I was so close to visiting Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture actor and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to work in Japan.

I got to visit Japan once but at the time I had lost interest in manga, now that my love for the medium has returned and grown I hope to visit again and have the true otaku experience

Ah I could watch these videos forever. Would love to visit Little Tokyo but its a bit far from the east coast for me. I find Newbury comics to have a a good selection for things that are a bit more obscure than what Barnes and Noble carries
i feel that - i'll be going to the east coast possibly late this year so i'll need all the recommendations i can get!

Used to go to little Tokyo all the time with anime club at USC when I was in grad school. I went back for USC’s homecoming last month and had so much fun. Having recently been to Japan for my birthday in October, it was cool to compare little Tokyo to big Tokyo with both being so fresh in my head. Actually got a vid I’m working on for it rn.
Im telling you, when i saw the D.Gray-Man artbook, i froze!!! This is like the thing that got me into anime and manga! I adore anything related to D.gray-man and its sooooo hard to find anything anywhere, not to mention a small country in the balkans. Holy moly that made my day!
oh dang! I hope you get some more otaku stores near you! But that being said i got out vlogging A LOT and that was the first D Gray Man art book i've ever seen 👀

when i was in NYC, i went to Kinokuniya and book off. Book off impressed me so much since i had been to some Kinokuniya's in texas but the one in NYC was cool, just Book off had a totally different vibe that I loved.

I'm so disappointed that we don't have a little Tokyo in Chicago. We had a few stores, restaurants and a grocery store. Also a culture center. Chinatown is thriving though.

Mandarake in Nakano Broadway (Tokyo) has a similar layout to Anime Jungle; I'd definitely recommend it if you can fit it in your itinerary.
i've heard of Nakano Broadway - i've also heard that the pandemic REALLY took it's toll on it & the small businesses there : (
@@BoogieSnacks Think it should be better now that Japan is opening up again but yeah I can imagine the past few years must have been rough there... If Nakano isn't in the cards there's also a Mandarake in Akihabara though that one has its own building
I’m going on exchange in Japan in August and I’m flying out of LAX! I’m going a few days early and I might run by and compare this to the real thing! I’m not a hugeee fan of manga and anime but I can appreciate it😊

I should have volume 1 of colorless on the 16th . And i got volume's 1,2 or witches of adamas volume's 2,3 of dan a dan and volume's 2,3 of colorless in .Also im planning on ordering volume 4 of colorless, volume 34 of my hero academia, volume 14 of my hero academia vigilantes, and volume 38 of one piece on the 16th .

Boogie, some advice: the manga and anime of Evangelion are VERY different in story, characters and lenght. I suggest you start the anime and also read that 3-1 manga and then you decide which version you want to go. I say this because I bought the complete manga second hand and when I was waiting for the deliver I started watching the anime and boy oh boy do I hated it. It was too late for a refund so I went on and read the fist volume and boy oh boy do I loved it! it is my third favourite manga ever!!!

4:58 i'm assuming you went on a weekday compared to a weekEND. anime jungle will have an on and off 1 hour long line to get into anime jungle on weekends so just be prepared

Bruh, I am so jealous! I live in Sweden in Lund and the nearest store that has a manga collection that is over 5 different series is a whole city away 😢 I can only buy manga online and there is like never a discount in the websites I use 😭
