Nice video ! I wanted to reply to the remark about hard to speak Estonians because the switch to English. There is a program in Estonia ,, Keelesõber” where they take together foreign and Estonian. So they can have Estonian talk by calling each other. So it would be easier to learn Estonian language :)

Manan, what a wonderful series you are putting on. Tänan hästi!!!
First, English does have a bit of its grammatical case history in active use: The genitive. You add an " 's" to the singular noun to show possession: "The town's dog."
You also know the plural: " s' " and only in context tells you singular or plural: "The towns' dog." (the dog belonged to two towns...silly, I know). Oh, and "who/whom" remnants of 'who' in the nominative and the dative actually (I am a linguist).
I would give almost anything to come to Estonia. It has been part of my history growing up in the US. I have 3 language books I am using, and it is sinking in slowly. I do love the case system.
To come for the Laulupidu! You have been there long enough to have experienced that. Mina olen väga JEALOUS!!!
You are doing so much for Estonia and Estonian. All the best,
    Michael in Virginia, USA

It helps leaning Estonian when you have a partner from there 😉 I live in Australia, but I have wanted to speak Estonian with her, so I am currently learning it. It's not too bad when you don't worry about the cases and just memorise phrases, because then you kind of implicitly pick up on the endings as you use the words.

That is correct but you need to have a partner first

I would say that about 90% of estonians who speak estonian by heart, actually do not know how to properly speak estonian. If you get through the language lessons you can feel blessed (the same for estonians) :))) wow, your pronounciation is spot on.

If you speaks to a man if language that he understands, it does to his head. If ypu speak to a man in HIS language, it goes to his heart.
    - Nelson Mandela
You can get by with russian basically only in Tallinn and N.-E. Estonia. Elswhere you'll get weird looks. It is a matter of respect and you will get a lot warmer attitude, if you at least try to speak the local language.

Estonians are touchy about foreigners speaking/not speaking the language because there are people who lived here for 40-60 years and they haven't been bothered to learn our language. Why come and live in the country you don't respect? Check out Estonian Singing Revolution

You can technically use future tense in a way Germans do. Normally Estonians just use present tense while implying future through context.
For example: "me saame hakkama", "saab näha/saame näha" - its not present tense.. "saame" is like German "werden"
