Michael not on this build, there’s no need for it but on the next build, XS650 cafe racer there’s going to be all sorts of parts from motogadget including a M-unit. We’ve just got home the parts but more on that when that build starts😊
Hi, the round thing you see i the tray is a battery eliminator, its a capacitor that store energy. It helps to run lights and so on. it helps to hold the light stready. What you also see is the connecting side of a on/off switch.
@@OldschoolBikes Amazing work buddy thanks for the information. Any tech spec on the battery eliminator? How did you establish which wires to use coming from the Stator?
Thank mate! Nope no info there i'm afraid but there's many online. If you watch my other video Scrambler build first start up you'll see me change the stator and rotor do to bad ignition (common on these bikes) that did it very simple to wire so i highly recommend to change the stator and rotor, you'll get a much better ignition and the bike will run perfectly, worth every penny! But when i'm using old parts i always go into the old wiring diagram and sort the cables out, were they go to and then reference it to the new parts. Often there are three colors that are the same 3phase, in with case white, they always go to the reg/rec. Then you often have a red power black earth then two cables that have two colors, they are the picups for the cdi unit.
Are you worried that the regulator will not get enough airflow to keep it cool?
Michael actually not, I were a bit worried at first but we have a good gap in the front of the seat so it’ll be fine!👍🏻
@@OldschoolBikes ah ok, are you going to be running a m.unit?

besides the RegRec and CDI wot other components are in the electrics tray? How have you done away with Battery?
