Thats an awesome solution for someone like myself , thats new to the boating world and realizing its not cheap. I was going to have LED strips installed by the pros. I didnt feel comfortable drilling holes into my baby or mucking around wires. This way, no holes, no more worrying in the middle of the night wondering if the boy/girls listened/remembered to turn off all the boat's lights so not to drain the battery, and enough colours to please everyone. And my favorite, money stays in the bank for my deep winter golfing trip fund. Thank-you !!!
👍Nice. 💝 I have those that I have strategically placed around the boat and another similar set that are “cup lights”....they sit down in the cupholders (for the boat & they work in the car too....which is nice at night on road trips). It’s nice for adding fun light on the boat and I give/assign people a color and that’s where they put their drink so there’s no confusion. 😉
I did this to my 22 foot Hydra sport and I LOVE IT I would not recommend that level of Velcro it’s too weak when I had my family in my boat they would knock off the lights really easy so what I did was get a 10 pound proof black Velcro patches for like a garage and cut them in half and stuck them on to my boat I can takeoff the lights when I want and replace the batteries and it worked out pretty well other than that great video!!!
Awesome idea! I was going to order some 12v light strips for my tritoon but funk that i just ordered 10 of these bad dudes instead! No running wires or drilling holes. Glad i caught your video!
What a great video! Thank you!! This is perfect for me, I don't feel right messing with the wires in a boat and this is so 👌🔥 Well done! I can't wait to do this !!😊🤗
Thank You! Thank You! This is so helpful. Well done video. Not a lot of "extra jabber". Love your comment about if you don't know how to put batteries in, you probably shouldn't own a boat! I'm going go go order the lights now. And as your babe would say "👍".
These look great. Love the idea of not having them pull power from the battery or having to run lighting strips. I ordered some for my bowrider. Can't wait to get them installed. Thanks!
Works great! I did this on my boat before I saw your video. I have had them for 3 or 4 years. It works well. I rarely go out at night, maybe 1 or 2 times a year. Works fine. If it was once a month or once a week, I would not want to change the batteries. Also, I used permanent 3M auto tape, so it holds up when I go out in the ocean. It works! I have 8 on my 23’ boat. Under the gunwale, looks awesome!
Do the batteries die a lot quicker than they say? I’m asking bc even if you were out once a month for a couple hours it seems they would last a while? Or no?
I have achieved a perfectly flush mount with these lights in my VR6. I bought the clear 3M Scotch mounting strips from Home Depot, and then used 2 layers on the back of the light to overcome to raised outer edge. It stuck perfectly and flush to the boat. Also I bought rechargeable energizer batteries to save on batteries. I’ll report back on how long their charge lasts.
They do not have these on your link anymore. But I found a package of 10 multi colored lights a bit smaller then yours. Gonna put them on my 16.5 foot stabicraft. I figure 3 inside the gunnels each side. one on back part for preparing lures & bait. Two up under cudy cabin part. & one at helm of boat. Bought long velcro strip & will cut it to fit each piece. Great idea. Better then paying out $1K drilling holes & wires. The ones I bought were $20 for 10 of them & have the round batteries already in them.
Very nice. This is something I think I will do. I want to put some lights on my boat. Got some for under water but cannot drill into boat because of the air chambers on my stabicraft
Hats off to you. Great video editing, sound, and most of all clear and concise instructions w/o unnecessary chatter. Now the down side, the lights are no longer available from Amazon😢
Thanks man! haha yeah the power of youtube haha I had that happen with my brake caliper wrap video too sold out everywhere now I can't even get more :(
Great video! Curious to know how these have held up, and how strong is the Velcro have you had the bow lights fall if when you hit waves or do they stick just fine?
Great idea and thanks for sharing. Quick question - are you able to run all of the lights with a single remote? I am scratching my head on quantity of remotes provided. Also, would you do anything differently a year later?
Depends on your use but I mention in the video about 30ish hours of constant use, some depends on your type of battery. And yes the remotes will still work they run off of IR.
These look like a cool solution for my inflatable catamaran, but a question: Your remote was changing all of the colors at once. Do you have to “isolate” the remote...real close to one light and get away from the others...to individually change the colors? I would use one red and one green on the front of each pontoon for the required navigation lights, and 4 at white for illumination. Makes more sense than a $175 Navisafe kit!!!
just found your video on these lights. How well are they holding up? I might add some of these to our camp trailer. So they are all able to be controlled from the same controller from the video, but at the end, it looks like you had two different sets scrolling through the colors diferently. Can they be controlled individually if you just point and aim at each one? Looking for more info...thanks!
I did this video last summer and had it through the fall no issues, I took the lights and batteries off the boat which is simple thankfully, for winter storage.
They are still holding up great, no issue in the year + I had them on. As mentioned in the video the velcro strips are the way to go as water does not cause them to loose their stick. I can't do an update video however as I've sold the boat. Boat market is hot!
Holding up great! no leaks no issues I've only replaced the batteries once, but like I said I'm only out at night for a few hours at a time so its perfect. If I was out all of the time or long ours I would go a more permanent route.
The problem I have had with all these lights is that they drain the battery when off because they use power looing for the remotes at all times.....I take it these do the same????? So if you don't use your boat/lights for 60 days the batteries are drained anyway.....what have you found
holding up great, I was getting a month + out of them like I said in the video I don't go out a night much a few hours here and there. So for me it was perfect. I would say probably 30ish hours of constant use. They are LEDs after all so draw is minimal.
it obviously all depends on use, I went over life span early on the the video though. But for me I don’t use mine much at night a few hours here a few hours there they last a week. If it’s 1 continuous use prob only 20 hours
@@Bsaint my batts were dead after 1to2 hrs not this exact model has press button on centre to switch independently came 3 in pack£5 or j$6 no colours though sadly bought 5 packs great idea though to light up deck .

They work underwater yes as stated in the video they are designed to be waterproof aka submerged. However they most likely won’t be bright enough to be used as under water boat lighting and I would not recommend putting puck lights under your boat.
3M double sided tape is VERY strong, they use it to install spoilers and components on cars that see high speeds, water etc. As long as you clean the area it is not a problem at all.
I have rope LED that I have not installed in my boat yet. And now I'm not even going to bother. For sure going this route. Looks great!!!

Automotive strip lights are waterproof and work great. Have them on both PWCs’, get wet every time and still working perfectly 7+ yrs.

Yes you can in the video you can see me do that and even talk about that. I would add one or two more that's about it!
Thanks
I'm so doing that tomorrow!
Cool idea man, how are they holding since you put them in two years ago ?
Do you have to use the remote to turn on each puck separately or does hitting the on button once them all on?
One remote works on all of they are in the general direction or area.
How long do the batteries last? Will the lights still work on the remote if you install them inside compartments?
Depends on your use but I mention in the video about 30ish hours of constant use, some depends on your type of battery. And yes the remotes will still work they run off of IR.

thats awesome men thank you for sharing
Thanks for the vid. Nice boat too. I have the same one, :)
Curious how these have held up. Any further review 1 year down the road? Lights stay bright? Command strips and lights hold up against elements?
They are still holding up great, no issue in the year + I had them on. As mentioned in the video the velcro strips are the way to go as water does not cause them to loose their stick. I can't do an update video however as I've sold the boat. Boat market is hot!

the led lights u have are out of stock no longer on amazon, any suggestions on reliable led puck lights there are alot. some with mix reviews?
In the video I showed a few ebay sellers of which I actually purchased them, I would try that if a specific seller is out of stock.
So now that these are a year old...how had the Velcro held up in higher seas and bouncing around? Anything different you’d suggest?
Yes the velcro has no issues with bouncing or harsh movements
@@Bsaint awesome! They still working well even with the salt water?
Yes no water gets in, they are water proof
looks great, how long till the batteries give out?
Yea good question
depends on the use, but I went over that early on in the video. 3:10
So you recommend the 3m double sided tape over the command Velcro?
I like the velcro better, mainly because I can take off and put back on with ease. But 3M will work as well.
The problem I have had with all these lights is that they drain the battery when off because they use power looing for the remotes at all times.....I take it these do the same????? So if you don't use your boat/lights for 60 days the batteries are drained anyway.....what have you found
I mean if you aren't going to use something for almost 2 months I would take the batteries out, but I haven't noticed that big of an issue.
@@Bsaint thanks
Great video, how did the lights hold up after a year
Great! No issues at all!
Thats brilliant, just ordered some, thanks for the video 👍
Did any of them ever come off hitting a big wave or did the velcro loose the grip over time?
No they have not, the one on the back with double sided tape did, I switch to the velcro no issues.
Did the command strips succumb to the rain, water and environment?
Yes very well they're plastic and don't lose their "grip" that's why I use them over double sided tape.
How did you get the colors to fade at the same time for all the different lights??
hit the remote from far away it'll get all of them.
How is it holding up? How much time you getting out of them? Thanks!

Could you put these same lights under the boat to light up the water?
No they wouldn’t be bright and enough and would come off, you need a way more secure way to secure a light under the water.

Awesome thank you!
So how many can you have upon using 1 remote??
As many as you want. 1 remote will control all or just one depending on how far away you point it
can you use just one of the remotes
Yes, I mention that exact thing and demonstrate that in the video.
10 months later, question is, how long did the batteries in the lights last?
for me around 6 weeks as I don't use them for more then maybe 3-4 hours at a time and I'm only out at night maybe once or twice a week.
How long does the batteries last?
Mentioned in the video about 36 hours of continuous use. So for me only using a 3-4 hours at a time out once or twice a week like 2 months

Not gonna bother with the rope. This looks great
