I’ve been wearing this one for a few days now and it’s my wife’s new favorite! She actually called it “sexy” and that’s big she’s only said that about one other bottle out of my 120 bottles and that is Aventus.
Great Review Steven! I purchased this on Friday and agree it's a more refined, mature, slightly oriental version of the original which I love. I think this is a great release from Dior and will be a big seller for them. Thank you for all you do for this community. Enjoy Sauvage EDP!
Btw you and Jeremy fragrance are the only two I watch and you are by far my favorite man. Thanks for the videos. You made me love fragrances so much more and you are a very intelligent person when it comes to fragrances. So glad we have you in the fragrance community.
I got mine yesterday. At first I was overwhelmed thinking it’s the same as the EDT, but the dry down is more mature with a deeper cooling effect like those shower gels. Its definitely less metallic and less ambroxan. It’s a bit smoother and rounder.
Thanks a lot for the clarification on the bottle being the same as the original except for the “Eau de Parfum” written on this one, cause I actually thought that I picked up a fake because like you said, all the ads show the bottle having a reddish colour at the base. Love your channel Steven! And congrats on launching your own perfume brand! I’ll definitely buy it for sure... thanks again.
Always enjoy watching your reviews. I'm still a Sauvage virgin, even though I have always been fascinated by it the EDT version for some reason never generated an awe for me. Don't get me wrong when I say I liked it but did not love it as it didn't last very long on me. But your review of the EDP is prompting me to take a leap of faith. I'll keep you posted weather I liked it or not.
I just recently started watching your reviews and your assessments are spot on. I have picked up 3 different bottles in the last month. Azzaro Wanted by Night, YSL La Nuit de l’homme l’intense and this version of Dior Sauvage. I have to say I love all these and want to thank you for your intellectual feedback.
Great review! I have been back and forth between all of your Sauvage reviews trying to make up my mind as to which one to purchase for my husband as a gift. I had smelled the original when it first came out, and did not care for it. I was at Macy’s, and smelled the eau de parfum, and I really loved it. I am going with the eau de parfum. Last year, I bought him the Chanel Bleu parfum and he loves it. I think this will be a winner also. You are the only one that I truly take seriously on fragrance reviews on You Tube. Your reviews are the best. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Projection is weaker than the original, but longevity is slightly better. This smells a bit more mature and refined, which I like. Honestly I think if you already have the EDT, there is no need to buy the EDP. They smell almost exactly the same with only minor differences that only a trained nose would pick up. The EDT projects better which is important to me.
@@icecreamforcrowhurst I agree. Sauvage (either version) is great, but the EDT will overwhelm people, even in small doses. The EDP tones it down a bit, which I actually like with this particular fragrance, because it's so potent.
I use a 5ml decant of the EDT & EDP. Purchase the 100ml of EDP because of the longevity was a tad longer on my skin. If you like the fragrance you won't go wrong purchasing either.
Thats what i got out of it, i tried it out today and its almost identical to the original, just a little warmer and more masculant but not by much. Projection is the same when it comes to any other edt -> edp flanker but of course the edp last longer than its edt counterpart. Over all im really enjoying it, especially with this 80 degree weather we have here in south texas today. Going to end up ordering the bigger bottle for sure in order to be ready for this summer.
I'm a big fan of the original EDT! At first the EDP started so different to the EDT so that I was a little bit unsure if I like it, but I have to admit that it is more smooth and the dry down is almost the same ... So for me it is a more rounder/smoother version of the EDT and I really enjoy it. I've just got notification that my PV X-Batch is on the way and I'm really curios for this as it is called a mix of Aventus and Sauvage.
Awesome, it's finally out!!! I'm definitely interested in getting a bottle now. I was wondering if it was going to be similar to the EDT & answered my question. Another great review Steven!!!
@@Redolessence could I ask for your expert advice on a Armani aftershave that is closest to my favourite Armani mania tried code when it came out found it disgusting lol until it was taken out of circulation I had owned over 5 100ml bottles. Thank you for respond to my previous message so quick 👏👏👏
Great video as always, I love the way you review the fragrances! I tried the original Sauvage and the only thing that stopped me from buying it was that it was already massively popular, and somehow I think that people would think something like "nice smell, another guy with Sauvage"... Difficult decision, I guess.
I just got it at Belk here in Savannah Ga. It's a great EDP flanker, but I wish I could get more of the vanilla out of it. It's too close to the EDT in my opinion. So someone who loves Sauvage could make this the night time version and use the EDT the day time/work scent. The similarities might, and probably will, deter people from buying this if they already have the original. I feel likethe the atomizer is a bit finer spraying than the original but the bottle design is exactly the same. Wish we could have gotten the bottle displayed in the advertising. Overall a good flanker. But somewhat disappointing. Hopefully the eventual sport/ extreme/ black will depart from standard and take risks with DNA. By the way, great video man. Always enjoy your insight.
Abdul Sufi I actually chose Prada Luna Rossa Carbon over the edt of Sauvage but the EDP version of Dior Sauvage is a bit different. You should at least grab a tester and check it out.
Just watched Max Forti’s review today on Sauvage EDP! I am glad both of you lads have got the same opinions :) I will defo get a bottle of EDP once my EDT comes down to 10ml :)
I tried this when Jeremy was in New York a couple of weeks ago. The first thing I noticed was how much smoother it was over the original and that it leans more mature. I think the edt has slightly better projection whereas the edp has slightly better longevity. I'll probably have both because I love the original and I would hate it if Dior reformulated it. Great review as always
Excellent review . . . Sounds like the EDT and EDP are almost interchangeable, so being that close it may be a redundant purchase. I may try the EDP in the future, because I already have 2 bottles of the original . . . Thanks for sharing !
The more i wear the EDP the more i dig it. First time with EDP all i smelled was Pepper and then clean linen. Now i smell a very nice citrusy clean smell and also i just feel that it works best on Skin, that fresh smell mixed with body heat just mixes great. On clothes it lasts longer but I sometimes feel like it gives a weird laundry vibe (sometimes dirty laundry even when it's fresh out of the washer/dryer).
What is your opinion of the new version of sauvage in Eau de parfum ...?Worth it? How far does it project and for how long? What is its longevity on the skin?
Have you heard of American Crew Nine? It smells really good, it's very masculine and fresh, and it's not expensive. A lot babershops like Great Clips and Sports Clips sell it for $ 30 per 75 ml
