  • Took my Sony CX405 with me on a recent hike and this is a short video I put together to highlight it's strengths and weaknesses. While it doesn't doing anything great it does do a lot of things really good - and sometimes GOOD is good enough.
    Primary camera: Sony HDR-CX405
    Secondary camera: iPhone 13 Mini
    Studio camera: Canon T7i
    Studio Microphone: Rode Video Go
    Editing software: Filmora 12
    Music: Epidemic Sound

I also use the CX 405 and if you want an example for the capabilities of this little wonder, then take a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/7huQWdd01ZQ/w-d-xo.html Only the sound was recorded using the Olympus LS P4 recorder.

How would you get videos from this camera onto a phone for editing and sharing? Especially, while traveling and away from a computer?

You get a card reader that can use a micro sd card or get and adapter you can insert your micro sd card into that makes it a full size sd card and insert the now full size card into a card reader that accepts full size cards then insert that card reader into your phone then access the files section of your phone to find the files on that micro sd card then transfer to your phone.
