I love winter Barbel fishing. Nice long nights and a chance of a big lump.

Only just found your videos I really enjoy them mate. I have had some good results at the end of the season but unfortunately a lot of blanks too on my local (Yorkshire) rivers. I've never finished the trent but I'd like to. I'd need to get kitted out for it though bivvy alarms etc. Great vids mate.

Well done for staying the night in those conditions and temperature Andy. Like you I have never known a bream shoot off like that and take line, quite surprising. I guessed you were on a Barbel Society stretch. I had three days on the Trent at the beginning of March and it was a very disappointing trip. I had one day on the Collingham tidal stretch and had a barbel on but lost it in the marginal dead reeds when I was cut off, the only bite of the trip.

The tidal Trent is not as easy as people make it out to be!. I see from your comment on my latest video you are a member of the Barbel Society, therefore you can get a permit for Sutton or/and Normanton. The bailiff (Julian) is really helpful, so should be able to give some pointers if you visit either next season.

Brilliant Viseo Andrew, I have a Disability and struggle to walk long distanes, I have always wanted to fish the Trent and looks great that you can drive to your swim, I love barbel fishing and my PB is 12lb 4oz from the lower severn. could you tell how to access that part of the Trent and if its day ticket waters please.

The water is run by the Barbel Society, to gain access you need to join the society and get a fishing permit. 12lb 4oz is a good fish from the Severn.
