Cole already did Cole, what can you do that exhibits your unique Vision? Although, if John were to use the "Cole Preset" it would GREATLY improve his images!
I re-watched an interview Sean Tucker did with Rachael Talibart recently. She recalls how she was encouraged to photograph her passion and how it worked out to be some of the best advice she'd ever had.
Indeed, Jackie Gleason as Ralph Cramden, a bus driver in Brooklyn, NY (my home town). There's a sign on the highway leading into Brooklyn that says "{Brooklyn, How Sweet it Is". But to get back to Cole and John, 🙂, nice job guys, I enjoy the banter and the message,
Hey Cole…Liked your longer newsletter, especially the inclusion of Sun-like quotes. Of all the TH-cam photography channels, there is only one guy who talks about photography as you outlined. The rest are camera related, technical, niches, or forgettable personal observations. It’s a shame that it has all become so superficial, but I guess for most it’s the easy path that we all must go through.
I thought a bit more about what you said: "But I guess for most, it's the easy path that we must all go through." Yes, it does seem most of us go through this phase, and hopefully some can eventually break out of it. I went through it. My goal is to help people avoid it or more quickly break out of it. But then I think back to when I was younger, I didn't listen to anyone! I HAD to learn the hard way. And then there's John...I'm still trying to steer little "grasshopper" onto the right path.
Cole says John will be by to wash my car soon and that should take the grin off his face … it’s a Land Rover Defender and the guy who designed this vehicle with all it’s crooks and crannies never washed a car in his/her life! Copy and paste is more reliable than my memory, so … Question your motives. Find your Vision. Find your Passion. Critically analyze your own work. Be true to yourself. And fro memory, Ralph Kramden, The Honeymooner’s. I always remember the lines between Norton and Ralph … Ralph says “Blood is thicker than water” and Norton replies “Not where I work it isn’t” 😂! All the best you two!!!
The shorts may be stretching the limits of my mental endurance … as for a picture, I think I may have found a use for the Z9’s new auto subject motion detection, assuming John moves fast enough to trip the shutter? Seriously though, I do enjoy “The Show”, hope you keep them coming 🤞
Question your motives, find your passion, critically analyze your own work, be true to yourself… Each one of these is important and I find myself amidst all of them at various stages of my photography (one day I’ll get them all at the same time). Excellent video on how to create images that are meaningful to you. Others may not see why it is meaningful to you but it shouldn’t matter! That can be tough but it’s so important. Now, is step 6 to buy a Nikon???
Good grief. Of course I watch this godforsaken show. You need every viewer! Well, Barry is older but I’m not sure that he is smarter. 🤔 Without rewinding: 1 Question your motives 2 Find your vision 3 photograph your passion 4 analyze your own work - I don’t remember the 5th but 4/5 is pretty good. Ok. Now I’ve rewinded. No wonder I didn’t remember - I collapsed 5 (Be true to yourself) into no. 1 (Question your motives). I’m a very efficient listener. A sign of HIGH intelligence. And I will have you know, that Ralph Kramden only says “To the moon, Alice” when he can’t come up with a reply to her astute observations about his character. So take from that what you should! 😂❤
I think Ralph said that to Alice when she didn't have his dinner ready, his slippers out and the newspaper at the ready when he came home. Boy, I miss those days!!!
Ralph Kramden, The Honeymooners. Loved that show. Like your show too.
Cole, your newsletter format is very nice!
I thought it was “Apply the Cole Thompson B&W Preset” and, voila! You have a meaningful image! 😂
Oh my goodness NO!!!!! :)

jackie gleason - the honeymooners!

I love Sean and read his great book. Love Rachael too. Great advice!!
How could anyone ever give different advice? It's inconceivable to me that someone would suggest otherwise.
Jackie Gleason, Honeymooners. 😅
And the character’s name is Ralph Kamden. But I’m definitely over 45, so maybe I’m disqualified from answering.

Thanks Barry, talking about Vision and Passion doesn't sell camera gear!

I've heard reports that John does the car wash in Daisey Duke short-shorts! Someone get a picture of that!

No, get a Mac... Cole is still using a PC. Can you believe that??? His images could be SOOOOO much better with a Mac!
@@thecoleandjohnshow7236 exactly!
I love a capable camera as much as the next guy, the problem is that some people put the new camera as their Number 1 priority, not Vision or Passion.
@@colethompson1906 my sarcasm doesn’t always come through. Step 6 is dripping with it.
Cole is a bit slow on the sarcasm…

My passion is photography. Should I photograph cameras? Just kidding!
Yes!!!
John, there's always one of "those" in the group! Now I think we have two.
