Its good to see the Millfield Mine Disaster has not been fogotten. I helped my grandpa load up the replica to display it at the Athens Co Fair way back in 1980, when the museum was in its infancy, and many of the survivors were still around. Two of my great-aunts lost their husbands there, and two of their brothers died there also. William Border (called Porter in newspaper articles) saved my grandfather's life, fortunately for me, because it happened almost four years before my dad was born.
