  • As the founder of Particle 3D, a company that prints 3D bone implants Casper Slots is discussing how 3D printed bones can restore and recreate a patient’s anatomy for optimal aesthetic and functional outcome. The talk centres around the revolutionary technology underpinning bone printing and how it can be used to transform patient’s experiences of trauma and create a stronger sense of responsibility for surgeons. Casper Slots is the co-founder and CEO of Particle3D, a medical technology start-up founded in 2017. Particle3D’s vision is to give surgeons back the power to develop personalised implants instead of using off-the-shelf products. P3D’s core technologies revolve around 3D-printable bio-inks composed of beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP). This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Gone are the days when I thought SCI-FI movies were too unrealistic. Every SCI-FI movie I see is an idea to be actualized in the nearest future.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially for patients that have the old knee replacements where they remove your knee
