You don’t know about the comedy actors that basil watched in his childhood these are actors who teaches malayees how to do comedy in their minute mannerisms Jagathy sreekumar Innocent Harisree ashokan Cochin haneefa Salim kumar Sreenivasan Indrans Kuthiravattam pappu Mamukoya Sankaradi Oduvil unnikrishnan Mala aravindan Kalabhavan mani Jagadish Suraj Dileep Mohanlal These guys are goat in malayalam comedy scenes ❤
Basil seems to have followed the Sreenivasan school of acting ...i agree with the comment below on Sreenivasan and the other one with the list of comedic actors in Malayalam cinema.
0:12 "Praavinkoodu" is not a person, not to be confused as Praveen. "Praavu" - Dove/pigeon "Koodu" - Nest So the title means a Toddy shop as cosy as a dove's nest. There is a Toddy shop locally known with that name in Thrissur district, possibly many others, so I suspect the makers leaned into it.
Senior actor and writer Sreenivasan invented the method of mocking himself while being the lead in Malayalam movies in the 80s. His political satires still stand tall and invincible! He is a research material.!
As a malayali, i felt exactly what you said Nona.. incoherence.. it was like.. that's a cool shot.. this music is so good.. is this movie trying to be funny or serious?.. felt underwhelming with the conclusion. Lots of movies do open ending with satisfaction (eg. Inception).. but this felt just like the death scene.. There's a good whodunit movie in there lost within the 10 different things the movie is trying to be.. Alas..
Why does it leave you unsatisfied?? Because of the script.... An average script... I also watched the fdfs in Kerala.. And after the climax when the credits were rolling no one were clapping or praising the movie.. Everyone have an insensitive face... And that sumps up everything.
