I encountered a potential bug that really bummed me out. Here is a summary: I started "Echoes of the past" outside of Saugus Iron Works when 3 Enclave soldiers ambushed me and one of them was wearing the Hellfire Power Armor. After I dealt with them and completed "Crucible," I stored the armor in a safe at the castle. When I restarted the game and continued "Echoes of the past," I noticed that all Enclave soldiers who were wearing power armor wore only X-01 power armor. Even when I loaded a previous save file and went back to Enclave locations, only X-01 armor models were present. When I went back to the castle, I looked in the safe where I stored the Hellfire power armor pieces and noticed that they transformed into X-01 power armor pieces. I thought I had misplaced the Hellfire armor pieces when I could not find them. However, I noticed that when I loaded an older save and restarted "Echoes of the past," even the Enclave soldier that wore the Hellfire armor the first time I went through the quest was wearing X-01 armor. That is when I made the connection between my "missing" Hellfire armor and a potential bug that transformed all Enclave power armor suits into X-01 models. :( From the videos I have watched of different gamers completing the quest, it appears that none of the Enclave soldiers are supposed to wear X-01. I hope somebody more sophisticated than I am can resolve this issue!
Same here I’m afraid… what’s worse for me is that I can’t seem to repair any of the power armor I’ve collected…. And what’s more, they didn’t even have any unique weapons when I fought them… it really is a shame that I missed this opportunity to fight much more heavily armored foes… but I guess it’s still cool in a way…
@@agoodmeme4823 Sorry to hear that! Yeah, this was the last straw for me. After dealing with the multitude of bugs, game crashes, and finally this issue, I didn't /won't touch Fallout 4 again unless Bethesda somehow resolves it or one of the many talented gamers posts a workaround online.
Good content? It’s hilariously low effort. It’s notes and terminals with no dialogue at all, a bunch of camps slapped around a map with workshop items as your reward, and old content that is used as a buffer between the broken new content the update shoved into your game. You can’t have standards THAT low.
@@AttakusZakus you're right. I don't. I think that less is more and that we got some cool new weapons, armor, and workshop items for free that are actually of decent quality. It could've been a huge buggy mess like Mothership Zeta, but it's not. We didn't HAVE to get anything in the next gen update, but we did. And it's not a mess of spaghetti code, from what I've experienced so far. Just let some people be happy, dude.
Wanna add that I started a fresh save not long ago without tracking the new quests. Organically came to Wattz Consumer Electronics and found something about a red devil. Curious I had missed something in vanilla fallout, I followed it to its completion and was rewarded with the X-02 power armour. This story is for those wondering whether or not, despite all its other flaws, the update is organically structured.
Its occurred to me the video does not touch on this so if you're at all curious about a story in the game: Go to Wattz Consumer Electronics Only warning I'll give is it does ruin the progression of grabbing the hellfire first, I guess
I was wondering about those Enclave encampment pieces, but completely missed the entries on the terminal as a reinforcements were arriving so I was rushing. Thanks to the info!
Hmmm... From what I understand there is two different versions of the start of the quest. The first is if you are doing right off the bat and everything which is this one where you have find the lost caravan around the field base. The second version is if you already have the X-02 or Hellfire Power Armor sets which then have the Enclave trying to ambush you to get them back. From there you get the hint to go to the Field Base where you are then told to go their main base in the Glowing Sea. The Ambush can be pretty anywhere on the map, my version had them showing at a built up Sanctuary which was wild! Though to be fair it wasn't in the middle of the Settlement but along the edges of it. Another guy I saw doing the quest on youtube had them ambush you at Starlight Drive In.
For me it happened after a settlement or quest asks you to kill the pyro hell fire PA, after that you learn that he stole it from the enclave and they were trying to recover it
I got ambushed after getting the Tesla Cannon from doing 'best of three' mission @ level 7 and had to run and duck and shoot until I killed dude and that's how I got the enclave power armor
@@SlabbyMess You mean the X-01 and X-02 Power Armor? They are both apparently Power Armors created for the use of the Enclave. The X-01 was introduced in the original version of Fallout 4, as the best of the Power Armor in game. Meanwhile, the X-02 was introduced via a Creation Club buy and now is included with the new Update with a new quest about the Enclave.
Just got the enclave armor earlier as well as the Tesla canon, I'm so happy about this, also didn't have to go far to put the armor on a frame because there was a practically full 51 type power armor suit
The “mine” that exploded during the fight with the Tesla cannon guy was actually a fusion core exploding, since he got out of his armor ima say it was his fusion core.
If you want to join the Enclave, there is the America Rising Mod. It does have an integration patch for the new content. I do however recommend that X-03 Hellfire and X-02 Mods over the CC versions of said armour. They're just... better.
I can't help but think that this would've been a good way for Bethesda to bring back some of the guns from Fallout 3 - namely, the 10mm SMG, the R91 and maybe (just maybe) the Chinese assault rifle & the Chinese pistol (which for the former, half the work for it would've been done since it was meant to be in the game already, but was cut for time/etc.) I mean, it's not like it'd be that hard to make it make sense: The remnants of the Enclave you're fighting in the Commonwealth are the surviving members of the Enclave from 3, who scattered after the BOS destroyed their base in the Capitol Wasteland. This tangent trekked their way to the Commonwealth, encountering several caravans they destroyed along the way, leveling a settlement or two and raiding old-world military instillations for valuable loot, which explains why they got their hands on some of the weapons. I hate to say it, but if _this_ is the best Bethesda was willing to do in the years-long absence of new content for Fallout 4, then I'm honestly quite disappointed. I mean, I get that they had other projects on hand like Shartfield... but considering 76 gets fed like a proverbial holiday pig via new content almost every other few months, it can't be helped to think that Fallout 4 was completely abandoned by Bethesda. Now, if Bethesda decided to add more content after this, I might just change my tune...
Fallout 76 is a live service game that is also being supported financially still. It just hit 1m players in a day. Fallout 4 is a 10 year old game getting a fresh coat of paint to tide people over due to the time between Bethesda releases. An update they put out while they're still in active development for Starfield post launch content. They're just not in the same boat for post launch support and honestly the community would flip if Bethesda updated 4 as often as 76 due to the huge modding scene. Really just ridiculous to say thay a 10 year old game with 5-6 dlc packs and a developer supported modding scene is considered "abandoned". No it's just done with major development. They've moved on and that's extremely normal.
This stuff in the glowing sea may be even cooler now that the atomic world mod is out. It adds 3 big derelict cities in the glowing sea with supermutants and stuff.
You're right about the X-02. It really is top tier. I invested in this CC long ago along with Sentinel Power Armor System. Those combined = "The Calvery" Though the only real bug in this update I noticed is when in the Crafting or Trade menu, the background goes pixelated-glitchy instead of out of focus. But everything else seems to work fine. Best of all, haven't had one game crash since updating.
I wish I could say that. Instead of traveling crashes, now they happen anytime, anywhere, no matter what I am doing. Two of my most recent three happened while I was talking and trading with a Companion. The third was as I was stepping out of the carport with the workshop in Sanctuary. In normal travel some things are happening. Mostly just a freeze for 2-5 seconds as I am walking down the road. I freeze, release the Xbox stick, a short pause, and the world starts again. The next freeze may be 10 steps further along or after traveling 500 meters. I feel like these freezes are crashes that were nipped in the bud because that was about the distance traveled between crashes.
I learned real quick to start putting a point into Penetrator. A bullet to a power armor's fusion core is a bullet to a power armor's fusion core no matter how powerful the power armor is.
I hate that Bethesda made that trash base-game. They didn't bother to get it voiced, they didn't make any attempt to make it implemented in an immersive way, they just made the quests pop up in your quest-log with nothing to explain why. No radio signal, no NPC, no note, no terminal pages. The gear is cool, implementation is trash. Also, they broke the incinerator quest, and the Tesla Cannon still doesn't have reloading animations. It'd be 100x better if the creation club stuff was optional to download, or if they get it the Skyrim Anniversary edition treatment, where they at least tried to implement the quests in a way that doesn't just make your character have the knowledge of: "Oh, I should go fight this guy named Pyro. Why? I dunno. Who is that? Dunno. How do I know where he is? Dunno."
I was playing AR2 mode, when the update was released, imagine being an actual Enclave colonel and killing other Enclave members from the new update....
Add the next gen update and get Enclave stuff OR Continue playing a game that works, with mods that still work, and find mods that add Enclave stuff if I decide I absolutely HAVE to have anything Enclave-related in my Commonwealth. Yeah, I think I'll go with the second one. I didn't ask for an update, I don't need it, I don't want it. I'll continue to play while not connected to the internet so it can't auto-downgrade.
I don't use very many mods, but all mine work, or at least as well as the game ever did. It still crashes to blue screen, but its never NOT done that, even with no mods. Its the same usual suspects, downtown Boston, and removing crops that pre-exist control of the settlement. If it helps at all, I'm using the USO base and add on mods, the scrap everything mod, and the settlement walls mod.
@@Tijuanabill Blue screen? When mine crashes, it just goes to the desktop. You might have a bit of an issue there. What I meant by working is, every time Bugthesda "updates" FO4 because some assclown uploaded a new skin for the sledgehammer to Creation Club, the script extender no longer works until it gets updated. Which means none of the mods that need it work. Which means the game won't work unless I want to play vanilla, and I don't. Plus, updating during a playthrough is a good way to end up with a save game that doesn't work, and you end up having to start at the beginning. A lot of the mods I have are done, the author isn't updating them any longer, so if there's a major change to the game, it's a choice between the mods or "updated" vanilla. I choose mods.
@@SCAR16L I'm speaking of PlayStation, not PC. Its not the "blue screen of death", its a blue screen that gives you a chance to send feedback about the crash. I read all these concerns about old mods breaking, before the patch came out. But in my own personal PS4 experience, they all work fine, and the mod authors updated them immediately.
@@Tijuanabill Ah. Huge difference then. Your mods will continue to work, because you can't use anything that requires the script extender anyway. I've got too much experience with Bugthesda breaking my games with "updates", so I update only once there are mods I really want to try but can't because they require X version of the game, and everything else I want has been updated or something better has replaced it.

Cool fact, if you complete the Tesla canon quest or the quest for the Dare Devil Power Armour, when you start the quest Echoes of the Past, you will be ambushed on the location that the quest marker is.
Easy way to deal with the high damage enclave group if you head from the start: go north from vault 111 to snag the fatman and mini-nuke. One long range mushroom delivery did pretty good at softening the group when I found the enclave bastids.
I had Ada with me during this first part of the quest, so obviously she destroyed the hellfire trooper so I didn't get to see it yet, so we head off to the sea, bro seeing just the eyes coming out of the darkness is horrifying
I had this crazy glitch happening during this quest! When I was at the glowing sea base, I’d run around and pick up as much power armor pieces as I could hold, teleport back to sanctuary to store them, and then teleport back. All the armor would respawn on the looted characters! I did this 3-4 times, I have 6 sets of the enclave armor now lol
Before Betheda's upgrade, the X-01 Power Armor was the best you could find (there are six sets of it in Nuka World alone). Now we have a set of PA that actually exceeds that of the X-01. Remember how previous mods that allowed us to get X-02 PA actually had less health than the X-01 after both had been maxed out.
I got the quest in a different way: I had to kill a raider called Pyro (i don’t remember how i got the mission), wich had an Enclave power armor. I took it and after a while, right after a quick travel, i got ambushed by an Enclave group, and one of them had another power armor and a holotape that said that they had to kill me bc i took one of their power armors. And that led me to their camp.
And this is why I've been watching ESO for a silly amount of years. Because he's truly enjoyable to watch and is stupidly loyal to the games he plays. Not just that, he knows near about anything when it comes to Elder Scrolls or Fallout 😭 Always been my go to when I've needed walkthroughs or tips. Hope your channel gets a surge of new Fallout fanatics and stumble across your vids 😊 keep up the good work!!!!!
Fun fact, if you kill pyro first and take his armor, the enclave will create a kill order to kill you, where you will have to fight a mk5 enclave hellfire power armor soldier. When you kill them after they find you, you can loot the kill order and get an additional set of hellfire power armor. This adds up to 3 hellfire power armor sets. Especially at early levels it is very helpful.

While X-02 and hellfire do offer a bit more protection, I still prefer Tesla T-60 for the extra energy weapon damage. It can also be upgraded further with the Visionary's Helm, Honor and Vengeance legs, and the Atom Cat's paint for a seriously versatile set up that trades a very small amount of defense for mobility and offense. It really shines with any of the tesla weapons or a gatling lazer. It's also considerably cheaper to upgrade and repair in terms of materials cost.
I do agree that t60 with legendary parts are go to variant, however, I was able to paint my hellfire power armor with BoS paint which also includes your current rank so... I like to imagine my BoS character is wearing hellfire armor as a trophy just to flex
I will note for everyone that when u kill pyro and take that hellfire power armor the enclave will send there soldiers after u to reclaim pyros power armor even if u dont have it on u like in ur inventory as long as u kill pyro and get there power armor the enclave will send a detachment after u. I was doing the one quest for paladen danse and i took out pyro which is a creation club thing but i ran into the detachment of the enclave after going outside from finding the lost recon team member at the military base
I quite liked making the plasma rifle into a sniper, hits like a truck even if the bullets are a bit slower. But that's not much of an issue when vats is hit or miss.
We have the BoS, the Outcast's and the Enclave, all we need now is the NCR and it's a party that will make the Minutemen and Railroad feel left out. By map locations it seems to hint the Enclave is working with (spoilers) Gunners and Forged, it would be interesting if that panned out into something really cool, but I doubt it. Would also been kinda cool if the Outcasts were trying to hook up with the Enclave as well. Tie in cc mods.
@@burnttoaster6313 Uhm, Enclave and Outcast's are modded in. NCR gear is modded in. Reilly's Rangers stuff modded in. I am sure there are New California Republic mods other than gear about. Besides, it was bad humor!

When I first loaded in the Enclave quest, for some reason, one of the soldiers in a power armor suit actually got out of the suit, and I got the entire power armor set including the frame. I haven't seen that too often without mods.
Idk how many people have this issue, but I have it where I have a red triangle with a excommunication mark in it when I have the baseball launcher, and the saw blade weapon
I'm running a few different mods that enhance the enemies of the wasteland, plus Whispering Hills, and the Enclave guys kicked my butt right away. I then used them to attack the raiders at Dunwich who were all way over powered to my lvl 6 character. The raiders ended up with a group of Children of the Atom, the Enclave, and Deathclaw I found nearby attacking them. It was epic, but in the end, the raiders won and I still have multiple skull lvl raiders to kill to start the Whispering Hills quest... It was quite the amazing war between three factions and a monster, but I'm going to have to lvl up a bit before I can move on with the Whispering Hills quest.
They just need to roll this damn "upgrade" back already and call it a loss. Because the issues with this thing is eclipsing the popularity boom the Fallout franchise received after the show!!
Discovered the Enclave Update by accident when casually passing by Dunwich. 😭😭 Was instantly jumped, immolated, and sent *far* back to my last checkpoint. ;-;
Would be cool if they were interested in the Vault 88 distress beacon. I know they don't care for vault dwellers but maybe they do for science staff and supplies, especially with them only being remnants.
Since the upgrade, I find myself with more Enclave PA than anything else. I don't even look at the traditional places to find it anymore. There is enough Hellfire and X-02 so that I can put extra sets of those in all my settlements (aside from the T-45 and T-51 sets). If you start a new game, expect all that PA to still be there when the game ends because who needs that obsolete stuff anyway unless you want to open a museum.
It would’ve been really cool if the enclave had a entry surrounding you in one of their terminals if you have already finished the main quest and destroyed the institute/prydwen
The 1st Enclave group I decided my tactic was hit them from across the water and the Hellfire Trooper was wading across not firing so he was easy to take out 1st.

From the videos I have watched of different gamers completing the quest, it appears that none of the Enclave soldiers are supposed to wear X-01.
I have been storing power armour off the frame. I keep it in the workshop. So far so good. This also prevents it from wandering off with a settler.

I feel a little less ripped off after buying Starfield now.
@SaltySojourn you bought Starfield? Last I saw it was on game pass...
Now a W for Bethesda period😂😂😂
Wanna add that I started a fresh save not long ago without tracking the new quests. Organically came to Wattz Consumer Electronics and found something about a red devil. Curious I had missed something in vanilla fallout, I followed it to its completion and was rewarded with the X-02 power armour. This story is for those wondering whether or not, despite all its other flaws, the update is organically structured.
Its occurred to me the video does not touch on this so if you're at all curious about a story in the game: Go to Wattz Consumer Electronics
Only warning I'll give is it does ruin the progression of grabbing the hellfire first, I guess
It's the Black Devil.
I was wondering about those Enclave encampment pieces, but completely missed the entries on the terminal as a reinforcements were arriving so I was rushing. Thanks to the info!
I traveled passed one of the encampments so I went to check and see if I'd left any loot behind and I found the trunks had respawned!
For me it happened after a settlement or quest asks you to kill the pyro hell fire PA, after that you learn that he stole it from the enclave and they were trying to recover it
For me happened at a bunker location, but it was caused by my killing the pyro dude and stealing his armor for myself and then they got sent after me
I got ambushed after getting the Tesla Cannon from doing 'best of three' mission @ level 7 and had to run and duck and shoot until I killed dude and that's how I got the enclave power armor
I got x02 under some building by Turning on a radio then later on they ambushed me. Is the x01 and 02 new?
@@SlabbyMess You mean the X-01 and X-02 Power Armor? They are both apparently Power Armors created for the use of the Enclave. The X-01 was introduced in the original version of Fallout 4, as the best of the Power Armor in game. Meanwhile, the X-02 was introduced via a Creation Club buy and now is included with the new Update with a new quest about the Enclave.
GUYS AUTHOR DIDN'T MENTION BUT NEAR THE TERMINAL ON A LOCATION WITH HELLFIRE ARMOR THERE IS A BED AND UNDER THIS BED YOU CAN FIND 4 FUSION CORES!!!!
The power armor that you can get before the museum at the crashed verterbird now has hellfire armor
The best thing about the tesla cannon is the fact that it doesn't have reload animation and as a result having infinite ammo
Just got the enclave armor earlier as well as the Tesla canon, I'm so happy about this, also didn't have to go far to put the armor on a frame because there was a practically full 51 type power armor suit
Joining the Enclave would be a very interesting DLC idea
Especially with Nate being ex-military
The “mine” that exploded during the fight with the Tesla cannon guy was actually a fusion core exploding, since he got out of his armor ima say it was his fusion core.
Actually,it was your mom exploding,as she was taking my immense girth.
I am disappointed that there aren't the enclave floors and walls, kind of like how you see at the 3 bases. But this update is amazing so far!!!
That will be fun if you lure the Forge and Gunner (+ Assaultron) near by to encounter those Enclave soldiers.
Do an "America rising 2" mod series. You can truly become an enclave officer. Loving it so far!
Oh man I decided to do a fresh start on my series X and I can't wait to get here.
Same bro let me know if you need anyone to play with
If you want to join the Enclave, there is the America Rising Mod. It does have an integration patch for the new content. I do however recommend that X-03 Hellfire and X-02 Mods over the CC versions of said armour. They're just... better.
I can't help but think that this would've been a good way for Bethesda to bring back some of the guns from Fallout 3 - namely, the 10mm SMG, the R91 and maybe (just maybe) the Chinese assault rifle & the Chinese pistol (which for the former, half the work for it would've been done since it was meant to be in the game already, but was cut for time/etc.)
I mean, it's not like it'd be that hard to make it make sense: The remnants of the Enclave you're fighting in the Commonwealth are the surviving members of the Enclave from 3, who scattered after the BOS destroyed their base in the Capitol Wasteland.
You put too much faith on Bethesda friend, we know how lazy they are about these kind of things. Good suggestion though.
Wait until you find out that the Fallout TV show was just a large gaslighting attempt to get people to buy Starfield.
16:05 that actually isn’t a mine. It is his fusion core being ejected. Which is why he got out of the power armor.
so your saying i wasted money on buying enclave stuff from the creation club
Pretty much.
Be like that with Bethesda and creation club
No,you wasted money by buying anything made by Bethesda lol...
You got it years earlier than me I'm guessing though
Yes
This stuff in the glowing sea may be even cooler now that the atomic world mod is out. It adds 3 big derelict cities in the glowing sea with supermutants and stuff.
You're right about the X-02. It really is top tier. I invested in this CC long ago along with Sentinel Power Armor System. Those combined = "The Calvery"
Though the only real bug in this update I noticed is when in the Crafting or Trade menu, the background goes pixelated-glitchy instead of out of focus.
Man, at first, I thought that this wasn't creation club content
It's now in the base game with the free update. You don't need to pay money for any of this.

Mods had already added all of this before.
The Incinerator and Tesla Cannon are amazing. Incredibly powerful and cost easy to get ammo
Add the next gen update and get Enclave stuff
OR
Continue playing a game that works, with mods that still work, and find mods that add Enclave stuff if I decide I absolutely HAVE to have anything Enclave-related in my Commonwealth.
I've got too much experience with Bugthesda breaking my games with "updates", so I update only once there are mods I really want to try but can't because they require X version of the game, and everything else I want has been updated or something better has replaced it.
you can add ballistic weave to commander outfit. with ultralight mod, it'll reduce weight from 20 to 4.5 or so.

Cool fact, if you complete the Tesla canon quest or the quest for the Dare Devil Power Armour, when you start the quest Echoes of the Past, you will be ambushed on the location that the quest marker is.
Thanks for another very useful guide.
Easy way to deal with the high damage enclave group if you head from the start: go north from vault 111 to snag the fatman and mini-nuke. One long range mushroom delivery did pretty good at softening the group when I found the enclave bastids.
It is crazy that this armor that was much more powerful then anything in the game was a paid item for years before this update. Shame on Bethesda.

I had this crazy glitch happening during this quest! When I was at the glowing sea base, I’d run around and pick up as much power armor pieces as I could hold, teleport back to sanctuary to store them, and then teleport back. All the armor would respawn on the looted characters! I did this 3-4 times, I have 6 sets of the enclave armor now lol
thanks for the video.
i will keep hoping for FALLOT 5
that would awesome if they do
Before Betheda's upgrade, the X-01 Power Armor was the best you could find (there are six sets of it in Nuka World alone). Now we have a set of PA that actually exceeds that of the X-01. Remember how previous mods that allowed us to get X-02 PA actually had less health than the X-01 after both had been maxed out.
Never needed an excuse to play Fallout 4. but thanks for the new content Bethesda! great video ESO!😁
And that led me to their camp.
...That's two separate quests.
I skip the words through every terminal, but if it's Enclave related, I take notes lol. God bless the Enclave!!!
The only note worth reading in Fallout 4, is at the terminal inside the Boston Bugle building.
God bless the minutemen.

It was quite the amazing war between three factions and a monster, but I'm going to have to lvl up a bit before I can move on with the Whispering Hills quest.
i love how the armor is 1 to 1 identical to the mods from like 5 years ago

If you use Jet and aim at the fusion cores you can collect 13 power armor suites, bring a companion like Cait and take two at a time
