For people saying how the app is useless because it doesn't turn on/off from the app, this is a security feature, this is done that way in purpose. Imagine your kid turning it on by mistake? Real benefit from this kettle is that there is no plastic inside, so it is 100% safe, no BPA shit. So, in this price range, this is your best bet, no doubt about that.
Maybe u can connect to it via xiomi smart home hub, if doable 50% likely then you can control it remotely. But annoying they should have just added WiFi module not Bluetooth

It says it can keep warm for 12 hrs..so does the kettle need to be kept on or off for 12 hrs

U need to press warm. Boil is for boiling, 100 degrees

Yes you can. Purpose of the app is just to keep it warm on any temperature.
