  • Vast beyond all measure, the galaxy of Star Wars games knows no bounds. But back in the 90s, the series found itself taking a crack at the platformer genre-- complete with perilous challenges and a mean difficulty curve. Just how hard are these games? Let's find out.

Hey dudes. Well, this video didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would've to finish. I did a lot of VFX editing in this one (primarily for the lightsaber shots and all of the greenscreen scenes that include intricate light-wrapping effects and such) and also made use of various 3D prefab models, courtesy of generous providers here on TH-cam. As such, all credits are listed in the description. It goes without saying, but any kind of support, be it likes or shares is greatly appreciated. Maybe even consider hitting me with a follow on Twitter at twitter.com/Calcom_YT for updates and random plugs and whatnot. Anyway, hope you all enjoy and have a great rest of the day. Peace.

My dad and older sister used to stay up all night playing Super Empire Strikes Back-taking turns to complete the game, and they actually did it.

3:56 it just kept going, and I was wheezing, and OMG!
Also, can we talk about the awesome coincidence that the main character of Fall Order is named Cal...
and here I was watching a Super Star Wars series review from Cal(Com)? Neat little coincidences, keep up the great work!

Nicely done! Also props for all the stellar VFX in this.
I remember renting Empire Strikes Back as a kid from Blockbuster. It was difficult and at the time I thought it was because I just sucked at 2d platformers.

holy *flip* dude, your videos have been very high quality from a level-headed point of view and good research into parts from outside the final product of a game itself, but when that is coupled with your tenacity to actually finish such difficult games and *especially* the live-acted scenes you did while mixing it with movie scenes, elevates it to another level-- two, even.
It is a big pity that there are not more people commenting, as this stuff deserves to be seen more, and you deserve to be proud of what you're making here. I do not mean to kiss butt but the continuous effort you put into your videos blows one away.
Honestly, the biggest thing that I worry about is that you try to constantly one-up your last video which may lead to you not enjoying making videos anymore or a kind of burnout. I might be exaggerating as my skill and experience at video making is nihil, but I still wanted to share that worry, completely random internet person as I may be.
I wish you a lot of fun and good luck in all of your upcoming videos, man! I hope many an interesting and fun game will come your way, as well as more people to watch your videos.

Thank you for the kind words. I guess my mindset for this is just to have fun. I've hit a plateau as of late where I'm still gaining an audience, but at a much slower rate than before, so every video I've made for the past year or so has been a product of me pouring all of the free time I have into what I enjoy doing the most. Fortunately, I have a lot of time on my hands, so it allows me to experiment and go over and above. The risk of burnout is still a thing, though-- and it's nice to know that I have viewers that are cautious about that and care about my wellbeing. The secret is to take lots of needed breaks and make time for friends and family. But yeah, not every video will, or even can, be an over-the-top effects-fest-- so I make sure to save it for the ones that are deserving of extra effort. I also never want my videos to lose their sense of authenticity; no matter how much my editing, writing, or shooting improves, I want this channel to remain as a small-scale operation with big goals. Thanks for sticking around.

Imagine that Rogue One and Rebels season Four and five were in SNES style set during the original Trilogy of star wars. I means, Rogue One was the prologue of this videogame Super Star Wars where Jyn Erso and her crew stole the plans of the Death Star and then the Last episodes of Rebels season Four from Hope fool to family reunion and farewell set during the Battle of Yavin 4 we see Ezra Bridger that he fight against the evil Grand Admiral Thrawn with the help of Purgills during the liberation of Lothal and until Darth Vader find him before they went to take Ahsoka Tano and her owl Morai from Malachor and went on Naboo where the Bad Batch were waiting for them. Then in Super Empire Strikes Back, during the Battle of Hoth we see Sabine Wren that She tried to shoot Darth Vader on Echo Base, but captain Rex stop her because he knowed that Vader Is Anakin Skywalker and even in super return of Jedi, we see Ezra, Ahsoka, Bad Batch, Hondo Ohnaka, Maz Kanata, Bounty Hunters, Qi'ra and Crimson Dawn are fighting against Thrawn, Barriss Offee, Moff Gideon, Morgan Elsbeth and Knights of Ren like the final boss during the Battle of Endor.

Never did play Empire or ROTJ so it was interesting to see what I missed. Loved the video production here, though. Excellent work!

I’ve always hoped to see lucasfilm games look to a devoted indie dev team to bring back the SUPER series for Prequels and Sequels.
Yeah it’s right up there in possibility levels as Anakin Skywalker being granted rank of Master.
