Joey and Lauren (Ron and Draco) are indeed married and a super cute couple in real life. I assume you'll watch the sequels, if you do - the new actress that plays Hermione (this one isn't part of Starkid anymore) and Lupin (Brian, who is also one of the writers/creators of these shows) are also together in real life lol
So glad you watched this iconic piece of HP fandom/lore. All the starkids are super talented and they are now a theatre company that does a lot of other really good musicals (most but not all people who are in AVPM are still part of it). Joe who plays Voldemort in this and another hilarious character in the sequel (no spoilers) is so freaking talented and it's a shame he didn't really much acting outside of the starkid stuff as far as I'm aware, he's brilliant. One of their older musicals that is totally weird and quirky but imo brilliant is "Me and my dick" lol
I knew it was gonna happen and still managed to miss it. Soo glad to see that you loved the musical!! I'm gonna warn you, the 2nd musical has "transphobic" jokes. They are written for certain character who isn't trans, but some have taken offence from it years after the musical's release. StarKid themselves have apologized about it and have said that if they remade the series then certain jokes would definitely be axed. I'm waiting for the next one's reactions and of course waiting for book discussions to happen.
Yeah, I know what you're referring to and although it's not related to trans people at all I can see how some people might see it that way but to be honest it's funny and not that different from Lauren playing Draco, really. Also this first musical had some jokes that have been cut out of this version, kind of for the same reason (they were a bit too sexual/offensive lol)
If you thought this should be put on broadway you'd be blown away by Twisted, I hope you watch it sometime!
