rufus's pictures have been destrroyed. My poor, poor Rufus. So many years, so many memories. Thanks SanDisk, for destroying the only thing I had left of him.
