Hey I fitted the same turna exhaust on my 2015 gv650 and it is very loud and buckfires when i rev and let off the throttle , also smells of fuel so i assume its now running too rich , did you have this issue? and if so how did you fix it?
Well mine is definitely loud and back fires a bit, haven't noticed any fuel smell though. Normally don't need to do anything else when fitting the exhaust, maybe leaving the battery disconnected to reset the ECU will help or there is some other existing issue. I've heard of some people also installing a Power Commander, not sure if there is one yet for the later models but you can have a look around.
Does putting in new exhausts mess up the engine in the long run? I have read that the engine is tuned to the stock exhausts and changing the exhaust for a better sound (and this bike needs it too) can affect the engine. It has to be, then, re-tuned to match the exhaust that's been put in. Have read in other places that it doesn't make a difference. A little light on the matter would be appreciated. Thanks.
+asit ganguli I know what you're saying, mine went fine after the exhaust install... Had a little bit more go even I reckon. What damage if any I see in the future remains to be seen but I know of a few people that have had them for quite a while now and they've been fine.
