when i used to use purigen in those preset bags they would last maybe one regeneration cycle before developing holes and leaking the purigen balls out. wish they made the bags a lot stronger.
Wow! That looks so much better! I have used purigen off and on in my tanks for a while and feel that it does work wonders taking out impurities and nastys.
Yes! I've been looking for this video for the past 3 days. I thought you took it down. I've juts bought a 100ml bag of Purigen off the back of this review. Thank you.
Aww thank you so much! I'm glad you found it! Purigen is insane I love it so much, just remember to remove it if you ever need to medicate your tank, I always forget 😅💕
Please answer this! First of all, Thank you! I have a brand new tank with no fish, I added South African Mopani and it is a very slight yellowish water. I was so worried, then I found out it was tannin, and needed help stopping it. I haven't fixed it yet, still no fish. And I have a question, do you still have tannin? Do you still use the Purigen? And where did you get the purigen bag from? Did you buy the the bag and purigen seperatly?
Hello! I still use Purigen on and off as needed. You can purchase Purigen in a bag like this in the 100g quanity, but this form of packaging isn't resealable. If you're using the tub of granules or something similar, you'll have to purchase a bag separately. I think they literally call it "Purigen The Bag". Good luck!
Also likely you'll always have to add Purigen since your water has Tannins in it. Each time you put water in your tank you'll be re-introducing tannins again.
Definitely! What surprised me is that I actually had the wood boiling for like a month before putting it in the tank, to the point where the water seemed pretty clear. But alas that was not the case haha, so I thought I'd give this a try. I've used this in the past to quickly clear up a purple tint apparently caused by blackbeard algae and wanted to see how quickly it would sort something like this out. I suspect the preboiling had an effect on how long this took but it was interesting to see nonetheless
Good question! But nah the woods still leaching even now, still having the change the purigen now and then or it tints back up. I didn't notice water changes making a difference, even with the purigen you could barely tell I had done one. But yeah with enough water changes and time you could remove the tannins without purigen, it's just this is a lot faster 😊💕
Purigen works within a couple days if you put it in the front of your filter instead of the back.

I use poly-filter pads that absorb chemicals and tannins. Just pop it in the main tank and the tannins will go in just a matter of days.
But what if you just have a sponge filter? (Its a small 5g)

dope. Thank you. Mine should clear in a few days lol.
I would have probably removed the wood and boiled it a couple times while the tanks getting cleared up 😅

Wait so what is that name of that little baggy?
Its called Purigen
Very helpful thank you so much😊
Made me laugh my butt off when you said GD.... 😂
Horrible uses GD
How many times did you change it out? Like bleach the purigon package?
I think it might be stated in the popup timeline titles, but off the top of my head I think I only switched it out once or twice during this video
Hello, did you say that you tried carbon?
Yes I did. I tried using carbon for a few weeks, replacing it every couple of days, but it didn't seem to be working.
52 days 🤔
Did the purigen really do it or did the wood just stop leaching?
Good question! But nah the woods still leaching even now, still having the change the purigen now and then or it tints back up. Very impressive
Read the directions ....
It would just take me 15 minutes to wipe the glass and change water. Clear as the day.
Do big water changes instead. 🙄
Interesting
Angel
Bleach bath👀

52 days? Better just change the water rather than wait that long.
Hi babe :)
Creep.
@@ollie2244 LOL!!
To long of a wait for this product, better off with water changes, API bio chem is much better.
