When I was in the Navy I was on a Nuclear Aircraft Carrier. For the annoying new people on the ship we would tell them to go to the O-10 level to get some McDonalds, I buy, you fly. There is no O-10 level there is only 9 from the main deck. It kept them busy and out of our hair for at least an hour and humbled them. Other departments that caught on would continue with adding to the directions of where it is.

The onions aren't fresh at McDonalds. They're dehydrated and then rehydrated for 15 minutes in some water. That's actually what makes McDonalds' cheeseburgers taste so good. If you put fresh onions in, it just doesn't taste like McDonalds at all. You should also use sweet (american) mustard and soak the sweet-and-sour pickles in brine water and rinse them. Another essential step is to toast the buns on one side on a pan or hot plate untill the heat goes through and they're warm to the touch . If you toast the bread on or under a grill it will just dry up.

You would not believe the research and development work they put into their products back then. I can’t imagine how much they do now. If they wanted to do it, they could, and would make it economically feasible. There just isn’t a market for it.

the actual best way to preserve food without it degrading in quality for years is to simply put the food into an R.T.D pod, magnetically suspended inside of a circular vacuum tube the pod is propelled to relativistic speeds by directed anti matter explosive rocket nozzles, the pod and its contents experience time slower the closer to light speed it goes thus sealing in freshness without sacrificing taste or texture like other primitive methods do.

14:26 fries actually pick up an incredibly unpleasant off-taste when cooled, even if you do it immediately after cooking, Instead to keep fries fresh you need to keep them hot! :P
And before anyone says anything along the lines of that this doesn’t make sense and that I’m wrong, I literally have done this in the past by wrapping my fries in a heating-pad on the highest setting to great success, and have also personally noticed the bad off-taste when putting even fresh hot fries in the refrigerator for later!! :D

That's really cool how you got the ingredients to rehydrate properly. This was worth looking at. And the prototype packaging was very professional looking. Thanks for sharing this awesome freeze drying and rehydration style with us

This was actually pretty cool! I've always been curious about the freeze-drying process. I thought it was kinda funny what happened with the pickles. I can't believe they regained their color after being rehydrated!

@gopherdope I have seen the sublimation explanation demonstrated many times on TH-cam. It's always been done using a vacuum chamber. I think, the fact that you demonstrated the same result using a home vacuum cleaner is cool. Really cool. That's all I came to say 😁
