    ================================
    You need Excel 365 to use LAMBDA. Currently, you also need to enable the "insider" program option, but very soon, you don't need that for LAMBDA.

    Absolutely unreal. Programming and naming our own functions in Excel. It's happening!!! Thank you for providing these explanations for these new features. I'm literally going to start using this as soon as I get back to work on Monday.
    On another note, as someone who's spent the majority of their life in education, I just wanted to take a moment to praise your ability to break these concepts down in an incredibly concise and easy to understand manner. We need a million professors of your caliber in the states ASAP, please.

    Thanks for this explanation and demos. You get me reconsidering my feelings about LAMBDA.
    I'd been reluctant because they've been compared to UDFs and I've never needed a UDF. After your video, I'm willing to open my mind and look for possibilities.

    I will use this to create severity metrics (dollars/counts). An additional video would be nice to show how to create these functions so they are in every workbook. So they could be added to the workbook when it's created. Thanks!

    It is very easy to create new functions to use in the cells using VBA Functions (not subs).
    Lambda let us do SIMPLE functions, without VBA. Nice. But VBA allows more complex functions since it's a full program, and Lambda is just one formula.

    • @chandoo_

      I agree. Simply using LAMBDA as a way to obfuscate formulas seems like a bad business decision. At least in my case, if I were to use something like that, I'd be the only one in the company able to figure out how I did it -- and thus I'd be chained to the spreadsheet forever instead of letting people self-service.
