I own and live in a small mobile home park here in California. Most of my tenants are retirees and senior citizens. I charge 350.00 dollars a month for space rent. That covers water, sewer and garbage and lawn care. My wife and I have not raised rents in over 5 years because we just can't with good conscience knowing they are struggling to make ends meet. I have had many aggressive offers to buy my park with each group selling how well they will treat our tenants. We tell them to pound sand. We may not make a lot of money off this place but we are surrounded by some of the most beautiful people in the world.

This country makes me sick. Turns out that unfettered capitalism and increased income inequality is NOT sustainable. 😡

They will file a lien and take their home. Then they will bill them and rent out their home or re sell it. HUD will not help and the courts are the Mobile Home Park side. The folks buying this is from out of state usually.

You know what's crazy? The Governor signs bills for crap that most of us may never use or don't even apply to us, rather than sign a bill that keeps tenants protected such as seniors, or people with disabilities, and those in fix incomes from loosing their homes.

Should the original property (business) owner be protected? Should the new property (business) owner who bought the business and now has to pay for the business, should they be protected?

@@johnlopez1496 John what does that have to do with the original owner of the business and the new owner of the business wanting to turn a profit on an investment they made. If you are on SSI or SSDI and concerned about making too much money any thought about giving up that benefit and trying to work. It is a tough decision and a constant thought you may not be succesfull but the SSA has programs that help. Good Luck

Your creating a category of people, with nothing to lose. At that point, those who do nothing, or the greedy, are now open season for them. You reap what you sow. Be prepared for the backlash of poor and homeless people.

Mr. Dennis should have bought the mobile home park if he wanted to keep the rents the same. He could also have reduced the rent for nice people.

That's the chance you take when you get into such a situation. It's why it's called a "mobile" home park not a "permanent" home park. It looks like the former trailer is an unsafe structure anyway, not to mention a health hazard. I'm sure there are leaks everywhere and mold to go with it.
