Watch Duty is free btw, I live in CA foothills and we all have it for everyday, not just trail. Also, on my JMT thru-hike I used Shocz headphones and LOVED them. They don’t go in your ear, just near and you can hear your surroundings, have excellent battery life and charge fast. I needed audiobooks to distract me from some of the climbs. On another note, no head phones but perhaps head in the clouds, sometimes I would not realize someone was behind me. May be a geezer factor. I’m 61.
Congratulations, Frozen!!! 👊 I had (what I think is) a cool idea for a video. I don't think anyone has done it. Maybe because it's a terrible idea 😂. But between your skill and how you present, I can't think of anyone better. The idea came to me when you went under that waterfall-cave, with all the camera angles, a couple were from a good distance. Brother, that visual editing and "storytelling" was fn brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to set it all up (then retrieve everything), edit, etc. I'd love to see someone do a video on editing. How do you edit a video? Choosing and putting together footage, you add some cool music, too. I was shocked when you said you record less than 20 minutes a day, yet we (viewers) are on a journey. Maybe I'll start recording some of my hikes. I don't like to stop much, but I can stop for 20min. THANK YOU for dragging us along! Those 2 battery banks, alone.......✌️
I actually have this video already. It's a few years old at this point but you'll get the gist of it. th-cam.com/video/qRmrfadm2pc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=M-2K55F11Uvb0c2P
I'm not very techy anymore. But I recently was gifted the Rayban Meta glasses. They've been great for the trail. Might want to check them out if you haven't already.
Oh man that's cool. I see it on amazon. NU20 doesn't have the red light but maybe they we will release a nu25 classic with a usb C. I'll ask my nitecore rep.
@@FrozensAdventures The NU20 Classic is not a revamp of the NU20, but the original NU25 and they even advertise it as such in their marketing material. Nitecore really listened to feedback, as it has almost the exact same feature set as the original while making small things better (USB-C charging, UL headband, battery indicator, more efficient LED), which is what most people wished for. The naming is unfortunate, but I guess they had to distinguish it somehow from the current NU25.
@@FrozensAdventures @toemke got it - the NU 20 is basically exaclty what we all wanted, an updated NU25 Gen1 with USB-C. The UL headband is sketchy but easily replaced with a MYOG or Litesmith band.
I’ve had the Nitecore 20000 Gen1 for a few years now. No problems with mine at all. I’m curious what you think of the Pad Pal, looking forward to that.
Recently bought the NITECORE Carbon 10,000 mah battery. A great upgrade. Small as a galaxy mini and crazy light. On the pricy side, but what UL isn’t 😄. But very pleased and know your recording equipment, help cut some oz’s on the battery pack 🤷🏼♂️🙂
That Anker wall wart looks like the 100W version. There's a 65W version that's longer and more skinny while being lighter. The 100W blocks outlets on my power strip while the 65W version doesn't. Either one is easily my favorite USB charger though as it just the right number of ports.
Hey Frozen, just curious about your decision to film in 4K. Was that for personal reasons like you wanted to capture the best quality for your memories or was it for the channel to provide your subscribers the best quality or both? I’m trying to decide between 1080 or 4k? Did the 4K take much longer to upload to TH-cam or was it negligible? Thanks for your impute.
My choice to film in 4k was for both myself and the viewer reasons. I filmed my AT hike in 1080p and it already looks very dated after 5 years. Unfortunately it takes 4 times longer to upload. Consider 1440p if you camera supports it.
YEAAAY!!! Great to hear you’re gonna get the hammock back up and running!! I’m the annoying guy who kept asking when you were going to switch back to a hammock😅🤣 during your thru hike. Also, I was wondering if you’ve heard from Bigfoot since you got home. Take care Frozen! NQU

Killer.....thank you! I'll watch it this evening!
Great stuff, man!
Thanks dude, we really gotta plan a hike together.
@frozensadventures PA Grand Canyon! Spring!
Lemme know a date and possible. That's an overnight for sure.
@@FrozensAdventures OK. I need to map out how long the drive is for me. If you think another place is better, lemme know.
Thanks for the numbers and information.

Great infos!!! The pct's my dream hike and since I vlog all my hikes... this is the plan (someday). Thanks for the tips.
Nitecore did bring back the gen one NU 20 classic. I’m not sure if it’s exact but I believe it’s close.

@@FrozensAdventures It does have the red light! And with a "1 lumen" (red or white) setting like the old nu25.

Have a nitecore 10k for like 6years, never an issue. I hike about 2-2.5 months a year.
Good news! Nitecore launched the NU20 a few months ago and is basically the old NU25 with USB-C charging.

How did you handle taking video while walking? I tend to get a lot of side to side shaking that becomes unwatchable on larger screens

There's 2 GaN versions I do have the 67 watt. Links are in the video description.

There are allot of power banks that can recharge at 65w and above which can greatly reduce time at a wall charger.
30w seems to be a good balance between weight and capacity. Those 65w chargers are heavy!
In addition to your apps what were your most used websites?
Honestly just your favorite weather app and pcta.org
Hey Jason, don't you think it's time to switch back to a hammock on your Outdoor Adventures tee? 😂
